Thanks, avidreadr! I'll miss them too. I guess Mom was never going to become reborn. Thanks for following Toph and for your support!
-
Thanks, spikey! Yep. It was nice seeing that Gary had his own set of frustrations! Thanks for following and leaving these deep reviews. Even if they rant against me, I love them! You're much appreciated.
-
Thanks, Randy! Even Toph was surprised by his dad. Thanks for following and all your support. It means a lot.
-
Thanks, Lux! I'm happy-sad too. Thanks for all your support!
-
Thanks, Parker! And thanks for following and supporting Toph! (He thanks you too.)
-
Thanks, AC! Yes, surely Toph knew it was a confrontation he needed to have before he met the rest of the family! I think once it was over, once he had confronted the worst of them, he was better able to accept the rest of the family. Thanks for all your support!

Thanks, Def! Yes, Sarah is sure in the right field -- hehe. You're right about the former PPFers. I think even Chuck was aware when he said there were still some religious cavemen around. What can he possibly do about religious cavemen though? You have good intuition re: Martha and her little brother.

Sometimes things in life strike you with the force of lightning. Sometimes you hurt a person you love. When there is no possible “I’m sorry” to make up for it, you may turn to poetry in an attempt to make sense of it – even if only to yourself. The Size of a Word Inconsequentiality, Webster claims, Specifies an event of no importance. “It’s so long at eighteen letters!” One exclaims, “So only should define a major grievance!” Yet turning the trick around, we use short names De

Thanks, jess! Maybe it's because these characters are mostly seniors about to graduate, while Twoey's characters were mainly entering sophomores? I'm not sure even Chuck understands exactly what he wants to do, but I'm pretty sure it will be triggered by Shawn's attempt on his life.
-
Thanks, Lux! Oh, dear! I have done that a few times, haven't I? Maybe I should seek therapy.
-
Thanks, Spikey! At this point, maybe we should take her explanation on face value. That she was disturbed how Chuck had separated his personal life from his school life. But, on the other hand, is that so unusual? Luckily, Martha was skeptical of the 'old' church, if I remember correctly. So, at least Shawn should have an ally in the family.
-
Thanks, Parker! Yes, there isn't much doubt about the end of their relationship. But like Chuck said, if it's meant to be, they'll be together again in four or five years. Yeah, leftovers. Pretty ugly, huh?
-
Thanks, Jay! And thanks for resisting the shiny things too. Now that all the background is sort of out of the way, Chuck will be able to dig into his project. I hope you enjoy.
-
Thanks, CG! Yes, the evils brewed by hatred don't seem to have any expiration date -- certainly shown very clearly in the current U.S. election campaign. Maybe we'll discover Shawn's 'breaking point' before long.

Like Gary mentioned, as you reveal more and more about Alan and Peter, they are becoming a couple I really care about. Well done! At least in this chapter, Alan seems to be coping a bit better than his bewildering chapter two. Yeah, I knew the grandparents (at least the grandmother) were going to challenge. Just what the boys need, right? And that applies to either set of boys! Very full and interesting chapter, Graeme!
-
I somehow missed this chapter when it was posted. Whew! If your intent was to create a windstorm of duties and problems buffeting Alan on Day One, you sure succeeded! I think I need to rest for 15 before delving into chapter 3 -- hehe. Graeme, this was really a very well described chapter, as wave after wave of problems and snags washed over the two guys. Hopefully, they'll be able to create their own little system and return some normalcy to the kids' lives. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry most of the time!

Yikes! Good Luck and lots of concern from this dragon! Love you, tim!

Livin' in the Future
skinnydragon commented on Carlos Hazday's story chapter in Livin' in the Future
Well, Owen is certainly getting a quick education of CJ's world, and it seems he's liking it. Great interaction with CJ and his grandparents plus we learn more backstory about his father and uncle. On top of it all, there is the airboat ride and neat concert. Owen may never want to return to his home! All around fun chapter, Carlos! -
Last paragraphs of chapter 2: “Normally, we’d talk about this in my ‘office,’ but I see time is – uh – getting short for you. So, when will be a good time for the interview?” This stunning about-face from me results in two physical reactions. The first is a squeal from Sarah. The second is a heavy pound to my upper arm from my boyfriend. “Ouch! That hurt!” I begin to rub my arm. “You never told me you were going to change your mind!” “Well, I hadn’t quite decided yet. If I told you I wa

Thanks, Gary! Yeah, Teddy-Toph sounds like an unbeatable combo. Too much speculation is right. Things are just at the turning point for Toph, he's really starting to emerge from behind his walls. Hopefully, he'll be rewarded.
-
Thanks, Gary! I think all the 'Gary hate' comes from readers paying too close attention to Toph's view -- which is to be expected, because it's the only view we have. Always a dangerous situation for a reader. Anyway, Toph has come out all right with no damaging side effects.
-
Thanks, Gary! It sure does sound like Steve had the blond moment as his goal, doesn't it? I think I might agree with you too about Gary. Hindsight is 20-20 and Toph would probably have reacted as you said, and not as he said. At least this way he gets he job. Gary's starting to use his head. hehe.

Chapter 31 Poetry Prompt 15-Free Verse- Storm Battle
skinnydragon commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 31 Poetry Prompt 15-Free Verse- Storm Battle
WOW, Gary! Well, actually two wows. One is CG's review, which is a whole nother thing! But the wowwest part of your poem, to me, above and beyond the fine verse, above and beyond the brilliant description, is the tempo of the storm. Was it in my mind or did I actually hear the words get louder and surge ahead, just a bit faster, as the storm became more menacing? And then as it receded and the sun reappeared, it slowed and slowed and finally smiled. Man, that was brilliantly done! -
Two Poems for Your Consideration
skinnydragon commented on Mikiesboy's story chapter in Two Poems for Your Consideration
Two meaningful poems on hurt. The first is the hurt to our world, the second to our soul. Beautifully expressed, tim. -
Interview Ask An Author #44
skinnydragon commented on Renee Stevens's blog entry in Gay Authors News
A very interesting interview, Dark -- and with one of my favorite writers! Now I need to get my act together and send you some questions! We don't want this blog to become a Dark Hole -- er, Black Hole.
