    Chapter twenty-two

Well, I didn't see that coming! Great plot twist. You're doing an excellent job of revealing Raymond's depth as you peel back the layers. I agree that Teslas are cool (they're manufactured 20 minutes away from here), although I know many people who own them and the experience isn't universally fabulous. I guess I'm still stuck in my Stuttgart phase.

    Chapter 9

I know I'm late to the party, but what a great story this is! I'm completely hooked. Unlike some of the other readers, I have no Texas ties - other than business trips to Austin (and drives into the beautiful surrounding countryside) and layovers at DFW. I love Rudy's barbecue, and Texas politics both horrify and scare the crap out of me.

    Walls

One of the best stories from one of my favorite writers on Gay Authors. A must read, but do yourselves a favor and start at the beginning of the CJ series. You will be as captivated as the rest of us.

    Chapter 5 - Adam

You're a mean one, Mr. Bndmetl. ;-) But, the tension, the nervous anticipation, the unknowing longing, and the aborted connection will make the getting together all the more delicious and soul-satisfying. Maybe even explosive. Such a great chapter! So many layers. These side journeys are every bit as engrossing as the core story. Well done.

    Chapter 27

The almost agonizing anticipation made it all the sweeter! It seems that they both realize the stakes.

    Chapter 4 - Ian

I know that Ian took Patrick in to give him a safe, emotionally secure home, but he needs Patrick every bit as much as Patrick needs him. This storyline is so heartwarming. They are both lucky to have found each other.
  7. Beautifully frustrating ... like life, sometimes. A great chapter.

    Chapter 35

Will's mother would be a perfect fit for Trump's White House.

    Chapter 1 - Patrick

Another spin-off off your terrific story, "William's Love"! YAY!!! These side tales evidence the richness of your characters in that they can sustain their own stories. Really looking forward to this. Droughtquake is right, it does take some of the sting away from the (premature....ahem) end to Seb and Beau's story! ;-)
  10. I adore this story and was truly excited to see the update notification! Nate and Bodie warm my heart and have become my favorite characters. Terrific chapter! Can hardly wait for more.

    Ryder and Teddy

Living your life "(in a good way!)" Is more important. Besides, I'd much rather have quality over quantity... and I am unanimous in that. ;-)

    Ryder and Teddy

This is one hard-fought relationship but, when they work and become solid, they're usually the strongest. I'm really pulling for these two. While I admit to loving feel-good romantic stories, yours is raw and real and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

    Chapter 34

The size and depth of Will's and Liam's hearts continue to amaze me. Those two are all the more impressive, considering their young age. I get that Derek is very protective of the kids, but he's being an ass - and the chip on his shoulder is grating. Excellent character, though; he adds dimension to the plot. Thanks for continuing to feature the deepening relationship between Seb and the adorable Beau (now that their side story has concluded).
  14. Wow. Don is a far bigger asshole than I dared fear. And Daniel...I can understand how his feelings could be complicated, but his reaction seems downright hostile. He reminds me of people I've known - or even worked with - who are "fine with the gays" when our orientation is viewed in the abstract and our sexuality isn't really contemplated. However, as soon as we're seen holding a boyfriend's or a husband's hand, they can't tolerate the reality and their barely suppressed homophobia surfaces. I hope that's not Daniel's issue, but considering his dad's retrograde, Neanderthal attitude, one has to wonder if it isn't at least part of it. Compelling, disturbing chapter.

    Lyrics

Hmmm... you're a bit too prescient for comfort. That's exactly what I was thinking, which makes it disconcerting. ;-)

    The Studio

I think you may be right, though I'm not sure it's romantic jealousy. After all, the green monster does take on many iterations. Still, during Mike's rant, Shakespeare's words kept running through my head; it does seem like Mike was protesting a bit too much. As for his allusions to Teddy's prior flaky behavior, Mike doesn't seem to understand - or want to accept - that Teddy is maturing and becoming more introspective - realizing some of his past mistakes. Moreover, what may gall Mike the most is that he senses that Teddy's newfound indignation at the way people have treated Ryder parallels Teddy's growing feelings for him. Teddy needs to be wary of Mike. I can foresee him trying to sabotage Ryder's nascent trust in Teddy. This is really a terrific story and I'm so glad I found it.

