  1. 3 months?!? I am so jealous! I would like to go to Europe sometime in the fall, but I have the worst planning skills EVER! I'm actually trying to recruit a friend to help me plan by bribing him with bubble teas. So far, I don't think he's going for it Have a great time! And I agree with Coley, come back with some stories to tell!
  2. CONGRATS, CONGRATS! It was expected, actually, but congratulations nonetheless. I love all those posting maniacs- you, Beastie, Gary, C James, Graeme, Kevin---it's the GA staples and we wouldn't be the same without all of you. We need your comments- encouraging, friendly, intelligent.
  3. Congrats BK! I always enjoy your posts. It's fun having discussions with you. You always have something nice or interesting to say. Keep posting...although I know you will!
  4. WELCOME TO GA! The more people the better. More interesting conversations. Stop lurking! Well, if you really want to, then do it, but engage in the forum chatter; it's fun.
  5. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ROSE! I E-send you lots of coffee! Hope you have a great day celebrating.
  6. Oooh, Gary, good one! Look at you, have an answer for everything. But you are correct- rainbow drops make you see sexuality from a new and exciting perspective, if you will. LOL! Someone should create rainbow drops and then have magazine ads...it would be hilarious.
  7. Rainbow drops, LOL. Well, that kind of makes me think of something you'd put in your eyes, you know, like eye drops. But not a bad idea... Totally! And don't fruit flies have a life span of a few days or less? Or am I getting it confused with a different type of fly?
  8. I loved this article! I like the whole friendship aspect of it and it really reminds me of Will and Grace. How they're so connected to one another, that whenever one has a boyfriend, they end up dating BOTH Will and Grace, because they're a packaged deal. Or whenever Grace breaks up with a guy, Will is always there for her. Or she asks him about her outfit or goes shopping with him. I'm always referring to TV shows in the forums; I watch a lot of late night reruns.
  9. Yay for a new member! You will most definitely love it here. You'll enjoy the forum chats, the back and forth joking between members. Read, laugh, and jump in! Like BK said, if you write, don't be afraid to post your stories here. Besides being a good network to communicate with others and discuss issues or problems, this site really helps cultivate your writing skills. Impressive on doing this on your cell phone. I find internet access on my phone quite annoying. Anyway....WELCOME!!!
  10. Nothing wrong with being addicted to GA! I think a lot of us are! It's a great place, always something to read or discuss! How could you not be addicted? Even more so for you because it is a safe place and you can escape here and let off some steam or relax. Very understandable.
  11. I'm completely addicted to the computer and the internet. Even if I'm just writing something, I like to have internet access, so I can randomly check my email, IM, or check the GA forums. I use the internet a lot for school- research, communicating with teachers, getting info, writing endless history papers, so it's a necessity for the time being. But even when I'm done with school, the internet and computer would be vital, like an arm! While watching TV or movies, I always have my laptop with me, so everything else becomes background noise. Jeez, in Vegas for three days, I went through major withdrawal and had to use the internet on my cell phone and it was so crappy- small screen, slow, and everything! Next time, I'm bringing it with me and paying for wifi. I think most of us are in the same boat. Especially those of us in the GA community, because we write, we read, and we talk with others- all which need the internet.
  12. I second that! But now that you mention it, I do feel a little bad about eating an animal....but I'm sure the feeling will pass as soon as dinner approaches. I guess it depends on the culture? Like, we don't eat cats or dogs or hamsters because they're our domestic pets. But we eat cows and fish and chickens without any problems. In other countries, I'm sure some of the animals are reversed, so it all depends. I'm not sure where I was going with that...I might be hungry...
  13. Oh, the bi mi club has a funny ring to it; I love it. CONGRATS!!!
  14. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! This is as creative as it can get. I think BK made the best looking Bday announcement ever and no one else can compete! Anyway, hope you enjoy your day. Do something fun! Happy cake-eating day!
