  1. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Chris
  2. Thank you, Mike, and the same to you and yours as well. 😊
  3. If the steps are inside, do like I did when I broke my foot. On his butt one step at a time. Steps can be a disaster if one has not mastered the technique or has crap balance — ask me how I know… ETA: Oh, and that’s how my dad managed it after breaking his ankle curling when he was 83.
  4. I mix hot chocolate with French Vanilla coffee (Nescafé instant single serve sachet) and you’re right, it really does hit the spot.
  5. I hope all goes well for your Grandma.
  6. Leading up to the holidays, I’m making Healthy Gingerbread Oatmeal Breakfast cookies, which I will bake tomorrow as it is supposed to snow all day… https://amyshealthybaking.com/blog/2023/11/11/healthy-gingerbread-oatmeal-breakfast-cookies/?utm_id=flo&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter The main Christmas treatswill be chocolate chip shortbread cookies, and everyone’s favourite, homemade dinner… or lunch… or snack or whichever comes first. Cirrently on the look out for dried sage leaves for the stuffing, because it’s currently out of stock (should have grabbed it last week when I saw it then), but I’m not worried I’m sure they’ll get more. If not, I’ll buy fresh sage, though we’ve not used that before.
  7. Aww, tim, this is absolutely wonderful! As an aside, the first stanza (I think I’m remembering that right) had me thinking you and I were looking out the same window.
  8. I’d wear them, because they look super cosy. Also they’re super cute! Pizza on Earth - clever play on words, and yeah, pizza Christmas trees are an awesome idea.
  9. I was grocery shopping yesterday morning and there was a guy shopping as well who was wearing shorts. Casual shorts and not the work out kind which might have made a bit of sense. Can’t remember the actual temperature, but it was probably mid 20sF.
  10. A man who knows what he wants in other words. 👍🏻
  11. Oh, I don’t know about that. “Pizza” socks sound kinda cool if you ask me. Mine are knitted with reindeer or evergreen tree patterns. Found them in Dollarama a few years back, and they’re now an absolute must every winter. I’m actually wearing a pair right now.
  12. I’m wearing slipper socks over my socks, so I’d say that counts as two pairs. Standard fare for me in winter, because damn are they cosy and warm.
  13. Thanks for the tips! 👍🏻👍🏻 I toast the naans a bit to warm them up (I keep them in the fridge). I then put a generous dollop of salsa in the middle (pc single servenaans) and top that with a slice of real cheddar cheese. Microwave (don’t have a toaster oven atm) on high for 20 seconds and boy are they tasty for lunch.
  14. Sounds really nice. Maybe, I’ll try my luck with them. I usually just buy the PC naans, which I forgot to put on today’s shopping list. 🤦‍♀️
  15. I saw at least three people wearing shorts last month. Mind you, it was before that week of snow we had, so there’s that.
  16. Definitely the best way to go, spyke. We haven’t had much snow as yet in southern Ontario, and I’m guite fine with that.
  17. Star Trek was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the notification for today’s Word of the Day.
  18. Not literal this time, thankfully.
  19. I have both in the cupboard, so I’m going to try this right now. Because, as the saying goes “no time like the present”! ETA: Rats! A little “mouse” ate the last one. Oh wells…
  20. I wonder if that’s a subliminal message it does just what the name says?
  21. Personally, I prefer the salt n’ vinegar ones, but the chocolate ones are definitely nice, too. 👍🏻👍🏻
