  1. Oh, like everything has to make sense all of a sudden.
  2. Yes, because it is exhausting. The heart wants what the heart wants.
  3. Another great walk today. Saw nothing of note, but more leaves have fallen. I did hear an angry bird screeching at me in the woods. Couldn't make out what kind it was, but it was pissed.
  4. Not to be a downer, but here's a poem I wrote a long time ago about a fox... your post made me remember it. Chapter 59 Roadkill Shimmering plumage spreads Catching sunlight As vultures bob and lift Exposing fresh carnage The journey of life Ended on pavement Quick and empty Valiant fight to survive not to be No hunt occurred Giving honor to this death Only the slam of steel and rubber To deliver an insignificant end Life is cruel But this was never nature’s intent The will to survive was not engaged By a worthy foe You lay as garbage An afterthought to be scavenged The savage beauty of predation Played no part in your demise As I continue past, giving berth The reddish luster impacts And the glory of your brush Still moves with the wind I honor you, and I will remember Child of the mother Somewhere, I imagine kits mewling Further victims of life’s unnatural speed Thanks for reading. I have given up on hoping drivers will slow down. Many believe country roads are racetracks, and 'fair game,' but the animals don't stand a chance. Copyright © 2017 Headstall; All Rights Reserved.
  5. My mom and aunt used to make it. They would do it together, and it was amazing. I found one that tastes similar, and I buy a bunch of it every year. I forget the name, but I recognize the packaging when I see it. Hey, dugh and Mum.
  6. Leafs beat Detroit 2-0
  7. Toronto/Montreal preseason game tonight.
  8. I just had a soul restoring walk around the paddock and then in the woods. Found three turkey tailfeathers, and found what might be the start of a fox den dug under the snakerail fence along my boundary line. There is a large boulder over it, and a few smaller ones piled by a farmer at some point in the past. I love foxes.
  9. Wonderful... I found the rhythm in it easily, and the sentiment is something I understand well.
  10. The only Christmas item I look forward to is fruitcake. Hey, Tink.
  11. You're smarter than I thought, buddy.
  12. Oh, dear Lord! It's a city in Texas... in the right side up world.
  13. Of course, I'm a Leaf fan.
  14. Dallas had a good run last year.
  15. No no no... hockey first!! Hey, Brother B.
  16. Hello, all! Hockey season is soooo close.
  17. It was a slow night, Jeff.
  18. Seems like you've been 29 for three years now.
  19. Thanks for your devotion to this story, my friend. I admit I got choked up again while rereading this. It was a long arduous journey for me at the time, but I wouldn't change a thing. It still makes me proud to have written this.

    New Perspectives

Such an intense chapter to piece together, buddy. This was a culmination of a lifelong journey for Kellar and an incredible one for Fendral as well. I might be biased, but I think there was a lot of emotional beauty in this one. It's always sad to be so near the end of a story, and you know how I feel about this one. Thanks and cheers!
  21. Yeah, but it does get harder to swing your leg over.
  22. You're preaching to the choir, dude.
