I let readers decide how they felt about Richard. I gave an honest portrayal of a man struggling to find his sexuality while being in love with someone of the wrong gender. I judge Richard, and how he did things, but to this day I haven't pinned down what my feelings are about him. There is some of my life in this story, bits and pieces... I faced judgement from the community because I took a different route, and had my four kids. There was so much pain during that time.... That kiss, though, that was so not cool. Richard might be happy, but he's messed up too. Sad. Thanks, Benny. This chapter has me in my feelings. Cheers!

Drake is at war with himself. He has this defensive mode he goes into where he uses his stubbornness as a shield. Hurt people resort to all kinds of defaults. In his heart, he knows Jimmy is genuine, but his head won't allow him the room to evolve on this one point. He does not trust those who weren't always sure of their sexuality. The saddest thing is, it sounds like Jimmy always was sure. Victoria was never going to be a lasting thing. What happened to Jimmy was awful, and highlights the difference in the two men. Drake is not a bad person, but he would do well to let Jimmy rub off on him. Baggage can rob us of opportunities for love if we let it. Thanks, my friend. I am enjoying this.

I don't even try to use my phone for commenting. It's too frustrating. I'm old, and am stubborn in staying with a 17" laptop my kids make fun off. "Dad, it's too big!" They wanted to buy me a tablet, but I warned them not to.

I love how you give a synopsis in your comments, quoting pivotal lines. Yeah, Drake is running. He's good at it. I don't think I've written another character who shows his love in every word and action, always honest and authentic. Did I already say I love Jimmy? Two and a half years later, and Richard still holds some power over Drake. I know that feeling. Thanks, Benny! Cheers!

I love cross country train rides. The subway, not so much. Your other comment was for chapter four... chapter 3, the altercation between Preston and them in the kitchen was an important one for me. Maybe it's a bit of social commentary, but it hits at the heart of that attitude gay folk have to face all the time. Sure, sex is part of any relationship, but it's not all we are, and Preston needs to rot in hell for the things he said to his brother. Jimmy, though, deserves a medal. Cheers!

Jimmy is a brave guy, and he's not afraid of anything. He's being true to himself in confronting his feelings head on, and he's being true to both of them whether Drake realizes it or not. The revelations from Dot explain a lot of things in chapter four. I don't know any family, at least in mine, that doesn't have big secrets. Preston's insecurity is kind of sad, but it's hard to feel sorry for him. Thanks, friend. Love being back here with these guys. Cheers... G.

The finality of it... the loss of opportunities between you... is a difficult thing to navigate. Acceptance is the first hurdle, and maybe the hardest one. Remember to take care of yourself, brother.

Sorry, bro. That is so sad.

You aren't the only one who hopes for that, Benny. I think we are seeing already just how complicated this whole situation is for Drake. It's kind of a slow reveal as to his past and the power it holds over him. I just reread this chapter and am right back into it. Jimmy is a rockstar! Hope you stick with it... it's a journey with never a dull moment. Thanks and cheers. Gary

Without a doubt, Jimmy still lives in my head. I love the guy. Thanks for bringing me back to this, Benny. After finishing up Morningstar, which was such an intense, time consumng, and immersive experience, I needed to write a human drama of a different sort. I had a blast posting this. Yeah, you caught that, eh? Jimmy sees an opportunity. As another reader said, what could possibly go wrong. Thanks for reading, friend. Cheers!

Rebel with a cause. My favorite fish are Roseline sharks (Denison Barbs), but I won't be ready for months. I'm doing a planted tank this time, my first ever, and using the Walstad method which is a no water change, balanced environment if I do it right. The only maintenance will be topping up the water. Every time I did a water change in the past I lost fish, and that was discouraging. I used to pay $40 each for Roselines, but it appears now they have come down quite a bit in price.

Oh, I got in deep shit with my kids today. I've been thinking of getting back into aquariums, and I saw a sale on a 75 gallon tank that ends Sunday($100 off). I called the store and they only had one left, and they would only hold it for me a few hours. So... I got dressed warmly... and drove an hour to get it. I wore a mask, and the roads weren't too bad, and I didn't have to lift it... just had to walk in the store and pay for it... but my son called and asked where I was. My DIL called him at work and told him I was out. I told him and he was not happy. Then my daughter called me. Yikes! Yes, it was very tiring, and yes, I didn't feel great, but it was good for my head to actually do something. I'm not sorry. Pffft.

I did it. I finished the new chapter, though it is riddled with typos. Feel like crap, but I'm used to that.
