  1. A titbit that leaves one hungry for more.... the deal , the rings and the interaction between the brothers does leave a slightly bitter taste and a nervous nauseousness.

    Chapter 9

Although I can sympathise with Eric and his need to make it in New York , I can’t empathise ! He doesn’t seem to be having much success in New York and new territory could mean New opportunity. I get it that , ‘ better the devil you know’ is a human default setting , but it’s time he realises that he is content , relaxed and confident with Ryan and those are the emotions that make possibility endless and horizons stretch outward towards infinity. Now he just needs to sell himself at the meeting with Buck! Shouldn’t be hard , he’s a New Yorker (?)
  3. I am late , commenting , that is. I loved the way the personal preparation of each individual was interspersed with the preparation of the food. I like Zoe’s take no prisoners attitude and Geoff’s quiet bravery ! Pink with flower sprig pattern , Bravo Geoff!

    Chapter 13

I believe I could hang on and enjoy the sequels!

    Chapter 23

Well are reading about Nikelseer and Lance and what has made them , I’d rather be Queer !

    Chapter 21

I feel Bart’s concerns with regard to Robert may be well founded.

    Chapter 20

Despite not reporting the sabotaged brake cable , I suppose when the police are forced to take an interest, a confirmation of the damage to the car could be obtained from Ron . A rather manic and rude awakening after the idyll the boys experienced with Michael and John.

    Chapter 19

Gosh , strange that I feel such an affinity to Michael and John and their relationship, or maybe not . A beautiful balance between youth and age , new relationships and tried and tested ones , was created in this chapter .

    Chapter 16

    A beautiful respite.

    Chapter 15

I can’t believe the apathy of the police , though they seem to be cut from the same cloth as our force , so maybe I shouldn’t be surprised . Touching farewell dinner, Susie’s , ‘seeing’ pronouncement and benediction , is enough to inspire both fear and hope.

    Chapter 14

The pieces of the puzzle are beginning to form a picture and it’s not pretty. I wonder if the Religious group and Lances father have anything to do with the drugs? Lances support group seems to disillusioned and disintegrating.

    Chapter 13

I hope the delinquent , murdering blackmailing scum , all of them , get to spend a long time in prison preferably each with his own personal huge , strong protector who looks after him in return for a little love.

    Chapter 12

I like the fact that Roberts parents have extended their support and protection to Bart. I get the feeling that the school and town may soon be turned on theirs heads and are not going to know what hit them .

    Chapter 11

Nikelseer becomes more and more damned with every action he makes. I hope Hazel really hurt one of the boys and that he is marked by his injuries. A terrifying end to what was such a beautiful afternoon.

    Chapter 10

It always wounds deeply when someone chooses to die rather than face another day of bullying, and I can hardly imagine anything worse than drinking insecticide. Mr Nickelseer , Lance and his friends , Murray’s parents and most of the student body are guilty of his death. Seems Mandy and Lance are slowly being dismantled. Masterful handling by Mrs Pinot.

    Chapter 9

Since his ‘revelation’ , Robert really is growing into himself . He has an incredible support system in his parents and has a knack of receiving advice and forging alliances at the same time. His altercation with Lance is concerning.

    Quinlan

How serendipitous that Quin turns out to be a mate , just fabulous for January .... and the others too , I’m sure. Victor seems to be an entitled arse , albeit one who has something they need. Maybe Elias will finally get to bite the shit out of someone for January .... we can only hope!

    Teddy's Drug

It’s clear Ryder is aware of where he stands in relation to Liz and her opinion. He accepts it , feels remorse and has been assisted by her in realizing just how badly he damaged everyone he left behind, including her.A truce for Teddy , I don’t know , unless you’re doing it because you mean it , it rarely works . “ when he’s clean he accomplishes amazing things “ , yip , alone , working inhuman shifts and barely living , I’ve known what that’s like , bring on the drug please !!!

    Redemption

Absence makes the heart grow fonder , abstinence makes other things grow harder ... more and more incentive to get fully invested in healing up . Glad Harry’s had his say and can stop moping about his alleged failure as a father figure and set about actually being one again, although I did find the scene quite sentimental.
  20. Teddy’s talk with his dad really cut to the chase . Harry was a very young dad , 13 years ago and it seems he has internalized his disillusionment to a chronic degree, he probably needs more help than all the others. I’d suggest they restrain Liz before sitting down to a meal with her , just to keep the personal injuries to a minimum.
  21. Yes he should, ‘but he’s not going to find the time’ .

    Just Ryder

Harry doesn’t want Oliver to grow up as naive as Teddy , so Oliver gets fed a ton of lies and is then supposed to believe his father on everything else ? I suppose being a parent is hard and comes with its own set of unique dilemmas , but truth will out so it really is easier in the long run just to invest solidly in it , no matter how uncomfortable it will be. Living for the past and ‘ Getting back to where we were’ , never a good idea, they need to get to a place that fits where they are now and only draw on the positives of the past to refute the pain of the past.

    Oliver the Mad

Although any level of violence is wrong , unless in self defense. I probably would have told Tommy , once I’d finished beating him , to tell everyone he and his big mouth were put in their place by a faggot !! I would sue the school anyway , threatening it is not enough , if you don’t bite no-one ever believes you have teeth. Thirteen years later and the school still seems to follow an apathetic , half arsed and blinkered policy of willful ignorance and pseudo-tolerance. I’d slap a suit on Tommy too after all ‘ offense is often the best form of defense ‘ , just ask Oliver!!

    Ryder's Heart

Stress related Cardiomyopathy , also often referred to as ‘ brocken heart syndrome’, is infinitely treatable but sufferers remain at risk of repeat episodes even though this is usually low. Teddy was right to keep this information close as the stress of hearings diagnosis can be quite extreme . On the other hand , the honesty was necessary to start building trust between the two men. Oliver is taking his promise to Ryder regarding his reintroductionti music seriously ! Giving Ryder the homework was a really moving scene. Harry should realise he’s an adult and not a jilted teenager!
  25. Structure (Teddy) and Chaos (Ryder) shows even whilst they’re packing clothes, maybe maturity is going to be the element that helps them survive this time around, as they rub off on one another. Alchemising obsession into passion is important in succeeding , Ryder seems to have provoked the initial changes in Oliver but we’ll wait and see where it goes.
