Degan has done his best as the alpha, and now it is up to Tahryn and Kurt to lead the new pack. It may be small, but there are some very powerful and skilled people. There are a lot of possibilities for the new pack as it grows. Another wonderful chapter.
-
It's about time these two started to figure things out. Deoran has provided a vital connection and Kurt has finally shown he knows how to become a great alpha along side of his mate. If a pack has two alphas, maybe they warrant at least two betas also...or three. Great chapter!

I agree with Mary and Layla that it was dumb of Tahryn to use the term pup, but it seems he got even more stupid when he got home with Kurt. Tahryn should have celebrated in what he got, and not try to go further until he could see how Kurt reacted to what had already happened. Of course, he got over anxious and made even more mistakes. Deoran's comment has me very interested. Has he some experience with reconciling his human/wolf split also? Great chapter. I was happy that Tahryn at least asked permission. I thought for a moment he was going to rape Kurt.

The South Sea Pack has an interesting and dangerous situation as a pack. Alpha Conan is too young to retire, but the pack now has a pair of Mated Alphas. Tahryn, Kurt, Chaska and Jene will all have to leave the pack. Deoran is suspicious and might also be a danger. What better way to spy on packs than as an itinerant teacher. Alpha Degan is very smart, and I am sure he is aware and concerned about northern alpha wannabes and even whole packs moving south. He might be thinking a couple of strong allied packs as neighbors would be a good idea. Which leads me to wonder if he chose the adjudicator from the New Forest Pack for more than the reason Degan stated.

I meant to ask if Max is too old for trick or treating on Halloween? If not what character will he be?
-
Good Morning Bucket! How's Spring down under treating you? How's your dad?
-
Hi Page! We are doing well. It's quiet here, but the weather is improving now that the rainy season is ending. How are you, Morgan and Max?
-
Me too! BTW when did @weinerdog grow a beard?😯

Great questions and I don't think you are overthinking this. Changes do need to happen, and unfortunately or fortunately both Jay and Loren seem to be stubborn.
-
I am sure you can imagine where this sentence took me. My brain had to go take a shower. Jay's skills on the field are flipping guys in all directions. Out of his way! Can he use the same skills to get closer to Loren? If so, Loren is in for one heck of a ride!

Neither Tahryn and Kurt are nor in a good place now. Kurt is like a person suffering from dissociative identity disorder, and Tahryn from PTSD after the rape. This shifter universe is in sore need of psychologists to help people through this kind of thing.

This is an interesting chapter with the rape and Kurt about to make a declaration of being a mate to Tahryn. Kobe did rape Tahryn, but considering all we know about Toby, I am hoping he learns and is given a second chance. This is going to make things much more difficult for Kurt, but hopefully it will help him to become a kinder and gentler wolf. I was surprised that he was made an enforcer for simply capturing Tobe. Kurt still has many demons to overcome. One is how he treats those who are too human for his comfort, and another for his arrogance and lack of respect for rules. People in the positions of enforcing laws need to have standards and ethics that uphold society, not tear it down.

No comment. I still have 6 days to .

Tahryn at one time Koby was his type, but Kurt drove all thoughts of that out of Tahryn's mind. I don't suppose there are any bonded or fated mate in this universe. If so that might explain some of their reactions. In some sense, to me it seems that Tahryn and Kurt are much alike in their abilities to read others. Kurt believes he can as a wolf, but he definitely is not able to read Tahryn. Either that or his wolf is very paranoid. If he can't get control of his wolf, he will become a lone wolf. He doesn't seem to be able to function in a normal pack.
-
Tahryn and Kurt are very different in a way that will make it difficult to become mates. Tahryn is so peaceful and trusting. He lacks confidence in his wolf and in his human abilities to understand the body language of wolver. Kurt is strongly confident in his wolf and it's dominance of his domain. He hates his human and perceives it as week. It is interesting that Tahryn thinks of Kurt as sexy in both forms as does Kurt. Kurt should realize that being a shifter is a gift of both worlds. He needs to reign in his wolf to allow his human to integrate with the wolf. The Alpha seems to understand and is worried about how Kurt could disrupt the peace of the pack if he doesn't change. I don't want to pity Toby, but he seems too good of a character to be left without a mate, and in between the other two in a no win situation.

I like stories that begin by developing the characters well. It makes a better start for me, because I feel closer to the character. This means that I can feel more like an observer of the action than a reader of a book. I also like that there is enough description of the setting and behaviors to create a base for the plot. Like I said, this is a very good start, and I'm looking forward to the next chapters.

You got that right!

This is the most memorable words in the chapter, and maybe in the entire story. Geoff gave Loren affirmation of Loren's choice to share his pain. Loren in turn was able to give Geoff his affirmation of Geoff, but also some very wise words about how to live life not in the past or future, but everyday.

Maci and Maeve are too little to be stereotyped into permanent personalities. Mood in kids that age are like pendulums that swing from one mood to another. I like that Maeve is not always in a party mood. I suspect that Maci can be the same. At least as twins, they are not mirror images of the other all the time. They will definitely be different and not always in sync. The one thing they do have in common is that they are both adorably cute and like to cuddle with the closest available person who want to give them their full attention.

I guess I got stuck in the last input in is the first out with my comments. @84Mags has it right! The family and friends celebrations were beautiful. Loren spending time with Julie and Mike were especially great! They are two wonderful people that deserve Loren's love and affection.

The best part of this chapter was the tailgate party. Geoff was able to validate Loren's sacrifice by giving Loren a real life example of how much Loren's sharing had changed Geoff's life. As for Papa Jay? Suck it up daddy. Super Bowl or not the girls are your number one priority now. It's a good thing your mama was there to cover for you. I did like the prank Jay and Taylor played on Derek and his teammates. I assumed that meant Derek's team won. I also liked that the team wanted to help and found a way to keep up the publicity as well as a game to financially support the cause. Great chapter!

A friend of mine told me you know when you have read a great piece of literature when you forget you are reading a book. Finding Good Trouble is a great piece of literature. Beware, it does deal with raw violence, racial bigotry and homophobia so realistic that each emotion you feel also carries over physically to your body. It is a powerful and deeply moving argument for finding ways to eliminate hate without resorting to violence. This is not an easy read, but one story that needs to be read by all people. IMO it should be published! I highly recommend this story!
