Cory has assembled quite the assortment of friends, lovers and brothers. I had originally intended for Indie to be a close friend for Efrain (with whom he sometimes exchanged drunken bjs), but they ended up just being two dudes who live together. The previews before Moana included one for Monster Truck. It's a simple premise really--monster trucks, with real monsters in them. B figured if that's all it took to get a movie greenlit, he aught to make a go of it himself. I'm not going to discourage him. If they can make a kids' movie about tentacle monsters getting freaky with 4x4s, then who am I to judge? But, I should have known how the drive home would go... "Hey, I have another story idea for you--monster trucks that have real monsters in them. But they're also gay. You may need to work in some kind of hook for your audience. Maybe the drivers are all werewolves, who are also gay." And if that wasn't bad enough.... At least this isn't as bad as my last cliffie! I unwittingly put some of my brother's brashness and assholeness into Cory's brothers, so they're going to irritate others, even when they mean well. Maybe I should let Lola have at 'em. Speaking of which, my original concept for Lola was to have her act like a complete demon for Efrain and Indie (maybe even Gio), but be so angelic around Preston and Cory that she has them totally snowed. Of course, this plan crashed and burned when it got to the cat litter flung all over the bathroom floor. Cleaning it up would have been too out-of-character for Efrain, so it would be obvious to Cory that his kitten is a little imp.

Thanks, Luxxy! Indie is as in denial as Preston--both men think the other guy is completely out of his league. The other issue here is that Indie has only been in one long-term relationship, and so he doesn't really know how to do casual (which is the flipside of Efrain's problem), which is going to confuse the hell out of any guy.

Cory might be in for it when those deleted messages catch up to him. As to his brothers, Daddy's little hell beast will be the least of their worries.

I dunno. I think Shawn was a little too out of his element to have as much agency. Going from being the BIG guy to just an insignificant nothing will make anyone become scared and passive.

Adrian is just... He actively pursued Zac--secretly touching him, coming on to him in the bathroom, showing off for him--then ran at the first sign of trouble. It was, and still is, all about what Adrian wants, with no concern for Zac. Even their first sexual encounter was one-sided, with Adrian selfishly coming where he wanted, but unable to completely return the favor. Sex and love shouldn't be a tit-for-tat, but there has to be some kind of balance. There's no way in hell Adrian is "door number three;" he's the door best left shut.

"Stacked deck" Efrain is going to have his hands full with four of them in the house. I missed being able to write in Preston and Indie's voices (yeah, I need to do a Indie PoV soon!). They have their own drama building up, so you'll see more in up-coming chapters.

Yeah, them showing up seems a little drastic, so there is a chance their intentions are not the best. And, you know this is going to make Cory's emotional state swing even more violently.

Cory's support system is huge, and growing by the minute. Now, we have to figure out whether or not those brothers of his are going to join in.

I'd had the "Indie's being nice to me" line in my notes for MONTHS, but almost didn't get to use it. Also, I owe you a big fucking thank you for your input on bowl games--my dearth of knowledge was another hang up keeping the chapter from happening.
