  1. Sounds good. The restaurant where I work is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so we won't be open on the Fourth of July this year. Seems a bit odd, considering how many customers could be served on such a busy holiday, but I'm not complaining. I already have a menu planned: Double cheeseburgers, potato salad, chili-lime corn, and peanut butter-Rice Krispies ice cream sandwiches.
  2. @raven1 Hey, Terry! How are you and Aod?
  3. I can't say I blame either guy for their behavior. Will has mostly negative memories of the Underworld, so he is blind (at first) to its beautiful sides. But Nico thinks of the Underworld as his second home, and he gets annoyed because Will doesn’t seem willing to give it a second chance. It's a test of their commitment to each other: if Will can't look past his bias, can their relationship survive? I don't know if you're reading a hard copy or an ebook, but the copy I read had a particular pattern printed on the pages where the "dream sequences" occurred. I would see the pattern on the paper and say, "Oh, okay, Nico is dreaming now." I think the first person POV works best if there's only one protagonist. With two protagonists, as in The Sun and the Star, readers might be confused which person's story they were reading, unless they checked the chapter headings. So, the story was written in third person POV for the sake of clarity.
  4. I just finished reading this! The depiction of Nyx, goddess of Night, reminds me of Tolkien's Ungoliant, the mother-of-spiders. Both have characteristics reminiscent of a black hole in outer space.
  5. Hey, Terry! How are you and Aod?
  6. No. That's only for Max's benefit.
  7. Well, technically, I'm Daddy; Morgan is Dad. But it still feels amazing to be called that.
  8. Hey, Spunky Drewster!
  9. Max loves strawberries and raspberries, but currants aren't so common around here, sadly. I'll have to see if I can find a berry farm that grows them.
  10. I've heard people who've met Gordon, say that he isn't nearly that salty IRL. The TV producers have him play it up for the cameras. You were saying, Drew?
  11. Reading his lips, Gordon definitely didn't say "frickin'".
  12. Someone on Reddit said that he met an English guy who seriously thought English people had not only set the global standard for spicy food, but they also invented spicy cuisine.
  13. Yeah, a lot of "Chinese" restaurants in America just serve an idea of Chinese food, not the traditional cuisine. There are exceptions, of course, and some of them are highly rated. I think trying a new restaurant could be good for me. Indian restaurants can be very inconsistent with their spices, I've heard. There was one story on Reddit about a place that had six levels of heat on their menu: American mild, American medium, American spicy, and then Indian mild, Indian medium, Indian spicy. A love story for the ages!
  14. Hey, Terry! Sounds like fun. Max has been asking to try a local place called Firefly, which has an Asian-inspired menu. My earliest experience with Thai, Chinese, Indian, etc, food was mostly limited to one mediocre Chinese restaurant near the airport. Because of that, I haven't tried much of those cuisines until Max convinced me to make a few dishes at home.
  15. I think you shared that story with me already, but thanks for jogging my memory!
  16. Hey, Drewberry Pi!
  17. I won't involve myself in the disputes between you and Spike anymore.
  18. @Drew Espinosa Any updates on Yayo?
  19. @Comicality If you think that's weird, what about this video of Christian Bale as a choirboy? I think he was barely even a teenager in this movie!
  20. Terry was the one who suggested that I arbitrate. And so I did.
