  1. Comments for me are like the rays of a yellow sun for Superman!
  2. Definitely a lot of emotions going on!
  3. Not all tropes are bad! I've built my whole writing career on tropes!
  4. Yes indeed, sex does tend to bring out all the emotions at once. Danny never would have confessed his love for Jake wirhout his emotions being all heightened by passion. Jake is just all over the place trying to sort everything out that's going on in his head. While Danny might have confessed his love for his girlfriends, maybe this is the first time he really feels it?
  5. Making characters miserable is my specialty! I think Jake feels horribly guilty, but also horny, and that one tends to win at that age.
  6. Gay fiction rule #1 - Fictional characters are immune to STI's unless it's relevant to the plot.
  7. Jake - "I certainly would never do something so seedy!" Danny - "I might." Ryan - "I need to change my pants again..."
  8. They certainly stepped in it pretty deep.... Twice!
  9. Wonderful comments! Thank you! There's just something about putting these two together... It both invigorates and damages them to be together. It hurts to be together, it hurts to be apart. Ah, why is youth wasted on the young!?
  10. You're asking for a horny teenage boy to remember a lesson he learned 12 hours ago? Now who's being naïve?
  11. The running scene was one of my favorite little bits of writing for Brett, right up there with the scene of Brett "practicing" on a banana in the middle of the cafeteria in front of Emily and Billy back in the day. He's still a mischievous little devil at heart.
  12. That was one possibility!
  13. Both the chase and the crash can be fun to watch!
  14. There was certainly a lot of testosterone flying around in that dorm room!
  15. Well that's one visual I won't be able to unsee! lol
  16. That certainly seems to be Danny's thoughts in this go-around.
  17. As I was writing round two I was thinking about the duality of feeling both right and wrong at the same time. "This time will be the last one, I swear." Yeah right!
  18. I figured Danny had the lotion in his suitcase for solo pursuits rather than expecting anything to happen with Jake. After all, it's been months since the break-up with Lydia. A guy has needs.
  19. Gay fiction rule #1 - Fictional characters are immune to STI's unless it's relevant to the plot. 😉
  20. But if she knows, you wouldn't know she knows unless Billy knows that she knows, and you know, he doesn't know she knows. Now I have a headache...
  21. Titles are fun! lol! And thanks for reading String! I've wondered how people who read it first would react going back and seeing Mr. Reilly being a total brat!

    Band Camp

Someone asked at some point, "Do we have to call him "Mr. Reilly?" You know what? If you've seen a character naked, you can call them by their first (or middle) name.

    Sprints

I may add it later, but I didn't want people to have to have read WAR to enjoy this one, and seeing a "part 9" in any form, even a world, says to me personally, "Oh gee I don't have time to read 8 books before this one." If a reader needs to know something about what happened, I try to give that information without having to go back and read it.

    Phantom Menace

He's very creative. He knows the way he's tried to do things with this group haven't been working, hence his frustration.

    Phantom Menace

Yeah, if it's going along well, you know the writer is up to something! It will definitely mess with Jake's head that he acted just like his father in the worst way possible. The fact that Mr. Reilly isn't a neurotic mess is kind of a miracle. That necklace has a lot of significance! When Mr. Reilly said this year was going to be harder, he was referring to something like this. in that first year, he could come in with a clean slate and instill the discipline and order he wanted. After a year of being around these kids, relationships have formed and it makes it harder to be the drill sergeant. Fondness has grown on both sides.