  15. I'm a good listener if my head's in the right place at that given moment. If I'm distracted or busy with something, then no, I can't really focus and pay attention. If it's a good friend, or family, or something important, I'll make it a point to block the environment out (ex: crowded restaurant) and focus 100% and maintain eye contact, nod along, add my opinion. If I'm at my best friend's house and we're both on our laptops, then yeah, I might not catch everything she says and vice versa. We're just shooting the shit, really. Oh and if you really don't like the person, yeah, we'll tend to tune them out, and fake listening to be polite. And I agree with Krista, I hate repeating myself too much, especially if it was important and they were blatantly not listening. 'Cause sometimes, you know, my parents have bad hearing and I need to say things twice....or four times.
  16. I think you did imagine all that. Nah, we're all putting too much brain energy into this little puzzle. However, it's rather fun. Making us think outside the box, whether we want to or not I still maintain my idea we need to find a suave stalker to get the pronunciation of his name, real or not. The curiousity will eat us alive!!!

Hope you're enjoying the forums so far! We're a friendly bunch, right? Anyway, it's interesting to hear you mention research for a writing project. I'd love to write something I have no idea about, but the thought of all the research I'd have to go through is so intimidating. Such as, where would I begin? What sources, how do you gather everything, and finally, start writing it??
  18. Yes, this is only under the assumption that "Myr" is indeed his real name. I've never heard of that name before or met anyone with that name. With all this talk, that name is really catching on. LOL. If someone called and asked for "Mr. Face" I'd be mad suspicious too, but I'd go with it and see where it goes. That might be an interesting conversation.
  19. I really liked it. It may have been short, but it looked well put together and organized, and informative. I had fun reading Moonwolf's Q&A interview and the blurbs about the new Hosted authors. This is the first one in a long while, then it is a good start and I'm sure it will only get better.
  20. This is madness  This great mystery continues to elude us....... As for me, I went with My- and then 'err', so Myer, basically. Jeez, this is going to bug me for eternity. Is there an amazing, well-connected stalker around here that can somehow call Myr up, fake a persona (ex: this is your Verizon bill rep.) and get the pronunciation of his name? Like: Q- Is this Myr so and so? Answer A- Why yes, this is Myr so and so. What is the nature of this phone call? OR Answer B- It's Myr (corrected version). What is the nature of this phone call? Ok, I seriously analyzed this and now it is REALLY bugging me. Who created this thread? Let me go back and check.

Welcome!!!! You'll love it here; gauranteed. The forum activity and conversations are always fun and everyone is so involved. A few more posts, you'll be one of the gang.
  22. I think texting is the wave of the future More and more people are into texting, because it's more impersonal, and for some people you don't know too well, it's easier to text than to talk on the phone. That's why I picked it depends on who the person is that I'm trying to contact. If it's my parents, or someone who I must talk with urgently, then a phone call is obviously quicker and more effiecient. Plus, as a student, texting is convenient. I can do it during lecture, or if someone wants to ask me to hang out after class, they can text and I can reply instantly. With a phone, well, I'd have to step out of the room and all that stuff. However, I try not to go too overboard with the texts. I have unlimited with the same network users, but limited out-texting and that kills me. I really like email communication. Then text. I can stop and take breaks. With the phone, I have to give my undivided attention. And depending on the person, you don't always want to give your undivided attention!
  23. Ahh, ok back to coffee or tea. Well good for Stalin; tea is good for you! My Mom wants to make a giant pot of tea every morning, so I'll be chugging that very soon. I used to really like strong tea, like, vomiting strong. In high school, I think I had the perception that the more leaves I used, the more awake I'd be in class.
  24. No, you're supposed to tell me how he took his coffee! Don't they have those fun facts somwhere? I'm going to search online. Maybe he likes it a specific way. Imagine there was some sort of historical cafe where the drinks are made according to how these historical figures like them: "I'll have the Stalin, a large cup, no whip."
