I had the worst night, with a rapid heartbeat. I was woken up after midnight by some banging which turned out to be my son and DIL leaving. It scared the crap out of me. All the lights were on upstairs and outside and I didn't know where they were going. I convinced myself they were making a late night fast food run, but it turned out he went to the hospital because one side of his face was numb. So much for me and my heart calming down. I didn't hear from them after a text until 7am. No sleep until after that, but I slept a couple of hours after they got home. He's okay... for now, but he has a lesion on his brain we've known about for a while, and the doc said it might have caused the numbness. Scary shit.
Craig was a dear friend, and his stories were indeed a balm for readers. I adored this story, the simple premise and warmth of it, and I miss Craig every single day. I always looked forward to chatting with him. Please read this and give him some love. Cheers! Gary.
Communion
The moon calls to me this eve,
a familiar beckoning when I am bereft
She exerts her pull gently
to draw me forth
from my stagnant warmth,
and into a bracing fall chill
Her light, three-quarters full,
bathes a man three-quarters empty,
but the sight of her stirs me to reach for the still,
outer first, embracing it
so the inner stillness can emerge
into the silence of this night
There is much to
The matter of fact telling made for easy reading. I enjoyed this, and believe it is not so far fetched as we might think, with all the chemicals we've put into the natural world. I remember seeing for the first time how fast an alligator could move while on a foggy golf course of my parent's vacation home/complex. I don't think I've ever run faster.
My brain must be really twisted because I thought you were going to have Hunter's reattached fingers turn him into a Hellbender hybrid. Glad that didn't happen. Well done, sir. Cheers... Gary
Sunny Sunday here. I should be able to get my painting done today, except for a second coat on the white. Have an awesome day, rejects... and dugh and Mum.
