  1. Silver silken snow reflects the waning crescent moon and every star while smooth crystal drifts whisper hot humid secrets of bodies on grass.
  2. Maybe this once David ought not to plan for the event, but plan for contingencies. Plan for supporting Twoey, no matter what his heart tells him. Now Twoey is calling David 'Angel,' so David had better get his heart set about Twoey. Does he really want to be Twoey's Angel? Because if he doesn't I suspect he's going to be Matty's latest conquest.
  3. I read this through. Then read it again. And then again a third time, before I could absorb it all. It's brutal, honest and very, very, hard. And yet, there was light and love waiting for you on the other side of hell. I admire you for your strength and courage. I admire your honesty. I admire you more than I can say for being able to share your story. AC has it right when he calls you one of the strongest people out there. We should all be as strong as you.

Oh, my trepidation is real enough. I feel like such a fraud as a writer sometimes. When that happens, I bet anyone can see through me - I'm just a schoolteacher masquerading...

Thanks for your kind thought. That's my strange math sense of humor coming out...

Oh Dragon of few words, thank you.
  9. Tanka #1 With fear and trembling I submit my words; wider audiences to read my fool's ephemera. Can mathematics teachers do anything besides count?
  10. "Red Running Shoes" had me hooked very early, and remains a story I look at over and again. Thank you for some additional insight in to Jonah, who I loved reading about. Many thanks, Dark, for organizing this.
  11. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your kind encouragement. That you care so much about these characters makes me very happy. It was a pleasure in writing to see Andy emerge and change as I wrote; he seemed alive as the text was set onto the screen. The tension with Dr. O'Shea between what Andy feels he can say and what he might need to talk about is consistent with everything he's told us in his journal to this point. She appears to make him comfortable enough - more comfortable than the medical doctor, at least. I thank you for continuing to read A to Z, and for your perceptive and kind words.
  12. I am happy you liked how their Valentine's Day turned out. I think Mrs. Stevenson had gotten caught up in the business of taking Andy in, forgetting that he might need to be a part of all that, too. When the to-do lists get lengthy, that can happen. The final part of this chapter was such fun to write. Thank you so much for continuing to read A to Z and for your encouraging remarks.
  13. If I were Zander, I'd never want to let Andy out of my sight. If I were Andy, I'd know I need to be near Zander. Valentine's Day was a perfect day for them to be that way; a good day for Andy to reveal more of what may be his real, sweet nature. Thank you so much for reading A to Z and for your kind, encouraging words.
  14. Andy begins to reveal something of himself on Valentine's Day, and it just goes to show how lucky Zander and his family are. Dr. O'Shea was a tough character to create, but Andy seems to lie her. Thanks for continuing to read A to Z, and for your insightful reviews.
  15. I considered introducing Dr. O'Shea I the previous chapter, but thought it would be overkill. But indeed she is the right woman for the task. Andy's missteps over chores can tell Monica and Garrett a lot about Andy"s past without him having to say a word. Thanks for your encouragement and reviews!
  16. Neither old, nor juvenile. I'd call it highly charged, sensuous, and evocative. Simple is okay by me. I like simple.
  17. Welcome to GA. It's a good place to be friends.
  18. I've always enjoyed sports - soccer and baseball, especially - but never been much good at them. Lousy eyesight never helped. Now in my dotage, I'm a coach - Lacrosse. I have always enjoyed the strategy involved in coaching.
  19. Your birthday? When? And where was I? I didn't make you birthday pie! Oh weep, oh rail, o lack-a-day! For I have missed your natal day! Your pardon, please - I'm such a swine; accept this little verse of mine from me, a very sorry boy, to wish you love and peace and joy. Happy (exceedingly late) Birthday!
  20. A happy birthday, Andr0gene, I wish you joy and love - I mean to send you birthday cake some way, or maybe just a verse today. Happy Birthday.
  21. Welcome, foreverhawk. This is a great place to read, and play. Best of all, everyone on GA has been perfectly civil since I've landed here. Again, welcome.
  22. You are most kind in your comments, and I appreciate that you are (now) enjoying Andy's story. Dr. Wagner did his job, but I think his work was very close to Andy's pain and hurt. Dr. O'Shea has a different task; at least she made Andy comfortable enough to talk with her and feel better afterwards. Andy has subtly asserted himself from time to time, as you say. I appreciate your remembering the story so well. However, the new dynamic of having a family - and a boyfriend - who love him must be a real adjustment for everyone, Andy included. Thanks again for your comments and for reading Andy's journal.
  23. Andy's story has evolved, slowly, into a happier, warmer one. It's that way because so many stories never really convince their readers of the trials that temper their characters. I am happy you can feel Andy's pain and his happiness through his journal. I appreciate your encouragement.
  24. In many ways, this was a great chapter to write, as Andy slowly discovers how to live with people who love him, but who haven't got his understanding about what he's gone through. Valentine's Day was a great place to begin. Dr. O'Shea was a fun character to create, too. Thanks for your kind words and for reading Andy's journal with him.
  25. This Valentine's Day really was Andy's very first. He realized - finally - that he could participate. Dr. O'Shea certainly helped Andy feel more comfortable than the medical doctor, though that doc probably had to get closer to Andy's pain. He wasn't unsympathetic, just doing his job. Certainly, the last few days with the Stevensons mark the best days Andy has had in almost a decade. Thank you for your review and for staying with Andy in his journal.
