  1. We’ve had the pros in before. They know exactly what they’re doing and they do it safely. Plus, they get rid of the debris. Hail we did not get, just two inches of heavy rain in a very short time. Oh, and high winds, of course. Edit: Wait a minute. You had hail today? It was really hot here, but sunny, but as I’m typing this I think I hear thunder… I’m not worried really. She’ll find out pretty quick if she tries holding the cutter thingie in the air that she’s out of her league.
  2. Sadly, it’s more like living in a dream world. The branch is at least 10 to 12 feet off the ground, so there is zero chance of either of us bringing that branch down safely. Heck, we have two neighbours- one is really tall - who’d probably volunteer to do it, but my mom said no to that in case they got hurt. I mean, if she’s entertaining the idea that able bodied males might get hurt, what makes her ignore that as a possibility if one of us tried?
  3. It’s been hot here, and when it’s not I’ve been weeding. Oh, and we had high winds and heavy rain a couple of days ago. The storm snapped a branch - at least 3 inches in diameter - clean off the very tall Maple tree on our front lawn. It fell through the tree and is now hung up on the trunk quite high up. It’s long enough that its end branches - much smaller, thankfully - ended up crashing into the Rose of Sharon shrub/tree in front of the bay window. Good thing the branch got hung up or it might have hit the window. I did manage to break off the smaller branches to free the Rose of Sharon, but the rest of it won’t budge, so a call has been put into the tree people to come deal with it. PS: My mom (who will be 88 next month) has asked more than once if we can handle it ourselves because my dad used a branch cutting thing on an extendable pole for situations like this. Given her age, and the fact she is now shorter than my 5’1”, and she’s never done anything like this before I keep telling her no, absolutely not. Never mind my brothers would have my hide if I let her try. *sigh*
  4. To all my American DiCer friends…
  5. Good night molly…happy dreams
  6. Glad you liked it, molly. She has a whole channel full of dancing videos as she’s quite the little diva. Most of them are short, so they’re good for a quick pick me
  7. The weird thing was she hadn’t done anything wrong. She asked me for information which I didn’t have. Her response was to tell the people asking for said information I refused to help her. To top it off, she cc’d me on the email otherwise I’d have never known she threw me under the bus. To this day, I can’t figure out her thought process. Luckily, I knew one of the nurses who received the email, and she knew better than to believe I was deliberately being unhelpful.
  8. Yay for hubby. As for the bus thing, that’s happened to me as well. It really sucks when people do something so mean.
  9. There’s quite a few videos of her dancing on their channel. The way she prances around throwing up one or both wings to all different kinds of music is really precious. She truly is a happy girl now.
  10. Okay, I just have to share this because Griffi the Cockatoo is a day brightener. Her previous home situation wasn’t good so she stress pulled out all of her feathers. Her new “mom and dad” dote on her, so she’s a happy dancing bird now.
  11. Me neither, actually. I’m just enjoying the wonderful weather right now as it’s supposed to turn to T-storms this afternoon. Anyway, at least you don’t have to deal with customer issues today, so that’s something. You and Mike can spend a day where it’s just about the two of you. See ya laterz…
  12. Happy Canada Day @Mikiesboy and @MichaelS36 I hope you both have a great day.

    The Date

Aw, they’re sweet together. I like this instalment of their story - nice pacing and very believable. Thanks, tim.
  14. I missed this. How did I miss this???? Ah, but it turned out okay, because it’s a bonus read for me now. Good start, tim. Now, back to the sequel…
  15. I saw this word on the Forum homepage. I pronounced it in my head. This is where my mind went.
  16. Good morning all.. Read this and just had to share it with you. Makes you go 🤔 it does. https://globalnews.ca/news/7980189/exorcism-home-depot-lumber-wood/amp/
  17. Cute! If the Pillsbury Dough Boy and Casper the Ghost had a baby, this is what he’d look like.

    Rainbow Waffles

That was a lovely wee tale. Jake and Connor seem like the type of people I would like in my world. As for Bill? All I can think about is he and his kind must “live” in a sad and dark place to be the way they are. As always, nicely done, tim, nicely done.
  19. Nope, sorry it’s real all right. I mean, Merrimack-Webster wouldn’t get it wrong, surely? https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/flapdoodle
  20. @spyke My tongue is much more colourful than yours all thanks to my Tartan temper, which would be in overdrive if I were to encounter this asshat.
  21. What I’m thinking is not fit to print. I hope Jack will be okay, Kitt.
  22. *waves hello* I watched my niece’s piano recital on Zoom. No idea how it works. I just clicked on the link my brother sent via email. Didn’t utter a sound while watching because I had no clue how the audio on Zoom worked. Also, I put my tablet down because I could see my face in the corner of the screen, and I was roughing it in my jammies, so I wanted to hide. I mean, we’ve all heard about those unfortunate Zoom stories, haven’t we?

    Chapter 1

I should also mention, I found this to be quite endearing as well. But then again, Hell seems like an awesome place, so there’s that.
  24. A really great short story that is worth your time to read it.
