“Honest Sergeant, we thought he was trying to get away from us, and that he was faking the injury and he was resisting arrest,” I heard one of the officers who had shoved me into the van say, “Really, and the odd position of his arm was no indication to you that it was dislocated? You have a few questions to answer your self Senior Constable,” another officer said in response. “Stop!” I said in a soft voice, and the paramedic stopped the stretcher and the Barrister approached me. “What is

After a relaxing weekend at the cottage, I arrived back home in Allendale East, where Hunter had dinner ready for me on arrival, which I appreciated. With the long weekend approaching, and the cottage not being available for those four days, I was considering flying to Adelaide to spend some time with Giles and Antonio, but on Wednesday evening, I received a text message from Giles. “Antonio travelling home for the long weekend, can I come over there, please? Giles” and I didn’t hesitate to resp

I pointed toward the small cottage located not far away, with its double garage and two water tanks, and in sign, “You see that cottage just 200 metres away… it is currently for sale. I am thinking about buying it, as a holiday and weekend retreat, not just for me but rent it out to guests too,” I announced. “That would be nice, plenty of open air to enjoy and coastline to explore too,” Hunter signed back, and I nodded my head in agreement, and I made the decision that I would go ahead with the

“Just one more shop to go, for some essentials,” I said as we placed everything in the back of the vehicle and climbed in. A short drive later we arrived at a retail store, where I suggested that Hunter buy underwear, socks, and toiletries that he needs, which he reluctantly did before we set off southwards for Allendale East. After passing the first street as we came into town, I slowed down and indicated to turn right off the highway, onto Edmund Street, then right again onto William Street, a

“Here, get this into you, and try and find a place to get out of this cold air,” I said to the young man who accepted the burger and drinks and gave me a small smile before starting to unwrap the large burger with the lot and nibbling at it, and not wanting to embarrass him I returned inside. When I had finished my meal and headed outside, there was no sign of the young man anywhere, so I hoped that he had gone home where it was warmer. Over the next few nights, I made a point of having din

Four minute walk from the house to the train station…

After looking at seven houses during the few days in Mount Gambier, I cut the list down to three houses and I went and inspected them one final time, and after that, I made my decision. The winner is… a delightful former community church built in 1866, that has a six-bay lockup garage behind it. Inside, there are two bedrooms at the front of the building, with a loungeroom beyond that. Next, some stairs lead up to the mezzanine level, to a lounge area and 4th bedroom and private bathroom at the

It took us two hours to manage to get the Ute unstuck and off the beach, for which they received a $250 bill for the use of my loader, and the ranger had also issued them with a small fine and told them to stay well away from the water in future, as there may not be anyone around to rescue them next time. When the Edgar brothers returned to Yanchep two days later, we caught a ride back with them, so I could be dropped off at my grandparents’ place, and Giles could catch a train back to the easte

Nope, they were naughty, so as to keep the complex secret.

Once I was back home in Adelaide, with Giles coming to pick me up, I had a few days to relax before the start of the second semester of Uni. Antonio was currently away at home on the other side of the gulf, so the place was a little messy, and with a bit of encouragement, I helped Giles get the house back in order again. Once that was done, I went to the study and checked on my emails, which I had not done since leaving to go on my holiday to the ACT, and as expected there was an email from Marc

I was in the cafeteria the following day at lunchtime when I saw one of the students that I was watching yesterday fast approaching me. “Why were you looking at me and my friend yesterday? Do you think watching people sign is funny?” he demanded to know from me in a clear voice as well as in sign. “I am sorry to learn that your brother – Jordan is very sick. Is he any better today?” I signed, “So you were listening in to our sign conversation, that is not cool dude,” he responded also in sign.

“Yeah, I had a few lectures about it, by my parents over the Christmas break,” Giles replied and I just chuckled at this. “Should I set up a swear jar for you?” I asked, “Hell no, I would be stoney broke by the end of the first semester,” Giles replied and I burst out laughing. “There are your first five cents into the jar,” I said, “Buggar,” Giles responded, “And your second,” I added, “Shhhh… sugar. Hey cut that out, you’re meant to be my friend,” Giles responded and I couldn’t help but

I groaned on hearing this. “I heard that, what was it for?” Rebecca asked as we approached the others who were seated on the oval. “I just mentioned the reunion invitation,” Marcus replied. “I had no idea until now, as I haven’t been home to check my mail yet, and my grandparents usually just stack any mail of mine on my desk and leave it there till I come home,” I explained. We had an enjoyable dinner out at the tavern in Seabird and returned to relax and retire early. The next morning, a

“Make that three friends, as we have picked up a new friend at Yulara and he has travelled with us since. He is an apprentice Chef, and he cooks excellent meals. His name is Jamison,” I informed Marcus. “I know a guy by the name of Jamison, who is slightly younger and went to the local Grammar school,” Marcus said to me and although surprised at this news I chuckled, “Is his last name Edgar and he lives in Caversham?” I asked, “Wow, it’s the same guy. I went to primary school with him, he is a n

Just a bit of a connection with Carnegie Stn. I have driven on a 15 km section of the western end of the Gunbarrel Highway, when my Brother owned Carnegie for three years. it is beautiful country, but also very wild and rugged. Always had to be prepared for anything and everything.

That was a very quick read of the chapter Christopher....

“Sure, we can accommodate you here tonight with no problems, but you won’t be able to go any further south on the Great Central Road. There was a mining truck explosion in the middle of the road, about 60 kilometres before Cosmo Newbury, and about 400 kilometres from here. You have two options, first is you can hang around here for up to a week until the police open the highway again, or you can go back for about 34 kilometres and turn left onto Patjarr Road, which takes you 36 kilometres to Jac
