    Party

Thanks for your kind words - thinking how David and Andy would talk was really difficult. There is plenty of crumpled scrap paper in the trash...hope you think it came out right.

    Party

I miss them, too - enough to have written this short visit. Thanks so much for reading this story, and for your thoughts. Don't let 100 chapters scare you - you'll get swept up in it and binge-read before you know it!
  3. We piled back into our cars to head south, farther into the park. I wound up following Terry and Kaz's car. That part was easy enough. "You know anything about where we're going?" David asked. "No idea," I said gripping the steering wheel a little tighter. The road was proving trickier than I expected. "Hope it isn't too big a hike. I'm a little tired." I grinned, then cornered and braked hard. "Whoa, Gary, drive much?" Twoey joked, as he and David were thro
  4. @Mann Ramblings And thank you, for your hard work on such a wonderful banner...
  5. @Gene Splicer PHD Thank you! I will redouble my efforts... @CassieQ And @Defiance19 and @impunity and @chris191070 and @R J Drew and @LitLover...thank you! @Headstall...thank you, and I owe @Mann Ramblings a deep debt for design work on the banner. @Valkyrie If you hadn't encouraged me to find a beta, this never would have happened... @Drew Espinosa It all seems so improbable... @spikey582Thank you for your fantastic questions.... and to everyone.... I'm really just the least of men, a geek who does his work in pen, but if you like the tales I write, I'm grateful as I say good night...
  6. @BlindAmbition absolutely!

    Chapter 12

Jesse got hit quite forcefully with the gravity and magnitude of his feckless behavior. If he can, maybe he'll change and rebuild. Or maybe he'll move away. Nikolai probably aged a decade in this episode, and probably will have trouble trusting another man for along time, if ever he gets the chance again. It is nice to see Stefan in a peaceful space. Thanks for this chapter. There is a chance for growth now.
  8. CJ did the right thing. He did what so many decry, that is, to use a weapon truly in self defense. It is disturbing that such battles must be fought again. Thank you.

    City Seen

I am glad you liked this. The true story must remain a mystery to me. I could not see it , nor ensure it turned out the way I would have liked. But its outcome still bothers me. Thank you for your kind words.

    City Seen

Thank you. And the natural extensions of this line of thought are very disturbing.

    City Seen

I could not agree with you more. I wanted to see the first ending, and could not. It made me afraid for the second. Or perhaps my imagination is just too vivid. Thanks for reading and responding to this.

    City Seen

And I still wonder. Funny how some unfinished stories still make you think....

    City Seen

It was precisely both these things - beguiling, intriguing. I couldn't get this scene out of my head. Just a few moments caught in city traffic can fire the imagination. Thanks for your kind words.
  14. City Seen A passenger by car one day I rode and buckled in my place was I detained when government or chance construction code decreed a halt, all traffic was detained. About us rose a shadowed cityscape, for multistoried castles masked the sky; I took the opportunity to gape at life in civic glory passing by. I thus beheld an eddy in the throng, a chapel where the suited ones might pray stood open while the homeless moved along; but dapper fundamental

    Ebb and Flow

This was a chapter to be read twice over. Ben will be sacrificing a hell of a lot of his career, but Travis may change the whole calculus in the end. But you're gonna make us sweat over that, right?
  16. Ethan must be completely shattered. No matter what Caleb explains, no matter how it can be construed, Ethan is gutted. Is there a spell for a gored heart?
  17. Great new chapter! Love the scene with the RCMP. I hope for some reconciliation, but perhaps that's a bit too fond a wish...

    Chapter 7

Again, you write so I can get inside each character's mind, but most especially Louis'. Everything is so vivid, yet not tediously described - just enough to let me figure out details on my own. And you write to lead me into each new thought, each new scene, so that I am already imagining it. This is great writing, tim. And, of course, I am especially drawn to Louis and Don's moments of conflict and of reconciliation. I'll repeat, this is awesome.

    Chapter 6

I missed this chapter last week. But it is an extremely important one. Even if Don isn't putting every card on the table, at least he is trying to play most of them. Louis wants more from Don than he feels right in giving. Mr. Jones is unlikely to have magic answers. All these things you write about with a way of making me feel like I am right there, and able to feel what your characters feel. It is real, and so is the hurt for both Don and Louis. You make it possible for me to inhabit their pain. Thank you.

    Chapter 11

I feel so badly for Nikolai, and wonder now what Jesse will do. His life suddenly looks very different to him, I expect. Yet Devan's troubles are of a whole different order. With Jade to care for, he does not need Jesse causing drama, either. Artfully set up...
  21. I am glad you are enjoying this stretch of the text enough to binge read. Can't tell you how much I appreciate knowing that. Andy and Zander gave FPS the slip, and Andy is very resourceful. That is good. But I grieve you did not have the Stevensons, nor Zander waiting for you. I rejoice you made it, and that you are here. Thank you so much for reading Andy's story, and for your comments.

    A Small Pebble

You build tension so deftly, but it ratchets up with every paragraph. What is it Ethan needs to say? You know I want to find out.

    Chapter 1

It hurts and charms simultaneously. A lovely take on this idea of a man out of time.

    Picnic

I am very glad that you are looking forward to more. There is one chapter left. And yes, there are many things I feel as I re-read these pages.
