Lol. I have to agree with you, Albert, cocky as that may sound. When love is done right, there are fireworks for sure. I love leaving them content in the tent, close as close can be, and true partners in life.

Don't you just love seeing Coy this way, no longer hearing Will and his mother in his ear, free to make his choices? It was very empowering to write this man who was afraid to admit his love for another man. This is the same Coy, but it is a different Coy too. He is in possession of his power and his sense of self, and that is what I tried to show here... that he made his choice, and he was the one doing the convincing. Glad you got that, buddy. There is such power to love, and I have heard so many times that romantic is sappy. I kind of feel sorry for those people... whether warranted or not. I like this new Coy, and I love the peace they both feel on this soon to be new land of theirs. I don't think I've enjoyed anything in my writing more that their exploration of the property and how it all fell into place. Heaven on earth? Possibly. Thanks, buddy.

It's not often I write sequels, but I couldn't ignore the voices in my head that urged me to write "Larkspur", the sequel to this one. Those two books have been an incredible ride for me, and hopefully for the readers. Cheers, my friend, and thank you for your support.

When I envisioned Larkspur, I saw a place new and fresh and clean, filled with hardworking, decent folk committed to making the town a success. So yeah, a perfect town. Milled lumber is a big deal for sure. One thin it would provide is straight roofing and flat even floors. I built the inside of my first barn out of small and medium-sized cedar logs... they worked good for the stall walls and fronts, and for the loft supports, but I needed good lumber for the doors and the loft floor. Lots of log cabins in those times had dirt floors and log and sod roofs, less than ideal for what Boone wants, so he'd be happy with Will Merrick's mill being so close and affordable. And yes, nails come by stage coach and supply wagons, something that became mass produced much earlier. Boone and Coy are aware something is up with Phineas Lemon, so they won't be fooled. The bank is a big deal too. Banks by this time were insuring clients money, whereas before, if a bank got robbed you could lose all your money. All in all, it's looking good so far. Thanks, Albert!

Thanks, Albert. Yeah, they are doing a bit of a dance right now, but I think they have been steadily clearing the air. Boone does love Coy, he's made no bones about it, but he won't put any pressure on Coy. He feels he did that once, and wants Coy to figure himself out without any influence from him. I see his point... Coy was not allowed to be himself with his evil brother around, so now he can be, and he no longer needs Boone. If he sticks close after they reach Larkspur, it will be because he wants to. And yes, Boone is cautious with his heart, but who can blame him? Thanks for all your support and your kind, encouraging words.

Finally watched two seasons of "Euphoria". Took me a while, but I finished a couple of days ago. Whelp. Very dark for the most part, but well done. Last night I binged the entire season of "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story" while I babysat my daughter's two dogs. It was surprisingly entertaining. New season of "The Mandalorian" before that.

The thing about reviews is that they have the power to convince someone to read that work... to give it a chance when they might normally not have because of the genre or the subject matter or length... or some other reason. The more reviews a story has, the more impact they have, not to mention they make this author feel good about the work and time he put into creating something good. It's why I really wanted one from you for "Morningstar". With each new review, interest is stirred back up in the story, and that makes me happy. No, not much difference at all. I enjoyed it, though. They're sweet dogs. I did sleep pretty good, though I got up early to visit with my daughter and her hubby before they left.
