  1. Aias Dalman was born on November 8th, 2009 in Vancouver, BC. Scouted by Young Moviemakers Director Levente Mihalik during kindergarten, Aias spent the next several years working in Vancouver independent film both as an actor and writer before he finally signed with a talent agent. By the age of 7, he was an early prodigy in math and science, and he even wrote several of his own short films, including Tough Guy (2018), and The Fortune Teller (2016). The Fortune Teller received "Best Film Overall" at the TIFF Young Filmmaker's Showcase, and Tough Guy has been screened at over 40 film festivals; it currently remains in circulation. Another short film, Teen Chick (2015), earned "Best Narrative" at the Calgary International Film Festival. While Aias may have autism, that doesn't stop the little dude from playing neurotypical characters in his film roles. His first major credits are When Time Got Louder (2021), Separate Sights (2020), and Michelle's (2019). Although he loves acting, Aias claims that his dream is to host a "Bill Nye" style Science Show, and ultimately give his own TED Talk on Neural Networks. Aias can program in JavaScript and Scratch, and has been designing his own video games since the age of 7. He also played alongside his younger brother, Azriel Dalman, in My First Time Biking to Work (2018).
  2. Glad to hear it.
  3. Hey, Bertie. How are you and Steve faring? Hey, Gary. Hey, Tea Bat.
  4. Hey, Ali! Nice to see you again.
  5. The fact that they multiply doesn’t help matters.
  6. @Comicality Benicio Bryant turns 17 today! Happy Birthday, dude! 🎂🍨🎁🎈🎈
  7. Hey, Sam! Welcome back.
  8. On Monday, a young lad started up in the kitchen where I work. Not sure how old he is, but I'd guess at least 14, which is the minimum age of employment in this State. He's terribly cute, with sandy blonde hair reaching down to his shoulders, and a pleasantly round face. His hands and elbows are covered in half-healed scrapes and scratches. As I recall, a few of Mickey's friends often had similar injuries from constant tumbles on concrete or asphalt, so I surmise it may be due to skateboarding or something like it. He's still finding his way around, but he learns quickly. The wee fellow also doesn't curse, unlike some older lads I work with. I've been guarding my own language since he joined us at the restaurant; I would hate for him to become too comfortable using bluefish words.
  9. Hey, Cassie!
  10. Cowboys, produced in 2019. Young actor Sasha Knight identifies as male, but was assigned female at birth, just like the character he plays in the movie. https://www.castingnetworks.com/news/on-the-verge-sasha-knight/
  11. Sending hugs and healing thoughts.
  12. Sasha Knight was born in 2009, raised in Los Angeles, and began performing in local community theater at age four. In October 2019, he starred in the movie Cowboys. The movie was selected for the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival, where Sasha's co-producers, Steve Zahn and Anna Kerrigan, won awards for Best Actor and Best Screenplay, respectively. Sasha also won Best Performance at the 2020 Outfest Film Festival. He has appeared on NCIS: New Orleans, Big Little Lies, The Boss Baby: Family Business, Young Sheldon, and has also provided his voice for the video game Kingdom Hearts 3. Like his character in Cowboys, Sasha identifies as male, but was assigned female at birth. Yup, Sasha is trans! I've never met anyone who identified as transgender at such a young age, but I hope this guy gets a chance to really shine in Hollywood! Best of luck to you, little dude! https://www.castingnetworks.com/news/on-the-verge-sasha-knight/
  13. I think we need more teens and younglings in Marvel stories. Negasonic Teenage Warhead or Andy Strucker, for example.
  14. We had Croque Monsieur with a cheddar and apple salad.
  15. I think Clo was talking about your green beans, not your bean pole.
  16. Hey, Dugh and Thistle. *scratches Thistle behind the ears* Thank you for the kilting story earlier, Dugh, short though it was.
  17. This movie, which recently hit theaters, is based on a true story. Reid Miller plays Jadin Bell, a young man who publicly comes out, and subsequently commits suicide after being relentlessly bullied at school. His family (Maxwell Jenkins, Connie Britton) is devastated, but Jadin's father (Mark Wahlberg), sets out on a journey across the country to speak out against bullying and raise awareness for LGBT+ youth. Despite the obvious tragedy involved, I'm looking forward to seeing this movie. It's "gritty" and it's definitely gonna hurt, but it's the kind of movie we need, you know?
  18. Thank you, Cassie.
  19. Thank you, everyone.
  20. You shouldn't have said "paddling". Now they're going to get ideas, especially Albert.
  21. Well, I know what I don't want in my next care package.
  22. Originally, I was going to post this as an "Underrated". But then, I learned that young Ben unfortunately passed away on January 9th, 2021, aged 16 years and 8 months. Ben's only major credits are Steel (2015) and Channel Zero (2016). He also could be seen on CTV mornings in a Manitoba Teacher Society commercial, in American record producer Nick Koenig’s work, as well as small Manitoba-made films. Ben modelled for Winnipeg Outfitters and Showtime Productions. He was very proud of his accomplishments. Ben was very generous and compassionate. In his spare time, he loved to participate in as many local charities or social events as possible. He even spent hours helping build floats for the annual Hecla parade, so he could show off his creative personality! An excerpt from his obituary* [Mom Heidi, Dad Dale and sister Lorelai will forever miss your infectious Daffy Duck giggle, Arnold Schwarzenegger accent and silly antics. We will miss your help around the farm and how you were always there to watch over your sister. Mom will miss Steven Spielberg marathons, Super Mario games and baking sugar cookies every holiday. Dad will miss wrestling and sitting on film sets with you (a favourite moment having lunch with John Carroll Lynch from The Walking Dead). Lorelai will miss fighting with you on 30-hour vacation road trips and canned ham lunches.] [Ben did more in 16 years than most do in a lifetime. From strutting the runway at the Convention Centre, Tarzan swinging from Arenal Volcano, swimming in Montezuma waterfall, snorkelling with Manatees, fishing off the coast of Cedar Key, climbing HooDoos in Drumheller, riding favourite Disney rides at Magic Kingdom past midnight, earning paycheques at 10 years old – Ben lived life to the fullest!] *For the full obituary reading, go here: https://www.gilbartfuneralhome.com/obituary/Ben-Grocholski It is not known at this point exactly how this remarkable young man died, but given the timing, we can only speculate that COVID may have been responsible. I watched both Steel and Channel Zero this afternoon, and I found Ben to be highly entertaining. Thank you, Ben, for bringing joy to everyone you touched. Don't let the afterlife get you down, okay? Keep making those parade floats! Maybe they'll let you help color those sugar skulls for Coco, yeah?
