    The Major Returns

Interesting comment. I also thought that the 'special assistance' being 'unique' suggested something like Special Ops when connected with Pop's rank in the service.

    The Major Returns

Where there is a will, there is a way. Kevin, Ian and The Major definitely have the will to make this happen. Like Anton said in his comment, The Major and Marty may have a way to pull it off. I am also crossing my fingers and adding a prayer.
  3. I also hope those two get what's coming to them for betraying Manny's trust and stealing from Joseph. However, if they had not done that, Kevin and Ian would not have found out about Joseph. I'm hoping that now Kevin and Ian are aware of Joseph's plight, their actions will bring a better future for the young boy.
  4. Manny, though dead, is one of the main characters in the story. His influence and selfless acts will be revealed as the story progresses.
  5. Your wonderful comment speaks to what makes working with Mancunian feel rewarding to me. We both have this as a common goal and love to bounce ideas back and forth as we strive to improve a story.
  6. Thanks for your feedback, Anton! I hope you continue to enjoy the rest of the chapters.

    Prologue

I should probably do that too. It would free up enough space for a couple of naughty movies. 😈😁

Thanks @drsawzall! I really appreciate your kind comment. I enjoy working with you very much. Although you and Craig write quite different kinds of stories, you both are easy to work with.

    Prologue

This was a great bit of information to include in your comment. I really appreciate the ability to use computers and the internet so Craig and I can work together without creating "mounds of balled paper"! I saved all the chapter files I edited, beta, and rewrote for these stories. There are over 100 files on my computer. I'm sure that Craig has about the same number since we actively exchanged files back and forth as I edited and made suggestions and Craig rewrote the story. Like Craig I hope you like the rewrite.

    The Major Returns

Hi @akascrubber. Mark's news caught Ian and Kevin off guard, leaving them both stressed. Ian was helped by Kate, and John and Andy helped Kevin. When The Major arrived, he was able to calm both as he took charge of the situation. I know that the boys will set up things to allow Joseph to enter the UK, but will they be able to do the same in Israel? I think Israeli laws will be a big challenge. I question whether The Major's connections extend that far.
  11. Ian and Kevin's relationship has been strengthened by the adversities they helped each other survive. They are unique individuals, but by working together, they have accomplished much. They love each other so much but have even more love to give. I like that you commented that they would bring Joseph home. Whether they foster or adopt, I believe they are already thinking of making him part of their family.
  12. Despite the pain both Kevin and Ian experience from their families, they are surrounded by the love given to them by The Major, John, Manny and all their friends from The Boot. These people are their real family that rescued Ian and Kevin. Knowing that Manny wanted to help Joseph to a better life, they want to give Joseph what others gave to them. For all the reasons you mentioned, it will be a challenging task for them to raise a preteen, but they have the strength, love and support to help them succeed.
  13. I love the way this story includes many of the characters I love in other stories. Kate, Steve, Max, Stacy and all their boys. The most important for me is Ian and Kevin are going to make sure Joseph gets a home in the UK as Manny had wanted and planned.
  14. Kevin and Ian have great support from their friends, many who are more like family. Their story is not always filled with happiness, but they do face challenges together. It is one of the reasons I love this story as well as The Boot, Three Years On. I do hope you like how @Mancunian has improved this story, @akascrubber.
  15. I hope that you like the new version even better, @George Richard.
  16. Background information is important to the development of Ian and Kevin, as well as the other characters of the story. It is one of the aspects of the story that Craig and I worked on to make it better. Thanks for mentioning that.

    Prologue

Hey Scrubber! I do hope you like the changes. One of the goals was to develop the characters and provide more insight into their thoughts and feelings. That includes Joseph and Benjamin also.

I hope you like it, Chris.
  19. I'm back. Be careful what you wish for! 😈
  20. Like @Mancunian I hope you enjoy this rewrite. As usual, he and I had fun working together on this project. I love the story and hope that the changes will make it more enjoyable for readers. I appreciate your kind mention of me in the comment.
  21. Bearpaw is a great read that will touch many emotions and excite your senses. Headstall writes stories in many different genres. All are great, but for me, his Westerns are the best examples of classical Westerns. The stories are masterpieces that create an authentic Old West in which the characters, plot and setting feel real. This story is an adventure, drama and wonderful romance. It's a must-read.

    Chapter 25 Caught

A beautiful story and a beautiful ending. Thanks, Gary!
  23. Friends are great, but what you described would drive me crazy, also. I hope your professor understands that an environment like that makes studying or writing a research paper impossible. It makes my eyes cross even to think about it.
  24. I love the colours! The center is cute and made me laugh, though. It looks like a cat in a Darth Vader helmut.
  25. That's beautiful!
