  1. Hopefully they are like the constant rain/thunderstorm warnings we get daily... and nothing will happen. Out of the last 3 weeks of warnings, it rained once in the morning i think.
  2. 💖 love is love. i am happy, with you .. and with Jim. It's a good thing, pure. And as You say, we will see where we end up. xo
  3. because it is what we all are ... and it's okay.
  4. On White Feathers I wish I could quietly follow you to that sad and dark place where you reside I would be only silent company a patient, yet a knowing companion You could talk or rail at the cruel world pace; rant, let the universe know your cares let go the anguish and hurt you carry freeing your mind from the grim thoughts that haunt for they are lies, I know they not be true I will wait with you as this storm passes blend

Nice. I hope this doesn't mean your weather has changed!
  6. Thanks for your thoughts and sharing this. Sounds amazing.
  7. Nice story. i am not expert on kid's stories. Was this kid tested? It's a shame you can't have the pics in there ... i think they add a lot to children's stories.
  8. yeah that's what i do ... simple and done. i'm afraid i don't look at a lot of the setting and things.
  9. Someone has the right idea. It may take a moment or two, to load.

  11. This is not from my next story ... but next one after that one.. next story: Time missed this stand of forest and its surroundings. Old growth stood solid, while the young trees pushed their way through blankets of dying leaves and by the unforgiving pine cones. Animals came to eat of the fruit and nuts; leaving soon after as they could feel the unnaturalness of this place. But animals are not humans; they are inherently more sensible. At ten, Graham Nelson didn’t know this, of course. He was a child and this place was dark, quiet and quite ancient, he was sure. This forest behind the cottage was filled with mossy rocks and boulders. Water gurgled somewhere and pines, maples, aspens and paper birch stood as tall as buildings. Woodpeckers hammered, squirrels chattered and Graham couldn’t wait to explore. “Look, Ma!” He pointed to a tree which appeared, for all intents and purposes, like deadfall. “Look … it’s like a bridge … it’s a bridge tree!” Elena Nelson glanced at the tree. “It’s only a fallen log, Graham.” She slapped at an insect with her carefully manicured red nails. “I am going back to sit by the lake, Graham. Do not go past that fallen tree! Do you hear me?” The little boy looked at his mother. I wish you were like Benji’s mom. She’d climb the Bridge Tree with me. He smiled and dutifully replied, “Yes, Ma’am. I hear you.” Once she’d picked her way back to the cottage’s tamer grounds, Graham got back to the business of being a boy. He picked moss off the rocks, turned over small logs and enjoyed the beetles, worms and other creatures that lived beneath. After discovering a small pool and making the water skimmers flee, Graham turned around and looked at the bridge tree. As he walked towards it, he noted it was not fallen but had grown straight and at some time had bent over about three feet from the ground. I bet I can get up there. He set about doing just that but found it was harder than he’d first thought. He scraped his knee, got a little blood on his walking shorts and his nice white polo shirt just was not anymore. Though he grunted with the effort and broke a couple of finger nails, he was excited and proud when he finally stood atop the tree. I am the first to stand upon this bridge! Graham posed like the champion he felt he was. “You’d be wrong about that.” The voice so startled Graham he nearly fell off the tree. Slowly he turned around to see who had spoken. Fear made his gut gurgle and he gripped his tummy. Graham blinked at the other before him. He was slender, his skin the colour of dark tea, but it was the boy’s eyes that captured Graham. Mismatched they were; the right a bright sky-blue and the other forest-green. “Are you an elf?” Graham finally found his voice. “No, I am Salmar Tir. Who are you?”
  12. Nick is a great person. I got a bit of insight while doing some editing for him. It was a total pleasure. Love Is Blind is a wonderful story. We get to know Ian and Andrew when they meet in college. We experience their growing friendship and love as they deal with school, life, family and their dawning acknowledgement that there may be more between them than they first expected. Lovely piece and so worth reading. I did learn from the questions above, that Nick is a photographer ... i'll have a look to see if there are any of his on GA ... that's a hint @Nick Brady Thanks for this feature, @Cia very interesting, and a terrific story to choose.
  13. That i think is people's biggest problem .. they move a few steps back and think they have failed completely. You've figured it out.. and i think that is amazing. For many people 'dieting' is just full of extremes. i think you and your doctor (and he's a rare one!) are doing brilliantly.
  14. That's really great. It's funny, when we give ourselves permission to eat that sundae often we don't want it a huge one, and we are satisfied with a few bites. I find that with these cakes because they GOOD so three forkfuls is enough.
  15. yeah those voices ... and the story is good and too real sometimes. right now.. i am in a good place.. things seem to be in balance most of the time ... and slides down the rabbit hole aren't as steep and are easier to climb out of.
  16. i suppose it is a journey ... things take time. When we found out Michael is diabetic, we had to make some changes. Michael always had a sweet tooth, and when he was a cop well, his diet was lots of take out stuff, candy, pop.. whatever to keep them going and whatever they could grab. All the changed the minute the doctor told us ... we still have dessert, but often it is sugar free jello, fruit or some no-sugar thing i've made. Sometimes he wants something 'real' like chocolate cake. So we have it .. but we found these tiny four inch square one layer cakes. They are like black forest with a bit of cherry on top and some cream. We share one .. usually with some jello on the side. MODERATION is the key .. and it seems you've found your way. That's really good. I am slim..always have been but i need to eat well because i have HIV, and to keep myself healthy, i need to eat properly, sleep etc. So, we all have our 'things' so we can support each other here, no matter what the thing is !!
  17. I second Thorn.. that's brilliant good for you!!
  18. cant say i've ever done that..LOL ..
