  1. Michael isn't into celsius either.. i understand them both. Michael is ordering dinner...i wish i had some wine. I feel for the students even though they are sometimes dumb, but to assume we just are lying or that we cant bothered makes me mad. Banks cannot trace incoming payments.. and him begging me and saying You're my only hope is unfair. As soon as i went back i had another from Vietnam. He asked me to check. I did, i also looked at other recent inquiries. A teammate said we'd send it when we got the funds. So, the funds were there as was the proof of funds document. I made a pdf and attached it to my reply. Sent it. Said to him, Ive replied. He says okay, goes to read it. Comes back: Oh. Does this mean i can apply now. Yes. OMG.. thanks.. thank you. have a good day.. wow, thanks.. it was cute.. made me laugh. If its there, we'll send it. Not too much longer to go.. god.
  2. omg.. 1 hour on chat with some drama queen student.. their wire transfer hasnt arrived.. and he fg went on and on about it. We are being inundated with them right now and seriously, int'l wires take 5 business days or more.. they send them two days before their deadlines and then come whinging to us they wont be able to apply online. We tell you to allow 10 business days so you allow 2 .. I want to tell them to F OFF ... i seriously am losing the will to live
  3. Do you ever just want to slap some people? Humans are individuals, with separate issues and experiences. Sorry, Jack, but consider yourself slapped.
  4. i sort of imagined when i first read your post that you were tossing them into the pot...lol Michael was like Emeril ... but has since learned there are other temperatures besides HIGH .. hehe.
  5. Myr, is experimenting with different icons. There's a blog about it, where you can express your feelings about it.
  6. Yeah, any of those berries would be great. Blueberry would be with lemon zest too. I think you can use anything you want, peaches, apricots, plums, apples, rhubarb would be excellent in there. Nuts are healthy and add a lot texture and flavour. I put them in my apple crisp topping, along with orange zest. About the sponge.. i don't know. We don't use sponges, so i cannot help with that. We use chia in our bread and i've never noticed them anywhere but in whatever I'm making ... lol, so what are you doing?
  7. Getting by, rick. Hope you are. Hope your brother is doing okay also.
  8. He was online .. i was reading in bed. hehe
  9. Better question.. what do you think? Write your story. I like alternate history things. Go for it.
  10. i buy mine from walmart.. they come in a plastic bag. i store them in an old pickle jar and leave them in the cupboard. They've been fine. I need to order more.

    Woodland Walk

Oh, each of these is wonderful. Thank you for sharing the sights and sounds of your walk with us.
  12. We are still consuming our strawberry squares. They are soooooo nice! Wow.
  13. That looks great. i put meat in mine but mainly cuz that is how my Husband likes it. But not a lot, a couple of sausages or some beef shank. And i use green cabbage but red would be great too. It's making me hungry.
  14. Okay.. i will now be quiet ... much too much talking today.
  15. Soup is easy and has been proven to keep you full longer. If you have an instant pot, look for a beef and barley recipe. I recommend making it the day before and letting sit overnight. Great soup. But you dont really need a recipe. I often make it with my own stock, or store bought, some onion, carrot, celery diced... shredded cabbage, some beans and or barley. Just put in stuff you like and have in the house. Last time i dumped in some canned sliced beets. It tasted like borscht, which i love. I added some sliced mild Italian sausage. It was great. When it was cooler, we made end of the week soup. Leftovers, small bits of veg etc, went into the soup pot. You all can cook ... so go for it.
  16. There's loads online about it: https://www.thespruceeats.com/many-uses-for-whey-1327494 The cheesecloth thing has been around for a long time. I just rinse it well after and let it dry and reuse it. But before it was called Greek Yogurt, it was called yogurt cheese. And you can use it like cream cheese. It's nice. I saved my little bit of whey and i'll put it in with the next loaf of bread i make this week.
  17. I needed 1/3 c of greek yogurt. so i put in slightly more than that in the cheesecloth and sieve and left it while i did other things. Must have had a good 2 or 3 tbsp of whey afterwards. But that's all Greek yogurt is.
  18. yes yogurt.. greek yogurt is simply regular yogurt.. which is drained of its whey.. you can buy a tub of astro plain.. and some cheesecloth... put the cheesecloth in a sieve over a bowl.. dump the yogurt in... leave it a few hours and you have .. ta da... greek yogurt. That's how they make it and why it is an environmental disaster. They dump all the whey.. and it can affect our water in a negative way. If you make your own you can drink the whey, or add it to soup or smoothies.. rather than dumping it.
  19. i dont buy it cuz its too expensive to me, but i made a little to make these squares.
  20. Okay, i am officially in love with chia seeds. i've been adding them to my homemade bread for a while but made this today: You need chia for the strawberry filling to thicken it up. I had a bit too much so Michael and i added the left overs to some yogurt. Wow, how wonderful.
  21. i never really got to listen to music until about 3 years ago. So, i listen to whatever is on the radio we finally bought. Music was not allowed in my home as a kid and then well, i was homeless so never heard much music really. When i met Michael, He listened to some on his laptop but He didn't have a stereo or anything. We did buy a little stereo which i like to listen to maybe it's 4 years now... i really like the 80's station and i like classical music too. But i like to listen to lots of things.
  22. Well done for keeping quiet! Aww, sorry he was so nervous. Next time!! Do they have a fake hill? They should have a fake hill, imo.
  23. lots of us do, especially now. We saw a lady who lives here as we went to the store today. We were talking about this sort of thing and she said, "In lockdown our world is 4 walls for the most part. We need to find brightness in where we are and who we are with if we're lucky enough to have someone." She always has nice plants so she's doing that. I bought a new one for our place too. Just a little brightness. I also started to feed the plants we did have. Well, they are all actually GREEN now. Plus i have my hobbies.. and i manage to write a poem now and again. We just need to keep on.
  24. Back from a trip to the shrink. Meds are being adjusted again. i wish once they find the right combo it could be made into a magic pill ... but of course that doesnt work, because we change too. Oh, well. We've seen some like this before.. but i dont think we can be reminded too often:
