The evil mistress strikes again; Mother Nature shows her perverse joy to torment. Under sunless skies our group waits and talks; Our surfboards bobbing in the small swells. We sit, feet dangling in the cold water; Watching little crabs crawl up the piers leg. Even the current seems to be against us; Holding us still in its clawed grip. Though the number of wetsuits today is small; The camaraderie of the waves keepers binds us. Hopefulness

Thank you as always, Mikedup. No clue when or if a book 3 will come out. It's still in the rough early stages. If I could get the characters to play nice like Chris did it this, it would be ready soon. lol.

Great chapter. From my own experience I can understand TJ's trust issues. It's difficult to see or hear something and not jump to the wrong conclusion. Unlike in the hospital, TJ handled this one well, with the assistance of Josh talking him down. Sean did the right thing when he found there was a problem. If I were TJ, the only thing I would have done different would have been to save the full body picture in front of the mirror. Even if he gets to see the real thing, at least the mental image I get would be nice to keep

Really liked this chapter. Damn you though... Your description of the accident on the field: his head snapped back, the sound of bone breaking, him lying there with his head at an odd angle. I really thought you broke Sean's neck and I'm very happy you didn't. I like Sean's character and he's going to have to give up a lot of things, but unless he was planning on going to college on a football or baseball scholarship, it might not be that big of a deal in the long run. You gotta love TJ and the way he does things. Sometimes though, you want to smack the &^#$ out of him for going overboard. I know he's still got a lot of problems, but he hit the lottery when he met Sean Can't wait for chapter 10.

Thank you Ezz. This story did expand a little over the first version of its rough draft. I did consider taking it further with the two. Since it was about Chris and his journey to find his new place in life, it seemed the appropriate place to end it. I have thought about doing a short story or two that might give them some additional time, but we'll have to see.

It was great to see this, and chapter 7 which I had missed. You did great on this chapter. Mark sounds like an interesting addition to the group. I can't wait for chapter 9 since that is one hell of a cliffhanger you left us with.

Thank you Normischell. It was fun building on what I already had and fixing things I felt were lacking. I'm currently working with an editor so one more revision is on the horizon to clean up the technical errors.

As I was reviewing other comments I noticed I hadn't responded to this one. I had to laugh a little at you stating "this may be the most thought out story line". It was thought out to the extent that I wanted to get from point A to B to C and I did do that. Along the way, the story took on a life of its own as I let my imagination make its way to each of the points I wanted to hit. Fortunately, the end result is something more than I could have imagined when I wrote the first chapter of what was supposed to be a 10 to 15 chapter story.
