I was wondering the same thing. Were the other parts to this story in some of the other stories that have been posted since part one that fills in the blanks. I went back to the last Chapter Adventures of Devon Carlton, but didn't see a chapter that had been added.
-
Another Great chapter! Thanks Mark. Please keep them coming!

Thank You! I was about to give up hope. I had only found the Bridgemont Series about 3 months ago and was breezing right thru it without having to wait any. I actually thought it was completed when I started reading since I saw it was started in early 2011. But it is really a Great Story. I hope it goes on for many more books.

Stanollie, I agree. I was going to make a very similar comment myself if you had not already done it. Circumnavigation is still my favorite of all stories I have read on GA and that is saying a lot, because there are a lot of amazing writers and stories on this site. But this one and Let the Music Play are very close in running with Circumnavigation. I just hope this isn't the last of the great work posted from C James on this site. Or if anyone knows where he might be post now please let me know.

I know this story was written half a decade ago, but I am just now reading it. One question is with very poor cell connection and land lines down. On an Island out in the Atlantic how can Helen call a press conference? Two 3 nukes on an island that is just about to explode isn't the smartest idea. But just incase the press conference was to go thru and the US Gov finds out the nukes are there. How are the mercenaries going to get off the island to fade away in world.

I have the same feeling you do on that. I think the General has earned a lot of respect from her.

Granger has the luxury of having Hercule and some of his expertise in and willingness to learn new was in armaments and munitions! Granger has had the foresight to experiment and venture into new and cutting edge idea's of his own and some of the trusted men he has had the pleasure of accumulating since he became a sailor. Admiralty should be quicker to follow his lead on some of his accomplishments in making his ship more efficient and comfortable for himself and his men.

Well they should be able to apply for a waiver on the poll tax when they apply for assistance in food stamps or housing. But so does a gun owner should be able to get a waiver on a permit. Poor people need to be able to legally protect themselves and their family too.
-
But the ones that do use anonymous sources to release a story just to make someone look bad and then it later it is found out that it was bogus should either be banned from the press just like a lawyer can be disbarred. Or one that writes a story or article and intentionally omits the major components that raises doubt that there ever was a reason to write about it to start with. Then a few days later buried within the paper a apology or retraction. They should never be able to post again or put out of business.
-
The key word, "Good journalism" Hard to find that these days. Looks more like let's dig up some dirt or make up some from an anonymous source that can't be substantiated. If it keeps going like it is today. Reporters may need to loose their rights to protect their anonymous sources. Or if ever caught lying the loose their right to ever use an anonymous source again.

I think gun ownership is regulated/limited. I have to register a gun. Living here in GA I also have to be finger printed (all 10 fingers) and pay a steep license fee to be able to carry one legally after going thru an FBI check that takes sometimes over a month. If I am protected by the 2nd amendment why do I have to go thru this and pay a fee. If a gun owner has to go thru all this. I certainly don't see why a person that has the right to vote shouldn't have to go thru a thorough registration to be able to vote and also show a valid ID. I certainly wouldn't mind even having to pay a pole tax to help pay for the cost of every election either. $5, $10, up maybe to $20. Fair is fair!

I am reading "Georgetown: As Time Goes By" It is listed as the 10th in the CJ series. "Goodnight my Angel was listed as 9th. I thought there was some unanswered questions as I was reading that series. So you might want to change the numbering for future readers. I am already in chapter 4 of ATGB now. Will eventually get to "Singer"

Great story!

I have had the feeling that Patrick was gay from when he was first introduced into the story. And him being upset about being called Paddy because he thought it made him sound gay. He also has become one of my favorite characters in this story.
-
I believe Patrick plays for the same team too! He just isn't there yet, but I think he is on his way!

Bernardo is a fucking creep! But hey there are plenty of them in the real world. I hope CJ doesn't get too messed up with this. Even if he avoids the rape it can be trying if JM doesn't step up and do the right thing. Somehow I thought all along ever since he had been brought into the story, that Dash or Dasan was from West TX. Or again that might have been Trip. Not sure.

First thing that popped into my mind when the "taking the boat over to Bimini for the long weekend" came up was boat accident! I wonder if the Colonel Dick has any brothers or sisters? Is that the one scenario you may be thinking? Brett and César would make a great Dad for Ritchie. Aba may think he would be better off with them and CJ. Just a thought.
-
I like the way CJ handled Lourdes too. And then finding out his Dad's overheard it all and didn't interfere was great too.
-
I love Harley. I think he is really a cool kid. I was wondering the same thing about his Dad. Would have thought that he would have entered the story by now maybe going on a ride with them or maybe in conflict with his son now being associated with a bunch of gay guys. Maybe he didn't realize it and finds out accidently. I even thought when he finally meets CJ for the first time it is the biker that CJ kicked his ass on the ride day. Or they are friends with each other.

Just like Huon was. Very quick in doing very harsh punishment for anyone that might piss him off. Buying properties and abandoning them and running away. Spoiled with new riches and likes throwing a fit when something doesn't go his way. One of the few flaws I see in Quakka's stories. Punish an entire family or group of people for just one persons actions instead of making it a positive learning experience the person at fault. The world is a bad enough place as it is. If everyone one of us took drastic actions for everything that pissed us off or transgressed against us it really would be bloody scene in every village, town, city, state, and country in the world. People have to have a thicker skin or be able to try to work out their differences better than that.

I thought Jardines was the one that gave the Pox to the guy that Granger got with when he was in the Indies the first time he visited and when he fell in love with the baths. May have been back in the book before this one when that came up when Granger was so piss off with Jardines with what Arthur was going thru. I may be mistaken though.
-
That has been my thoughts all along that Arthur may have Syphilis and it is eating into his brain.

I am searching my memory, but what happened to Lt. Robey. I thought he got over his wounds he had. I can't remember him being transferred or any more injury's. I know that was a while ago. I know him and Roberts were lovers. But at what stage or chapter of this book or the last one did he disappear?
-
I want to thank you Mark for such a great story you have shared with us so far. I look forward to reading the next story in this series. Keep up the Great Job!
-
I remember Ranger being mentioned 7 - 9 chapters ago. I believe it was with might have been right after Robey was injured or close to dying, but can't remember. Probably been hunting rats!
