'Dad' Carleton Jeffries passed 'the bed test' with flying colors. I'm a little surprised that Chris didn't ask about the other boys being controlled by 'Daan', but if he was the youngest and newest boy-for-rent maybe he hadn't bonded with them. (Spoiler Alert?) Wait... recollections in this and the previous two chapters are Carleton Jeffries' recollections of his activities rescuing 'street boys' before his death. They are in the book our (still unnamed) narrator and new home buyer was given to read by Steven Jeffries, one of Carleton's 'sons'. Or as Steven said, "I have brothers all over the world. All have been set up in business by my father. I think after reading that book, (diary?) you'll get to know my father..." Steven is one of the 'street boys' who became Carleton's 'sons' (and Steven's 'brothers' ) around the world. Will the next few chapters be our (unnamed!) narrator's continued reading of Carleton's diary/journal? As for why the house / estate isn't already in a proper 'trust' even though as Steven reveals the 'sons' control a trust Carleton set up (to fund the boys, but, "...the trust owns ... the property surrounding the house and grounds." OMG, I don't like getting ahead of myself, so I'm going to stop now rather than continue to guess Carleton's 'trip down memory lane'. Sorry if I'm spoiling anything. Just an over eager reader. Take Care, Stay Safe, 6ft / 2m Distant, & WearTheDamnMask. And if that bothers anyone, to quote Caryn Elaine Johnson* aka Whoopi: "Suck it up". * not just on the

Okaaay. Change can be good, but for Edwin this is 180 degrees. Or is it? When he first became 'Wigan' and journeyed to UK with his "best mate' Lucas it seemed a 'connection' was there waiting to be uncovered. If not in UK proper, then perhaps on the Isle where he installed Lucas as pub manager near the bolt hole / home they shared. Did fear of media (Edwin) and being discovered/outed (Edwin or Lucas) keep them in denial? Next, another title (Fordell), more responsibility, Lucas left behind and rarely mentioned (love lost due to neglect?) and moving to Zurich for 4 years of Uni. (a lonely, solitary, studying only 4 year gap with no FWB? Mein Gott was he preparing to be a monk?) Back home down under, attacked, escaping death, amnesia, and when he gets it all together it's hookup time? I'm not saying every Story on GA has to be focused on sex. In fact many GA stories are better without sex, but that doesn't mean close personal positive relationships can't be explored. In many Q stories the hints are there, some the size of a mountain.

The Girl from Ipanema
Anton_Cloche commented on Wombat Bill's story chapter in The Girl from Ipanema
Interesting chapter Bill. The news about Gran finally seems to be a little better. (despite Dan having to endure aural Prozac while on hold). My own recent trip to an ER also had decades old 'elevator music'. Now if only Christine would stop going on and on about her favourite 'bikie'. -
I'm not saying that CLJobe is purposely misleading us, ("oh what a tangled web we weave...)", but perhaps just a really different approach to story telling? I think weinerdog may have taken the wrong fork in the road. Carleton 'Jeffries' is not the (still unnamed, and annoying habit) narrator and new home owner in the Prologue. Carleton is, in fact, Steven's father and the deceased owner of the house. Clear as mud?

Wow. OK, you've got my attention, now let's see where this leads (got a few ideas already). But, three things. One, who is our narrator (again not introducing himself to the late home owner's son Steven Jeffries). Two, if Steven's father was adept enough at business, and set his children up in successful businesses, why didn't he: (a) set up automatic payment to keep from defaulting, (b) give his son Durable POA, (c) ensure Trust was either a Living Trust (staying in family) or a Legacy Trust (SD Reg) to be Tax-Free? Sorry, too many questions from a former (and NEVER again) Executor/Trustee.

Thanks Wes. Upcoming holidays, birthdays, anniversaries or just every day, no matter where you live, or what you (used to) celebrate can be a difficult time when people are missing. It's not easy to get over feeling that loss, when a chair at the table is empty. Whether recent like empresslovesreading's husband, or 5 years ago like JamesB's son, that feeling doesn't completely go away. I slowly found it easier to remember what made them happy even if only for a moment. A joke, a smile, something silly, You just have to find what works for you. And if you can't, then do the hard thing and reach out to anyone, a 'Help Line', 'Crisis Center' community services, Toll-free Hotline, religious connection On The Phone! Texting isn't the same connection (and yet I'm writing, hmm). Maybe volunteer at a soup kitchen preparing meals-to-go for others in need. Stop for a moment a talk to that person asking for spare change - especially if it's a child or teen! Knit or donate hats and gloves to those without (winter's arriving with a vengence). Whatever works for you. While it's supposedly incorrect to say God Bless (why?), let me just say, Take Care, Be Kind To Yourself, and perhaps think of what your loved one would wish for you. (is that a bit of a smile or glimmer in your eye?).

Fantastic chapter! The sailing details are spot on. Your descriptions of the 'Welcome Aboard' walk-around of SV Belle Catherine plus that of leisure time and dining aboard plays in my mind like a very well done travel-log or YouTube video. Make that video part of the advertising, and you'll have a waiting list seasons long. Well done. Man I wish this C-19 pandemic was over so I could safely travel. Stay Safe. 2m (1 dingy width) apart, and yes, #WearTheMask (every time I hear those instructions, I'm a wee lad and Mom's reminding me . More chapters please. Tony

More to come? Please.

Glad Edwin is on the mend, and keeping his location on the D/L, although I'm surprised his Mum didn't push to spend more time with him. But then, who better to know his stubborn streak. As for 'Below Deck - Tasmania', interesting new location, and a way to keep his frightened crew. Always knew there was a 'real' Captain on board, in addition to the 'show' one, minding the yacht during production. Of course with GoPro cameras it's easier and less disruptive on board. But keeping Edwin secret? That's going to be a challenge.

