Another sad addition to all the things that have happened to Ox. Having a nephew who served in Iraq and suffers to this day from PTSD, I fully agree that the government's response to the needs of vets is woefully inadequate. It is criminal negligence in my book.
I suspected from what we learned about Ox in the second book, that he has been at least gay friendly for a very long time. Bunny's death was very sad, and Andy letting Ox know he forgave him was very special.
Paying a good deed forward can work well for the giver as well as the receiver. Where good karma is earned, it can also be returned with dividends. Check it out!
The Boot Three Years On is a wonderful tale of love and life of people facing the challenges of being homeless. It is the second book of The Boot series, so I recommend the reader start with The Boot which is book one. The characters in the book are engaging and will capture your heart. The struggles they face and overcome will bring you joy. I highly recommend this delightful tale!
The Old Shoe Factory is the new name, but I would have changed it slightly to The New Boot Factory. I have an idea that the assembled team will be even better than the bigot Project Manager that just quit.
Ian is doing well and together with Kevin is building their business. He's also making a name for himself as a jeweler. I bet he starts getting requests for custom jewelry. The Boot now has a new location that sounds like it will be much better for their friends.
Finally! Andy and John can now move into a closer relationship that might lead to happiness for both of them. I hope they can get the building at a reasonable price.
Andy is a hero! Great chapter. Now if Steve can't convince John to make a move, I hope he enlists the Major and John's Aunt Evans to put the pressure on.
I hate that it has taken an injury to Andy to get these two clear their heads and figure out they are attracted to each other. Hope all is well for the young lady. I'm glad the police guard is smart enough to leave them, and Steve is going to check out the young lady.
The arrival of the twins was a big surprise for everyone. I expect a lot of support for the family from all their friends. Major now has two grandsons as was made very clear by Beccy and Jim. I dread the news of the church being demolished will not be taken well by John and the staff of The Boot.
The wedding was beautifully written. I had to laugh that the baby decided it was the perfect time to be born. Now both parents will be listed with their married names on the birth certificate.
Poor Andy and John. I hope Andy gets the courage, John give up on his denial or they both get frustrated and let something slip. They need to stop wasting time and get together. It is great that both JJ and Danny were adopted.
Manny has been a great boss, and now proves to be a wonderful friend for the boys. Major is spending his money wisely by supporting his sons.
The wedding announcement was delightful.
Wow! What an excellent chapter. I hope someone gets a clue...no, make that two someones. It would be nice for John to have someone for his own. Andy and John are making a lot of bad assumptions. Steve and Kate can see it, and I think it is probably apparent to others like Jeff.
Do what you do best lady! We'll be waiting in the corner patiently for you..except for certain timekeepers who will be running around in circle in a panic.
Jeff is doing a great job in helping Ian and Kevin get Ox back on the road to recovery. PTSD is a real problem that adversely affects the life of a person as well as their friends and families.
