A lot of interesting pieces to the puzzle are now falling into place. I didn't expect that the antagah were composed of humans, or that they were unaware that they had died. That the Madracorn left that information for Charlie to discover was also a bit surprising. Jol being the Baron was not surprising after the hints in the last chapter. Also, the fact that Horace was given the gift by Tanna Terail was not surprising. She sensed that Horace is much like her, someone who is searching knowledge about spirits of the dead. The part of her body that turned into a ring was a gift. This reinforces my belief that Tanna Terail is a living being stationed as an observer for her people in this plane. The ring would be not exist in the living world if she were a ghost. Great chapter Geron.

BTW is Elvira any relation to Elvira Mistress of the Dark?

The trail quickly escalated to a High Species Court Trial. Lord Caspian cordially welcomed Konstantin's group and everything seemed to be going well. When Caspian announced why the two were being tried before the High Species Court, it made sense considering what both Mother and Henri were doing. What doesn't make sense to me is why the crowd seemed to turn hostile on Konstantin's group. Konstantin has obviously been injured and considering that he was surrounded by his group, I would suspect the injury was caused magically. However, I have not idea who might be behind the attack. It could have been one of the Delacours or maybe Gideon. At this point they are the only ones in the room that seem hostile to Konstantin.

Charlie and friends had an interesting introduction to Jol. I like that he is willing and able to help them. The Baron sounds like an interesting person with a lot in common with Robin. Too bad Robin wasn't included this time. I bet the Baron and he would have a lot to talk about. Tanna Terail and her kind are a mystery, but her ability to summons the antagah is an interesting twist. I am looking forward to meeting her. I do wonder if she is a real ghost or a living person stationed in this plane to observe what is happening. There is a hint that she is like our group and just a guest here. This chapter and the comments have many fascinating ideas to consider.
