  1. Let's hope the documents are enough to get them safely to the UK.
  2. It is the closest I can get.
  3. The pancake explosion was fun. I had a great time adding bits to that part. I suspect Joseph will adapt quickly to the new cuisine, being young. Having a bottomless gut, like most teens/preteens, does help when it comes to food. Isaac and Shamira have probably started the task of introducing new foods that Joseph might not have eaten in his goatherder days.

After they do it, of course. 😉

No worries, Man and I clean up after ourselves and put the tools away. We're almost perfect all the time...well, at least some of the time. 🥴

Considering the documents, I hope no one has questions. Ignorance is bliss in this situation.

I love your comment. I see you caught this tasty morsel. Unfortunately, all I can say is ...Dang it Man, you're too fast with that tape. I was going to say, all I can say is to wait and see.

I like this quote and I thought one from Auntie Mame would fit well with both this quote and the story. "It's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that truly matters."
  9. Say Hi to your gang for me.
  10. Hey Bucket It is good knowing that the weather is improving for you. I do hope you get out for your walk. I need to do more walking. The mornings are the best time to walk, since it is still not too hot or smokey.

That describes the experiences of many characters in this story. The Major, Manny, Ian, Kevin, and a few more have all experienced this.

Hey @akascrubber, Don't get your hopes up too much. There are still seven more chapters to go. @Mancunian loves to twist the plot, so be ready for something new to challenge Isaac and his behind-the-scenes helpers.
  13. Thanks for the vote of confidence. The "pay it forward" concept is fundamental to most of The Boot World stories. I am sure you are right that it will appear in this story.🤞
  14. Good point. I'm sure that Ian and Kevin will need to obtain similar 'legitimate' paperwork. Hopefully, it will be accomplished so that everyone has plausible deniability.
  15. Kevin and Ian's talk with Joseph was a good start, but you are right. There will be many bumps ahead. As you said, Joseph's age will help him learn and adjust. I just hope he gets the chance.
  16. I agree wholeheartedly. Joseph's need and desire for a family will speed the process of them becoming a loving family. Manny did a great job of setting up the foundation for all of them.
  17. Their bond continues to strengthen. The talk was very important to all three of them. Having lived in Thailand for 14 years, I do understand the cultural gap facing Joseph. I still have problems occasionally, but also have many friends to help me understand. Since Joseph is still a child, I hope he will quickly adjust to the changes he may face.
  18. Yep! I have the tape ready if you forget!
  19. I love your humour, Anton! I can't say anything about mistakes that are Madea. There is humour, but none of the mistakes or solutions are really outlandish. Thanks for the Monte Python reference to one of their classic sketches. I'm a great fan of British humour!❤️
  20. That was my reaction as I was editing. It took me several reads before Craig rescued me by pointing the two phones out.
  21. Tom and Dick, "They are family to Tom and Dick's old C.O.", are interesting characters. As we found out, they have worked with Jacob and his employer before. I suggest looking carefully for them in the deep background. As for trouble, I think that's Man's middle name.
  22. I enjoyed this comment, Scrubber. You made interesting points and are correct about having the right friends. You probably know already, but for other readers wanting to see the background of the men operating in the background, I'd suggest reading these two stories: Lost Souls-The Ox and The Boot, Three Years On. Both stories give a lot of information on The Major's personal history and connection to three other characters in this story's 'deep background'.
  23. We're both good. We had a few friends over for dinner last night. We had a Thai BBQ and grilled beef, pork and shrimp. I'm catching up on comments for G,J&C before Man chastises me for being lazy. I was wondering about your interview. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll get it, and that the job will exceed your expectations.🤞
  24. Ian, Kevin and I suspect Joseph have already experienced a lot of trouble in their young lives. I certainly don't wish them more. The bracelets could have chips in them. Jacob would be a prime suspect if that happens. We all saw how sneaky he could be when he turned an attempted robbery into a 'nice' experience without anyone other than possibly the other driver knowing what happened. If I ever need expert help with 'Foreign Service' or 'Protection Detail' information, will you help me @Anton_Cloche?
