    Ummm… no. It is about 50% fruit and is served hot with custard. Definitely more cakey than bready. I agree with Terry, it’s like fruit cake but not as dense. In the old country, it often has a brandy sauce that is set alight. Too much of a fire hazard here Back in the olden days, my grandmother used to make her own and boiled them for ages, the kitchen was hot and steamy. They tasted awesome but there was a serious cost for summer. Then someone invented the microwave now the puddings are all precooked and a quick zap heats them to perfection without turning the house into a sauna

    Sad news on the Christmas pudding front - the Lions club where we normally get them is not selling them this year A long held family tradition broken So I need to find a replacement… internet to the rescue our national consumer advice body has done a survey of Christmas puddings and custard. Problem solved

    Life is not too bad. I still have a few bits and pieces to do before I head off for Christmas and a couple of friends are trying to catch up this week. I think it will be a New Year thing. That’s a much more relaxed way to meet up

    Of course I am Hey Nick, I don’t have any frog badges but the cow dresses up in a new costume each year for Christmas. She lives about half way to my sister’s house so I should have a new picture next weekend it's from a small town outside their art gallery/tourist centre.
