I tried having a "Friends with Benefits" relationship with a buddy in high school. It worked for a while, but then I found myself falling in love with him. We still had fun (both in and out of the sheets), but I'm afraid I started getting an awkward attitude. And my friend could apparently sense it, because one day, he said, "I think we should stop jerking off together." I didn't say anything, I just nodded my head. I knew it was for the best. Eventually, he found himself a girlfriend, and I started dating a guy, and we settled back into our routine as friends. We never mentioned it again, but would share our romantic troubles with each other after a breakup. He was a great friend, and I still have a lot of admiration for him today, even though we've since fallen out of contact.

I got a call from my friend Jesse yesterday. His little brother, Merritt, is turning twelve next week, and we're invited to the party.

I just read today that Wednesday is the best day for grocery shopping. Only 11% of Americans shop on Wednesday. Good way to beat the crowds. Beef tacos and cilantro rice for us. Then it's off to the grocery store.
