  1. I've only had time to sqeeze in a few minutes here and there on "The Sims 2"
  2. We have a blue skin. What color is a priority to you?
  3. I just spent the last 2 hours getting the Story Archive to work again. Grrr. It functions though.
  4. And the dancing two boys can do is rather disturbing... my eyes certainly got wide.
  5. Welcome to everyone that has just joined.
  6. Until I get a chance to sit down and correct differences in servers, you'll notice a few broken links and broken images. A mass update is due this weekend when I'll have time to do the updates.
  7. Happy Birthday! I hope it goes well for you! :king:
  8. Have you played The Sims 2 yet? It is so realistic. Heh. Getting two teen boys to make out is all sorts of fun
  9. Well, it does seem google is awfully fast about changing their minds, then.
  10. fixed. thanks.
  11. I will be closing the board Friday at 6 pm or so. It will be closed as long as it taked your DNS to update. (should be by Sunday)
  12. I can't seem to split this topic right now due to a bug in the software. So I'm closing it until I can upgrade the board and fix it.
  13. You're teacher is a paranoid leftwing nut. And Homeland Security department was pushed down the throat of President Bush by the democrats in Congress.
  14. It would probably be best not to discuss that here Sparhawk, though I think you are quite right. Bush certainly pisses me off catering to the religious right bigots on the gay issue, but overall, I trust him one hell of a lot more with the War on Terror. Kerry seems to think that the $200 billion spent on the War on Terror would have been better spent on education. WTF? We be educated, but we be dead. Good Job.

The Chat room is open 24 hours a day... it's just a question of getting people to show up to chat at the same time(s).
  16. No. I don't think I could do it. You can tell when the writer is passionate about what they are writing and when they are only faking it. Fortunately, we are much closer to the point where gay is mainstream. Look at the popular shows right now... Queer Eye for the Straight Guy... stuff like that.

Yeah... I remember that day all too well. I had taken a break from writing PoD and chatting with Sparhawk. I took a quick shower and came back to find my screen flooded with messages, including urgent ones from Sparhawk, all telling me to go turn on the TV. Which is what I did. Every single channel (all 70 of them) where the same bloody nightmare. I watched the first tower collapse. Then I stood around in disbelief. I jumped in my car and drove over to school, so I wasn't alone and I could talk to other people. I got to my department and found the office crammed tight. Over 50 people surrounding a 13inch tv. 3 engineers (profs) were discussing the collapse and trying to figure out why. We engineers design against the pancaking effect we saw on those towers. I watched as students exited isolated classes and found out. The campus closed and students started to gather in front of the large screens and small screens all over campus. That night, I watched our president on the moviescreen in the main auditorium at school with over 1000 of my schoolmates.
  19. Sounds like you have a serious problem with your java. Comsie's site is currently using a java-based countdown timer. I'd try running Windows update to get all your updates first. If that doesn't work, download Sun's Java and install it. Or you can try shutting off Java in your internet options.

I think I might know who Sparhawk is talking about and I certainly know why he feels the way he does either way. and I, too, have learned some lessons about sharing. But I still keep my chat services, since that's kind of required. You can use the Chat server on here! We're paying for it, might as well use the service. You can even set up private rooms if you so desire.
  21. Very Cool.
  22. It is usually very hard to edit your own stuff. Mainly because, you know what you wanted to say. Therefore you keep reading over the same thing and not seeing a problem with it. You can generally avoid this by going a decent period of time between writing it and editing it. People rarely have the patience though.
  23. Nav: 1) yes, but it is not that easy. Changing one setting blows a whole bunch of others totally out of whack. It takes a lot of time to tweak those settings correctly 2) We are running beta software where the skin style/settings are going to change, hence why there is very little customization at the moment. The new version is due out in final form next week. Hopefully, after next weekend, this will no longer be an issue and we will have multiple colors to choose from. Myr
  24. Nope, I have something more insidious in mind. I go out and try to actively recruit authors to come join this place. So far, I've been very pleased with the authors that have come along. When I'm writing, I'm writing to please myself really. So I compete against me, since I'm the only one I need to beat to satisfy my ego. In writing, no two people can write the same way. Certainly, you can mimic, but as your latest chapter of GFD has pointed out, being a mimic and being the real thing are two vastly different things. Well... thinking about it now, I do like it over at Fanfiction, where when you search, my HP fanfic, HP and the Parliament of Dreams, is one of the longest stories, and most reviewed on fanfiction. And with over 160,000 HP stories, having that distinction is an ego boost Great questions Comsie! Myr

    Too Quiet!

I've been getting that myself. And also from professors on my next revision of my thesis. *sigh*
