  1. No, it's also stylistic ticks - how you frame sentences, write dialogue, even words you're known to be fond of.
  2. Ah, well... yes. But that rather depends on how much I'm trying (or not trying) to disguise myself, doesn't it? I have to say I'd struggle to write that story, given how far outside my comfort zone it is.
  3. As with the other 2 suggestions, I can see logic there - I've written about royalty though rather differently. My guess might be for someone non-UK... And yes, I know that doesn't exactly narrow the field down very much. What do I know? Maybe I wrote it in my sleep...
  4. So I agree with Lee - twice means it must be right. Yeah? ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜„
  5. OK - of the two stories currently attributed to me (Liminal and Family secret), I can confidently say neither is by me. I guess @chris191070 for Liminal and @Valkyrie for Family secret. So which is mine... ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  6. Ah, yes, but which story did I write.... ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  7. Hi Cia, is this topic destined for the front page sometime soon? It'd be sad if some people miss out because they haven't seen the poll.
  8. My comments are purely hypothetical. "If I were to..." ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ˜„
  9. That would definitely be my strategy. Anthos are a great time to experiment and I'd take the same mindset here... Also, a British 'accent' is kinda noticeable...
  10. I use the free version of WPS Office (a Word clone). Depends what you need as to whether something like that would be useful. I don't use their cloud storage, instead I rely on Google Drive to automatically back up my work in case of accidents. I only ever use my laptop to continue working. Microsoft does indeed have all their users over a barrel in so many ways.
  11. This is me - absolutely. I started something several months ago and then got side-tracked. Will I come back to it in time? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Who knows...
  12. Normally, the prospect of reading a Western will make me run in the opposite direction. I'd sooner stare at a wall.๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ˜„. However, Gary is the only author I know who would be able to persuade me to give it a go. He's soaked up the Western genre, history, and applies it to his usual wonderful dialogue and diverse situations.
  13. Congratulations! Welcome to Signature.
  14. Never done this contest before... Will this be the year? ๐Ÿ‘€ But there again, I've an antho entry to be written as well. Hmm....
  15. I can just imagine singing the Psalm - to what tune, I'm not sure. Whereas, To Eros, aches to be declaimed. On the stage maybe, or some corner of the Parthenon. How you managed, every day, to summon up inspiration and put it into practice, is in its turn inspirational.
  16. I love your maths verse. I may not have any idea what you're going on about but the sounds and mouth feel of the words always delight and amuse.
  17. April 16 and 17 both made me smile. In fact, 17 elicited a grin. A wonderful example of you playing with words and sounds, and managing, somehow, to make sense. Kinda... ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ˜„

Yes, indeed, if they can get past both the initial encounter and any baggage that might result from their joint pasts. They've both changed a lot since then.

Arthritis is one of those ailments that doesn't get much publicity or general sympathy, yet it can have a really restricting effect on someone's life. I hope you experience some improvement.
