  1. I'm glad I live on the 5th floor and far away from Bangkok.
  2. This compelling short story is a memorable tour de force of a family in crisis. Writing about gender identities in an intolerant society as well a mental illness is beyond difficult. To keep the story from turning dark is almost impossible. The author has written it love and care to succeed where most would fail. The characters are written so well that you quickly empathize and bond with them as they face the hate and idiocies of ignorance. They triumph through love, understanding and personal strength. I am so happy that I read this enlightening story. I hope you take the risk to read it too.

    Chapter 24

I wouldn't count on it Doha. The Krew lurks in every corner of the multiverse.

    Chapter 1

Many novelists have written memorable novels, but I only remember one or two short stories that have made this kind of memorable impact on me. All of the characters were written with love and care in spite of their actions. The story is filled with sadness, but never was dark. I agree with Aaron that this is a masterpiece. I thank you for this story of family, courage and love.
  5. I read it last night, and Highly recommend you all reading it. It had a very surprising end!

    Chapter 28

@kbois doesn't do anything nice and easy. @travlbug's comment now has me worried. What if this is a trap to kill Elijah and slow or stop the others trying to rescue the pups.

    Chapter 28

Cameron was found alive! Now Elijah has to get him back to the truck with Tyler. I hope that Gates will be gone long enough for them to get away safely. However, I do suppose that Elijah can make sure Gates is taken care of should Gates come back early. Have a great vacation! You deserve it! We'll be waiting to welcome you back!
  8. I love how you totally destroyed my animosity to Jonathan's parents. Jonathan overhearing their conversation at the end was epic. No child wants to be aware of their parents lustful intentions. The nonstop humor in the chapter was much appreciated. I also loved how Jonathan's mom was able to turn the tables on Rusty. I had a lot of fun reading this chapter, and hope you had as much fun writing it.
  9. If you find you like this story, I would suggest you read the two Sidewinder books by Headstall. If you don't like the genre, but like the writing style, the Headstall has several more books in different genres to choose from.
  10. A story well told is a delight to most readers, no matter the genre. The words create a setting that is easy to visualize, and the dialogue sparkles with a vitality that quickly bonds the reader to the two main characters. The plot is simple, but also contains a bit of mystery to intrigue the reader. This short story is a great introduction to Headstall, a master storyteller no matter which genre he writes. He has written many different stories in different genres, but they all are crafted with the same love and care you will find in this wonderful tale.
  11. Hot Damn Gary! You made my day, week, month and one hell of a awesome end to summer. I know that Virgil and Wyatt will make a great addition to Larkspur! That was a very surprising ending to this great tale! Thanks for a wonderful read! ❤️
  12. Hi Albert!
  13. I like how the story plot advanced to connect the different parts and characters. Lucas's drunken state pushed him to make several stupid mistakes that led to his downfall. His jealousy, hate and false accusations led to Wyatt's logical defense that opened the eyes of the town's people to the truth. It is unfortunate that Wyatt's statement that the folk in the town and surrounding farms will hold onto their hate is very true. We can see many examples today of that same truth. An excellent chapter filled with tensions and chills. I do love westerns. Something like this is so much like the westerns I grew up with on TV.
  14. An interesting build up of the plot with the visit from the whore, and conversation between Virgil and Wyatt. Wyatt is living in a very dangerous environment. I suspect that the man who beat him up is one of the people in the ruckus and cheered on by the whore. I am looking forward to learning how Virgil will handle what is happening. I hope both Wyatt and Virgil make it out of this hateful town to a safer place.
  15. I'm back in the old west again with this story. I honestly love the way you develop the setting and introduced the characters to begin this story. The story is off to a quick start and I am fully engaged. Great writing! Glad that the muse has once again inspired you.
  16. He Drew! How are your babies? By the sound of it, they keep you busy. How long did the clean room last before they messed it up again. With Orange, it takes less than a day for cat hair to be all over the place again. I can't imagine having as many cats as your family has. That's Orange's reaction. She just wishes she was there to join in the fun.😜
  17. Sorry Drewsome, but It is only 5:30 pm here. Bedtime is a long way off. You'll just have to deal with me.
  18. I didn't know whether to laugh, cry or get sick, but I just couldn't stop reading. I love anthologies, and this is an example of why they are so much fun. Inspired by a few comments, drsawzall has crafted a very unique world that touches briefly on so many different fantasy worlds to create this delightful story. He has definitely stepped out of his usual style, and it is a fun read. I would definitely read a longer book based on the main character and this unique world.

  19. I'm sure you know who will hear about the rot gut from someone in the Krew. Glad the dust bunnies were useful for something other than a nuisance. I have to say the pizzas were revolting, sick humor. I didn't know whether to laugh, puke or both. It's a delightfully twisted story drsawzall and quite a surprise from you.
  20. TMI You must have an excellent spy system in place to get that kind of information.
  21. Of that I have No Doubt! I am looking forward to the next chapter.
  22. This was the biggest laugh for me, but the chapter was filled with some great humor including the shopping trip and the morning in bed with Mason. I agree that Yakob's conversation sounded a ominous, but I will not prematurely think he is dead. If he is dead, he wouldn't be the only shadow shifter to die recently. Aaron could be influenced by that evil queen of cliffies, @kbois! Yakob's conversation also highlighted the fact that Vincent must kill Stefan, as well as the gods' warning that it should be done very soon. The cliffhanger only ratchets up the tension. I expect the next chapter will not provide relief from the rollercoaster ride that has begun.
  23. A nice start to the chapter with all the fun stuff like passing the exam, riding in Axel, finding out RJ was dating a human and home to Mason. I wonder if Jake is a bear kindred? 🤔 This explanation by RJ was hysterical! The greeting by Ralph at the gate was OK, but the ride in the shadows to the main house was fun to read because of Ralph's reaction to the ride. Lesha's initial attitude sounded ominous, but things changed so much at dinner. I loved the conversation between Vincent and Marc. There is hope now that Kaplan will be able to reunite with his parents. Cy will be so happy when that happens. He knows the importance of this to Kap. The chapter was filled with love as it flowed smoothly from NYC to the ODCP.
  24. It is delicious. It is a base potato and leek soup that you can make many variation using other ingredients like bacon or watercress. Served hot it is great for most seasons with its rich creamy flavors. It is also great in summer if it is served slightly chilled.
