  1. Thanks, Carlos. I think this chapter took so long because I was worried about connecting all the points between A and B.
  2. I'm hard at work on chapter 6. Glad this cliffhanger didn't have you picking up the pitchfork!
  3. Most certainly goners! Both of them are falling into things they'd said they wouldn't do, and neither can really help themselves. Love is a bitch.

    Leche

Yup, af means "as fuck." It's one of those things I picked up from younger people at work and social media. Indie's issues are a little complicated--jealousy is def in there, but only slightly.

    BAM! GAY DRAMA!

Trust Preston to get in on the action. Fun fact: I actually chatted up a guy on OKCupid who could do balloon animals with his junk. He said he had to do a lot of stretching at what not, but it didn't hurt too much. Alas, I was never able to orchestrate a hookup to see it irl.
  6. Both. It was bad enough for the poor straight bro to be exposed to two dudes totally getting it on, but factor in that he knows who those dudes are and it's enough to keep a guy up at night. Too many straight guys think men who are gay or bi are fruity and campy, and thus really easy to spot.
  7. Happy Happy Happy Birthday Mikie-kie-kie!
  8. So Little Magic Left is one of GA's "Must Read (Again and Again and Again and...) Stories."
  9. Wild Card Chapter 5—Rally the Troops If I’d been more awake, I’d probably be amazed at the engineering that went into making Cory’s cat—the amount of irritation Lola was able to produce was far greater than the sum of her tiny furry parts. I woke at the asscrack of dawn, for the fourth time since I went to bed, to a small paw batting at my nose and her small, but insistent, meows. She’d perched herself on my chest, somehow resting all her slight weight on one front paw, directly over a bru

    Taking Root

It's interesting how all the guys dropped the "y" off their names, but it's not surprising. They've really grown into thoughtful young men (something, I'm sure, had nothing to do with a certain guy in Miami). What is surprising is that Shawn attempted suicide is the first time Daleville has experienced the remnants of that Godforsaken cult. Even though their high school culture fosters acceptance and inclusion (how they managed that with such a intolerant school board is amazing), their community at large still harbors hateful people. How else could such an abhorrent excuse for Christianity be permitted to gain a foothold in their town? And, it isn't just the hateful who posed a threat. David's abuser had been a member of the church and community, and had open access to many children and teens. It's plausible that even more victims are out there.
  11. I did have a lot of fun with Preston in the roommate scene, and Efrain in the truck scene. Efrain can be really sweet--he just doesn't like others to know.
  12. I think that explains CJ's maturity CHOMP! (is that why Lourdes is from UF?) Thanks, Lisa When the hubs and I settle in our TBD location (yeah, can't wait to gtfo San Antonio), I'll be working on getting my PhD so I can work with new teachers. Maybe I can prepare them for what awaits them better than I was. I never thought of myself as a "Nifty writer" or a "LitE writer", just a writer who posted to those sites, but I definitely feel owned here. ^.^ Letting this feature lag would be a dark...er...black mark on our record A lot of peace in writing. I may have put on a few pounds, but I'm in a much better place than I was at the beginning of June. I think the things you identify as special are what keep the EPIC guys locked in my head. Kinda like the difference between a lover and a fuck buddy--you may get more sex with the fuck buddy, but it becomes tedious and stale after awhile without all the little things that come with the lover. I'm kinda embarrassed by those earlier attempts. I'm glad you stuck with me
  13. I'm happiest when I'm making your keyboards sticky. My sabbatical has been wonderful. I probably won't return to the k12 system anytime soon, but when I do, I'll be there to shake things up. Lemme guess, a 'Cane? I can forgive that (as long as you aren't a 'Nole). I specified inches for everyone but Preston, and kinda wished I hadn't. "Average", "above average", and "secretly smuggling a Louisville Slugger" woulda worked just fine for them. Hell, I might just go back and fix that (So, if y'all notice a bunch of edits in the coming days, it's just me messing with their junk). I don't think he's picked up on it, but I've been calling him "An Author Darkly" whenever he's in chat. I still post to LitE (and keep going back and forth on posting to Nifty), but always forget to post chapters until weeks later. It doesn't help matters that posting to GA is hella easy and lets me control more of what I put up. So, new CC coming up? I've been thinking of my own questions since Dark popped into chat a couple weeks ago. And, I love yours, too!
  14. He does have some cajones, doesn't he. As for Indie, there's something else going on there....(and if you think his name is awesome, just wait until you find out the whole thing )
  15. It's easy for straight men to dismiss men who know how to move (no matter their orientation) as less manly. Of course, it may be another case of over compensation. <_

    Cory Arrives

I'm glad you started reading, too. Preston and Cory are fun guys to channel jokes through. I intended Romero to play a bigger role in their world, but he kinda got lost.
  17. Thanks, Lisa. CHOMP!
  18. Preston is pretty average, which makes him look smaller by comparison. Although, I'm not sure Indie would mind either way since his "upgrade" is not just hotter than his ex, but noticeably bigger.
  19. One can never have enough hokie poking.
  20. I couldn't just do a Prendie book, but they've got their own drama brewing. (And, you're right, it should be "Moracchioli".) Yes, I got my Word key last week and have been steadily working on the new chappy. Thanks, Puppi. I've thought about doing one on them post college, but still don't have a title. As dynamite as they are, it still tickles me that I created Preston without Indie in mind (had I known then what I do know, his...erm...dimensions would be slightly different). I did have fun with that drunken Cory scene, and I'm glad it snagged you! Thorn and I used to predict which lines Graeme would pick, but we always chose wrong (and many times didn't even get close to the ones he did pick!). Right now, there are only three books planned because I haven't thought of a decent title for the Preston-inspired one. The most promising one, Spitfire, received tepid reviews from those I'd shared it with, which wasn't too surprising because even I wasn't sold on it myself.

    Girl Bait

Thanks Jay, but I......uh.......have to kinda maybe sorta write chapters 5 and 6 before I get hit with the pitchfork mob. >.

Efrain will be totally done for if Cory's brothers ever tell him these stories.

    Girl Bait

When he was sixteen or so, my uncle would take my baby brother (who was all of two or three) to the beach. Whenever he saw a hot chick, he'd send my brother over to ask if they wanted to hear his (my brother's) ghost story.

    Girl Bait

As with Midnight Cake, I worried that readers would be uninterested in a much younger Cory, but I'm glad both stories worked out.
