If not another volume (which I still would love), I still would like to at least see an Epilogue with at least a year lapse in time to peek into how life is progressing... Ok...I'm having difficulty leaving Ravello this time.
-
I do hope for another volume of the Ravello story to let us know how things work out....
-
Ditto to the above comments. I, too, worry about Giorgio! I do hope Tio Maurizio can fill a part of the void in his life along with the rest of the Ravello crew. He already knows that Betta had very little to no use for him, but that does not mean that he didn't desire an acceptance from her. Time and love can help him cope.

Chapter 1: The Seasons of My Life
pvtguy commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 1: The Seasons of My Life
We share the same age and those seasons speak loudly! I agree - may the winter be long and full of joy. -
Each is wonderful in its own right! I loved them all! Number 2 brought thoughts of the Last Supper and how its lesson can still be manifested today. Rich!

Teenage angst, hormones, feelings of attraction, fear and jangled nerves — so wonderfully described! This was a warm and lovely chapter.

So many gay youth experience violence from either parents, peers, society, church (any or all of the above). It would seem that more are experiencing acceptance, but there are still enough who experience homelessness and rejection. Will Keith's background affect his relationship with Thomas? Or will love and acceptance by Thomas help heal Keith? A compelling chapter!

Cosmo desperately needs someone to support him in a very strong way. Mario and Luisa are nice enough but don't seem to be overly demonstrative towards him. If he is to change, he needs that certainty that he does belong to someone. Betta is so beaten down (physically and psychologically) that it will be most difficult to change her direction, though not impossible. Prison may well be in her future! Marco has given up, it would seem, on Cosmo - not without good cause - but somehow, I hope he is part of the solution for Cosmo.
-
So happy to see another tale so soon after the end of one. As said by others, I was hooked after the first paragraph (actually, by the name of the author!). I do so like the contrast between the two along with that which they share.
-
Logic says it was most likely Betta who attacked Pietro, and if it is so, may she finally be faced with consequences! Also, may this bring Cosmo to his senses! Other than this last scene, this was a delightful look at two innocent and naive teens trying to handle both hormones and negative self-talk! Let's see how it unfolds!

That Alison just accepts Thomas and Keith without judgment allows Keith to grow a bit more in comfort. He is certainly helping Thomas's company by fixing this project, but he is also showing a complimentary side to the relationship. I do love the pacing!

Proms in the gym? At my school, it was in the cafeteria. It was the job of the Juniors to decorate for the seniors. We got a day off from classes to decorate. Then the cleanup after! We had to set the cafeteria up for lunch on the following Monday. I am absolutely loving this story and its characters.

Why haven't any of the adults actually talked with Cosmo instead of at him? No wonder he feels so alone! While gritty, this chapter really did show the "logic" that drives Cosmo. Yet, there is still that nagging voice in the back of his mind. Very well done! I do hope there is hope for Cosmo!

If you are looking for an engaging story featuring mature individuals facing various personal life challenges, family interactions (not all positive), and a realistic presentation of mature individuals growing into a great relationship, this story is for you! I will assure you, you will definitely want a sequel to this volume!!

Epilogue: Normal Families?
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Epilogue: Normal Families?
And, I add my thank you too! It was a great pleasure to read about adults dealing with their lives and not another high school mad love story. They are good too, but I do enjoy reading about mature people too! Yes, you did tell us it would end soon and I, like @Summerabbacat preferred to live in denial too! However, that you are already thinking about a much anticipated sequel brings me hope!- 21 comments

I'm a bit exasperated everyone is giving up so fatalistically on Cosmo. He did try to go back to work. @drpaladin: I don't see it as everyone giving up on Cosmo as much as allowing Cosmo to experience the consequences of his actions. He has to make the decision to change and trust others than Betta. Even she could change if she ever experienced the unconditional love that Marco and Giaco have! You cannot force another person to change, but only invite them to do so.
-
Marco's compassion is growing and bringing with it more self-confidence and reflection. Giorgio definitely needed this day! Dani and Giaco helped even more. Their history with Marco is proving to also helping Marco grow through his pain of loneliness. He seems to be reevaluating the current relationship with both of them. Wonderfully warm chapter!
-
Is it too late for Cosmo? With more encouragement, he can turn his mistakes into learning moments. I do hope Luisa and Mario will rise to the challenge they took upon themselves!
-
The relationship is deepening. I'm interested to see if/when politics enters. I am guessing that they might not be too far apart but Thomas will be more passionate than Keith. Perhaps he will ignite some passion in Keith too! I admire the stance Thomas takes (as well as many of your readers who have responded in like manner) when it comes to watching for the source of items I buy, but I often wonder about the children and adults who work in the cheap factories: I want to see their quality of life improve too, but will they be able to survive if enough trade is taken away from them? They need to eat and survive too...hence, the crux of the problem.

Ok...I am drawn to what I referred to as my thug students - Cosmo is a prime example. His internal dialogue that he is worthless just keeps reinforced by others' disdain. He is so used to being "bad" that he doesn't allow for any good statements to take hold. Vincenzo's rebuff has thrown him in the deepest funk and his arrogant brother, Luca, needs a good ass-kicking! I believe Cosmo can change given a crisis or realization of a deep love which forces him to reevaluate. I hope for that! Marco is really showing a depth and confidence.

It will be most interesting to find out what the solicitors have and did with the papers. Might there be shenanigans there too? This story definitely needs further sequels!

@drsawzall - we must have attended school at the same time! I remember that Thanksgiving vividly!

The counselor needs counseling too! This was a wonderful chapter, each looking back on their first times. It caused me to look back too! Oh the windows of the mind!

Ok...so now we need a "groan" emoji! Cosmo's interaction with Vincenzo was so obvious to us, but still he made an effort only to be rebuffed in a very nasty manner. Vincenzo is very much the POS he presents in chapter 1. May Vincenzo meet the same level of rebuff when he tries to impress Luciana. May she hand him his balls on a platter! Now what is going to happen with the last scene? Eager for the next chapter!

Keith is making amazing progress. If it hadn't been for the confrontation with Den, Keith would not have found out so quickly who his true friends were and that they accepted him with no change in their loyalty. This has allowed Keith to be more comfortable in his own skin. Thomas is such a wonderful support and encourager.
