  1. Happy New Year's Eve, Dugh and Mum, Clo, and everyone else. May the next year be a fun and prosperous one.
  2. Well, I tried. I just gotta find a better distraction, next time.
  3. For @Drew Espinosa and @spike382.
  4. Nicky: It’s been in the CoTT lexicon for years. We don’t use it very often, but once in a while, it needs a good dusting-off.
  5. Seriously? We had to invent an entirely new word to accommodate your brand of denial: "Drewlusional".
  6. Remember to drink plenty of water!
  7. Hey, Dugh and Mum. I hope all is well.
  8. Hey, Nick! How's your wonderful froggy self?
  9. There was another segment where he tried to do a costume change, from a caterpillar into a butterfly. However, the leggings were too tight, and it had to be censored.
  10. Is that... isn't that Sethward? From America's Got Talent?
  11. I recounted this to Max, and he found it hilarious. 😂
  12. I'm not ashamed to say that I've watched entire series for one gay character or subplot. The Fosters, Andi Mack, The Conners, A Million Little Things... but they almost never go anywhere new and exciting. It's been a while since I've invested in anything newer than Heartstopper, and I could use a good series right now.
  13. Same to you. I hope the migraine is abating.
  14. "Freedom is Oppression." Where have I heard that before? Ahhh, yes. I remember: A little book I had to read in high school, written by George Orwell.
  15. Michael was invited to have dinner with us tonight. We had a smørrebrød of bacon, eggs, tomatoes, rye toast, and some pickled veggies. Currently, Max and Michael are snuggled on the sofa, watching Howl's Moving Castle.
  16. @spike382 @clochette I'm afraid the Drewth Empire has co-opted the Dominican government.
  17. My kids are chill. Grant and Haley are like little Energizer bunnies, always running everywhere.
  18. Nope, Grant is one year older.
  19. My poor sister-in-law has double the trouble with Grant and Haley.
  20. There are many different reasons for storytelling. Alice Oseman herself is a part of the queer community, and while Heartstopper may not be strictly "Own Voices", it's her attempt to show queer characters truthfully, rather than through an idealized, fantastic lens. I've read and watched the story faithfully since I first learned of it, and I believe that Heartstopper is one of the most honest portrayals currently available. Several actors in the Netflix adaptation (including the two protagonists) are also queer, though they may not have known it when filming began. Working on Heartstopper might just have helped them to discover their own identities, as it has for numerous fans.
  21. Give the kid a hydraulic press, and he could make enough diamonds to build a necklace for Mama Espinosa. Merry Christmas, Tink!