    Epilogue

I've loved this Walls series - one of my very favorites on Gay Authors. Excellent work, Carlos. You make it look so easy, when it's not. I can hardly wait for Georgetown! PS... Harley's middle name cracked me up - out loud. Oshkosh? Hilariously appropriate. The only more awkward Wiscaaansin middle name you might've chosen would be Oconomowoc.

    Chapter 29

This is what weddings are supposed to be like. Pure magic! Thank you.

    Early August

I just finished enjoying this beautiful story again after having read it the first time early this year. I think I enjoyed it even more the second time through, perhaps because I am in a different place in my life and am able to take time to more deeply appreciate the calming, captivating warmth of this affirming love story. Really an exceptional piece.

    February 2016

Loved the orange Teletubby description! I am admittedly a liberal Democrat, but a recovered Republican. I can feel an inexorable movement toward marriage discussions for CJ and Ozzie, but I sense a cliffhanger coming on for some reason. Maybe it's just dedicated reader paranoia. JP Santa Clara, home of Levi's Stadium (FKA Santa Monica?!). ;-).
  21. PLEASE do continue! This story is so captivating that I'd love to read more, especially about the other mate pairs you've introduced - particularly the gay couples: Hugh and Connor, and the two younger boys as they grow up and become self-aware.

    Chapter 12

Terrific, sweet love story with the best ending, even though it is bittersweet for Brett. I suppose that Brett's personal life is an object lesson in what happens when one does not learn the importance of being true to oneself and making affirmative life choices. This is a perfect illustration of the axiom that the failure to choose still results in a decision - often the wrong one. In trying to understand him, I think it's fair to say that he was not well served by his mother; she should have provided the direction end guidance he so desperately needed rather than blame his problems on Cory. I'm so glad that Corey and Adrian are together! They both chose well and are living happily as a result. Such a great career choice you made for Adrian! Young kids desperately need school leaders who know what it is to be bullied and mistreated, and who will fiercely advocate for them.
  23. Carlos, so glad to see this chapter appear this morning. Your posting times are so consistent that when it didn't show up at it's usual 1:30-ish AM Pacific time, I feared something might have happened to you. I admit it. I'm a sap for the sappy stuff - when it's heartfelt. Perhaps it was because we had to wait so damn long for it, but CJ's admission of love was surprisingly moving. Poor, hunky Travis. Being surrounded by so many unavailable, untouchable hot guys in ski clothes would be tough - sort of like being an auto enthusiast invited to an exclusive car show, only to discover that the Ferraris, McLarens, and Lambos are all locked and behind velvet ropes. Love Richie's sharp wit and how well he fits in with the older guys. His lawyer joke made me laugh out loud; it's a genre of humor I've loved since law school.
  24. Great chapter, Carlos! (I need to find another way of saying that.) ¡Me encantó este capítulo! There. ;-) While I expected it, I'm still so relieved that CJ is staying in DC for college. He couldn't leave Richie again at this point in his younger brother's life, and he absolutely needs to stay close to Ozzie. Your discussion of the quilt brought back emotional memories of the first time I walked into the Names Project and watched panels being laid out and sown, when it was still located on upper Market in the Castro. Still brings tears. I love how you so accurately captured Obama's "voice" through his humor, cadence and linguistic patterns. I felt like I could hear him speak. Well done!

    November 2015

Loved the chapter, Carlos, but your terrific series compels me to stay up way too late on Thursday night to read the latest installment. ;-) The White House scene made me wistfully nostalgic for a time when we had an honorable President and first family living and working there. I can hardly wait to learn of CJ's college plans!
