yeah we can get 4 to 5 kg and up. The one we bought was a stuffed butterball which you cook from frozen. They are really nice. It was 4.1kg stuffed, so not very big at all. But enough for us and a guest and we have leftovers. So, it's good.

oh, it'll be gone this week. The turkey was dismantled and the bones were in the instant pot for stock right away. We don't buy a big turkey around 4 kg (8.8 lbs already stuffed). So it'll be gone in a couple of days. Then we'll have some soup. But we have done that, frozen leftovers, it's smart and saves on cooking too. I do that with lasagna, chili etc. i only have the fridge freezer, which isn't a bad size and we manage with that. Michael decided after going through several chest freezers that enough was enough and we were not going to get another one.

It was .. everything came out perfectly ... but we only had one serving. i don't usually eat big meals but it was worth it!.. Then later pumpkin pie with whipped cream!! Looking forward to turkey sandwiches!!!

So.. life has been pretty good lately. My shrink agreed to visits every two weeks from weekly. i feel good. i feel like i am coping with my world better. i feel positive, like there is a reason to live and to be happy for the first time really since i was a kid. i'd have moments of that but it never lasted more than a day or two. Now is different somehow. Like someone lifted a veil or something. i don't know if it will last, but knowing that i may have a downturn, doesn't scare me anymore. That's who i am. Depression is part of me, but not all of me and i need to love that part too and accept it. But now i feel i can control my triggers .... i can see them coming. Usually, i'd just take the negative path, but i've been able to stop myself. i've been able to be positive and then decide to go and talk to Michael or Dan and keep myself from sliding too far, if at all. This doesnt feel like a manic phase either. It's been awhile since i've been feeling like this and yeah, i hope i can keep it going. i hope all of you are well and doing okay.

i've learned a bit about Norway via Arne and Carlos, who live there and got me started on my knitting journey. They are clothing designers who live in an old train station on top of a mountain in Norway. Arne is Norwegian and Carlos is Swedish by way of diplomatic parents and Brazil, if i remember correctly. They are a lot of fun and have a lot to share about their homeland, history and knitting. You can find them on YouTube or their blog. The offer cruises to see the Northern Lights a few times a year. i found them after the pandemic began. They were bored and decided to help people by doing a daily youtube thing and offering free patterns for squares you could knit to make a blanket or whatever. i found their kindness and generosity touching and their humour just what i needed at that time. i decided to knit along with them.. they called that show, Sit and Knit For A Bit... New Zealand sounds nice. We watch lots of tv from there and it looks like a beautiful place. Geez.. sorry rambling again ...

What a great trip. i'm glad you enjoyed yourselves. You worked hard to make it all happen! Sorry about the swill coffee you had to drink ... i'm sure Vancouver had better You've done so much for people since you've returned home ... i'm glad you have these memories. So? What's next on your travel bucket list?

i'm sorry, i don't know. Rex does write well and he's a super person. He was really supportive of me and my own work. i just hope he's okay.

There's a lot that needs talking about, you're right. There's a place where most people never go, and never see. It's dark, dirty and cruel. And once you're there, it's hard to get out. Lots don't and those of us who do, well, it's a long road back. It's nice to see Rex's story being read again.

From Venay Menon's column in the Toronto Star... I see Tim Hortons is still having an identity crisis. Unable to crack the secret to conjuring a half-decent cup of coffee that doesn’t taste like watery suffering, the company keeps flirting with clothing. It’s as if The Gap tried to boost its bottom line with chicken balls. Thursday is National Coffee Day. To celebrate this java holiday, Timmies is dropping a… new line of merch? Yes, apparently, it’s like on National Hamburger Day, when McDonalds sells pneumatic drills. This new line of leisure wear, which even the homeless would wave off with stink eye, falls under the “Tims Run Club” branding. I guess that makes sense. When I see a Tim Hortons, I run like hell in the opposite direction. I regret stuffing Tim Hortons into its locker yet again. I don’t like bullying. But, honestly, why can’t they make a cup of coffee that does not make me want to jump off the CN Tower? After past criticisms, I’ve heard from many readers, some of whom defended the chain since, where they live in the country, there are no real joe alternatives. I sympathize. I really do. But mediocrity by necessity is still mediocrity. I don’t understand the cult of Timmies in our midst that voluntarily guzzles down this vile swill. Why are you people going on these daily Tims Runs? You’d be better off making your own coffee, even if you substitute marbles for beans. You’d be better off quitting caffeine and taking up hallucinogenics. And if what they’re trying to force-feed you wasn’t bad enough, now the company is trying to dress you. Resist! They should just shut their doors. Once upon a time Tim Horton opened a donut shop... and it was WONDERFUL... now i'll only go there if i'm starving and there is no other option. They suck. And here is what you could be wearing!!!!
