I think the old Alan is gone and Cody has create a new Alan, or maybe Cody has removed the bands that held Alan from expressing the his true self. They are both happy for Andy. That is what a mentor does

Life at the house returned to normal. Roads were cleared, Cody and Andy had to go back to school. I was left alone once again but I had reports to review for the December meeting. That would give me an opportunity to do some Christmas shopping in New York. I remembered we were going to spend New Years in New York and I had to get Mary and Brian’s permission to bring the boys. In today's Covid19 restrictions, I think everyone wished they could go somewhere were the Covid19 is not an issue. I truly believe there will be a time, when we all can travel again. We can travel thought the world of stories/

Good thing the story is not in the 21st century. You're never too old. Instead of going door to door, you all go to someone's house and have a party. Even Europe is getting into having Halloween parties.

If you have any of that pie left, send it over. I haven't had persimmon pie since `1983 I don't think that will happen. He has a bedroom for the week-ends. His family cares about him and he knows it. It is sad. There are men who become elated when their sons get's involved with a girl, she ends up pregnant, the father boasts how much of a man his son is. That is so much a corrupted view. Except when it's his daughter. His son, an excellent scholar, into sports, has a lot of friends, but is gay, then all at once he's no good. Why do they think everything reflects on themselves. The boy is 18, he can declare independence. Then I wonder how his father would feel.

You can do that if you follow the guidelines. Avoid people, wear a mask, keep the 6 foot rule and visit establishments that follow the rules.

School started and we only saw the boys on the week-end. For the first few weeks, we missed our permanent staff. We’d meet Ralph at the diner, when he’d let us know he was passing through.
