  1. Happy Birthday! Enjoy today, and may there be many, many more.
  2. Can I offer this as one of my favorite recordings? Heifetz and Toscanini...

I 'liked' this, even though it made me want to cry. For you are here, now, and doing great work in the world. But I wish with all my heart you did not have to hurt as you did.
  4. I very much enjoyed reading this story. As a hockey fan, it made me recall characters on the ice. As a denizen of modern society, it made me wince at some current behaviors. It is a wonderful tale.

  5. Thank you, AC, for your words of support and encouragement. You read my mind and hurt so well, I was left breathless for a moment. You speak to them who I addressed plainly; I did so more obliquely. The first of these was meant to taste of disappointment, and the second to contain the scent of hope. That they moved you makes me think that perhaps another set of eyes might agree with you. Again, thank you for reading these so well.

    2 - 5 - The Toll

Your depiction of Caleb's visions are priceless. Orpheus will undoubtedly tell us more, but I suspect there is merely disappointment and twisted fate remaining before Caleb. The vision of Ethan in the spell still haunts me.

They've been fluttering thru here, too. And even though the weather is hot now, it can change in an hour. Your poem is a perfect early autumn poem!
  8. I am glad these two gave some chance for reflection. That happened to me, too. They were written some time apart from one another, and it was in editing and readying them that the notion of pairing them occurred. Thank you for your insights and thoughts.

    Collection

You are very kind to try out the flavors on offer in this collection. And it is very nice you find they please your palate.

    Let Go

Such a hard, hard thing to read and to consider. You put it into thought so well.

    Chapter 10

Have much enjoyed this wonderful story. You wrapped it up perfectly.
  12. Happy Birthday! Many happy returns of the day....

    Chapter 10

Surprise. Anticipation. Tenderness. Anxiety. You build all of these up, moment by moment, well chosen word by well chosen word. This chapter is fantastic in every respect. And the love scenes simply iced the cake for me.

    2-3 - The Warden

A very tough chapter to write, setting out a cosmology in dialogue. Interesting and intriguing. Thank you!
  15. Aptly put.
  16. You are a way, way better man than I am...
  17. That's too much...how terrible.

    Going to waste?

Your hardworking editor took a few moments out from marking shredder-worthy papers to read this. It is you at your fascinating, magnificent best. I got wrapped up in the story and drawn in quickly. You have a marvelous gift for personification. Wonderfully done!
  19. @Mikiesboy...You read me so well in these, tim. Alternate Reality is indeed all about change, and recognizing its presence. So many changes we go through, and we so often fight them instead of flow with them. And when that happens, we only concentrate on the loss, and not the blessings of the present moment. Companion is part of a quiet hope for facing the pain, the consequences of choices made and tolerated. I am glad you liked this, and your comments are so kind and generous. Thank you.
  20. No false modesty. But it is kind of cute.
  21. See is such a deceptively simple title for the wonders and joys you describe. The symphonies of geese, the crystal clear days and misty mornings, and the butterflies passing through the golds and purples of my garden: your words bring them all to mind as you pianist your images so vividly. To Sir offers me a very different kind of supply for my imagination. But the passion and emotion that springs from every stanza cannot help but set the heart resonating. These are both beautifully done tim.
  22. Only Liz seems to understand what's happening. At least for now. Perhaps Ethan was comatose and dizzy from having two weeks of death history re-written. The questions in my mind are many, and involve both how much this is the Ethan who was lost, and just how much this or any Ethan will understand of the situation - but I will keep specifics to myself, as this story just keeps getting deeper and richer and better. The emotion and detail you pack into this are lessons for aspiring writers.

    Alone

The public, outer mask, trying vainly to protect the inner self is a tragic story, and you tell it so well here. Each stanza paints the scene darker, even as the bright lights and music blare in the images you paint.

    New Life

This is especially touching. Thank you for sharing a snapshot from your life.

    Labels

Great poem. Your refusal of each convenient label simply makes you more of who you are. And the feel is light and confident. Really well done.
