    On another note, does anyone know any books/movies about dancing? Preferably male dancers. Fiction would be good, but real stories or documentaries would be better. I'm hopeful that showing Max some role models will help boost his confidence.

    My husband and I added a third wheel of our own to the household. His name is Max, nine years old. The only reason I can say anything now is because the adoption was finalized a few weeks ago. Max is allergic to turkey, so we'll be having a spiral-cut ham for dinner this year. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is actually what comes after: using up the leftovers to make other meals. Of course, I'm also looking forward to gathering with my in-laws again. We haven't seen them since April.

    Morgan and I watched Billy Elliot last night. Without Max, sadly. I'm sure he'd love the dancing, but the language is far too salty for a kid his age. Maybe when he's a little older.

    Max is very bright and curious, and he loves his classes at school. He gets good grades, and he likes soccer "just for fun", but his real interest is dancing. There are a few older lads in the dance class he attends, and I think they'll be a good influence on him. They usually help Max with stretching/warm-up and give him some pointers on his form. Other than that, Max helps with yard work and cleans his room without being asked. I think that's enough chores for now, but we might add more as he grows older.

    Currently, there's a movie on Hallmark Channel called "Christmas Sail". A woman teams up with her childhood friend to restore her father's yacht and enter it in the floating Christmas parade. Around here, the boats have all been stowed away on dry land. Can't imagine why anyone would go out sailing at this time of year...unless they were insane.
