Danny's warning is one David better pay attention to -- but we know how his mind wanders. The only hope for 'PPF and her' is to be hiding somewhere in the jungles of Brazil.

    Thanks jess! You know, you have asked all the right questions. I know they are because I can't answer them without giving stuff away. So keep reading (hehe), but most of the answers will be rolling around pretty fast, well as fast as things get in David's world.

    Thanks Carl! Joining Danny is, unfortunately, a distinct possibility if David doesn't start getting less clueless - fast! I think by the end of the chapter, clueless David finally put vixere all together. He won't be surprised if they end up dead.

    Thanks CG! I think you are very correct that Danny's warning does not apply to the joining of David and Twoey. And that makes it all the more ominous.

    Thanks Parker! Rocklike and stable. Now who in his life could that be? Gary? Sam? Alex? Randy? Do any of them seem to be what he needs? There is only one more major character of "18 Weeks" yet to emerge. Could a thin and wiry freshman fit the bill? Seems unlikely. We'll watch though.

    Thanks so much Spikey! These are really focused comments and you certainly see some of the problems which lie ahead. He's got three major problems: his orientation, his abuse and his attraction to Twoey. He's only aware of the latter, and because of the first two, there can be no resolution of the latter. So, I guess, first things first -- right?

    Thank you so much, Hunter! You're comments are all the reward I need as a (new) writer. I'm blushing. Somewhere in the "18 Weeks" story blog there is a little statement by me about the beating. It might give you an interesting perspective. Your work sounds incredibly heroic, and yes you could have been in danger. Not all conservatives are wacko and resort to violence, but even the minority who do make what you did dangerous.

    Thanks Hunter! You are correct re: David. If Putin is part of his buried subconscious, then we have the reasoning of a 15 year old at work. Being smart doesn't necessarily make someone wise.

    Thanks Parker! You might be correct about how those two got wrapped into welcoming arms after their traumas. And with David in denial, it was probably the only way Twoey could go. But now they each seem to be aware that it's not the way they want it. Will either be strong enough? Will both?

    Thanks Def! Yes, I think you've got Twoey understood pretty well. It's sad, but it almost had to happen the way it did. At this point in time, David is a non-starter, and Erik was really Twoey's only choice. And you're right, he couldn't have anticipated what was to develop.

    Thanks Carl! At this point, Twoey/David is about as far from possible as possible ...hehe. The only ray of hope is that David is worried about Twoey and Twoey is worried about slipping away from David. So there obviously IS a line between them, frayed as it is. David's dreams indicate something emerging for sure. When it does, things could get bad fast if he's not lying on some shrink's couch, don't you think?

    I'm not sure we can be too hard on Twoey, aside from picking Erik (or being picked by Erik). He really came to believe David is straight and therefore offered him no hope. I'm sure he would have worked at it a little longer (would it even have helped?) except for Erik's sudden proposal. And aside from flitty Matty and dead Danny, Erik was the only boy Twoey had ever been with. Alex seems to be pointing out stuff to David you've been saying all along. Maybe she'll be good for him.

    Well things went pretty much as expected for Devin/Alex, really. What else could have happened? My only question is about Thanksgiving. I live in two countries. One has Thanksgiving on a Monday in October, the other on a Thursday in November. Who has it on a Saturday?