Chapter 38 – A Birthday and Thanksgiving
Anton_Cloche commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 38 – A Birthday and Thanksgiving
Great early Thanksgiving Chapter Bill. Almost all the family getting together, an opportunity to catch up on what's been happening to everyone. I appreciate Graham having a conversation with Josh (Dad). Graham's continuing 'gift' as a seer, to communicate with the family who have died, gives Josh solace knowing they live on, especially Cody whose death nearly claimed Josh, and Brent whose death deeply impacted Kevin. Those of us who believe or hope in an 'afterlife', find some comfort in that. Thank you Bill, and best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving in a few weeks. Take care, Stay Safe, Socially Distant (6 ft / 2m apart) and keep on #WearTheMask. -
Get Out of Your Stubbies
Anton_Cloche commented on Wombat Bill's story chapter in Get Out of Your Stubbies
Another good chapter. Things seem to be getting sorted. No bad news about Gran must be good. Hmm Bikie? A step above or below 'tradie', 'sparkie' and other trades? -
A wonderful chapter. The sea trial of Belle Catherine, and the journey back to South Africa gives us a little more insight into Andrew and Ryan's relationship as it strengthens. Now we await the Lodge expansion, and the yacht's guests.

Didn't Gene Wilder say "It's pronounced 'Fraunk-en-schteen? Perhaps Pesi's middle name is Igor (pronounced 'Eye-gore'). Ooh, and we know that Pesi's made up of parts cannibalized from other things Dr. Frankenstein took apart.

Wonderful homecoming x2. First to the Lodge and its bright future. Expanding a property while retaining the original look is a hard trick to pull off. (For reference Chateau Lake Louise in Banff, Canada was expanded twice, but harkens to its original appearance). The second homecoming, is to the launch of Belle Catherine named in honour of Andrew's late mother. Well done indeed, properly fitted and welcoming Drew and Ry to their water abode.

אױ װײ It seems nothing is ever easy with these families. And I forgot the time setting for this. Perhaps in future chapters or books you can start / clarify with a brief time and date of when story takes place.
-
I like the story, but seem to recall having read it earlier. Did you post it elsewhere previously? Really looking forward to next chapters, Professor Pesi and WHN. I share weinerdog and chris191070 comments about devices like Pesi (Alexa etc) that, so far, listen to 'Everything' and SURPRISE sharing your info 24/7/365 every time is does a software upgrade automatically, usually every few hours. Not only is that truly invasive, but sharing with whom? An IT friend at MS told me recently he won't allow those 'things' in his house, AND certainly not unless his house is built to be a complete SKIF because of hacking, both domestically and foreign. A cohort of Gates and Allan, with more degrees than anyone else I know, 'I' tend to listen to him.

Amnesia + concussion = FAS* Edwin is in Big trouble. At minimum he needs a head CT or preferably MRI to check for and eliminate clots with TPa (clot buster, but most effective if administered in first 3 hours). At least he can communicate, albeit with restrictions. I would think between 'Tipperary' and being a no-show for the charter flight, Robert will be alerted, coordinate with the Calamity Jane's Captain on the logging truck info and along with Hunter find Edwin before the terrorists. * FAS - Foreign Accent Syndrome is a medical condition in which patients develop speech patterns that are perceived as a foreign language, that is different from their native one. While is usually results from a stroke, it can also result from head trauma.

Chapter 6 - Another winter day
Anton_Cloche commented on dianjin's story chapter in Chapter 6 - Another winter day
5 years on, can't find continuation or ending for this story and it's ominous cliffhanger. Max's doppelganger can only be Will, or his own dark shadow. Update or redirection to rest of story would be appreciated. T@B -
Dale being over 16 (drivers license) could be a big help to Jeff in working with the younger children. After all he was responsible for keeping his younger brother Jimmy safe once they found themselves on the street. (perhaps you can incorporate some group discussions where we get some of the children's history). Children need each other for support and 'olders' like Jeff for protection and Hope.

Okaay. Very interesting chapter. A bit James Bondish, which is not necessarily a bad thing. What are a group of Romansh, apparently criminals , from Grisons in southern Switzerland doing at the bottom end of the planet (relative to their home), if not prepping for some criminal activity? High-jacking MY's (Motor Yachts like the Calamity Jane), to use for drug running is a possibility with crime groups from Asia. The other possibility is kidnapping for profit, but the seems initially unlikely with Edwin since he/they didn't recognize Edwin, and because you don't try and kill a hostage. So they just see him as someone who can upset their plans. UNTIL, whoever their phone contact / info source is discovers Edwin's identity and high value ($$$$ €€€€ ¥¥¥¥). BUT, (a big one), Edwin saying 'Tipperary' should immediately active Hunter and his former SAS skills to get to and protect Edwin.(does Edwin wear one of those 'hip' woven bracelets you see on lots of younger people, but who British MI-5/6 & SAS have Harry & Wills wear since it has a 'tracker' inside?). Tick tock...

Arrgh, the shocking photo of Dame Edna at the end have me a start. I thought the 'face furniture' had moved on the that wisteria lounge above the clouds. Glad to see Kevin and Steve getting sorted out. About their schoolmate Efron (Zac?) what's up with him? Stalker? Lonely heart? Confused? Or all of the above. Bad enough the magpies are after him, let's just not have K&S on his case.

Wow. The IOT family returns to action as Xander expands his Australian section of the global Louis-Devereaux quintumviriate. Is his underground 'space' the ultimate Safe Room? If so why doesn't he use 're-breathing' technology to scrub oxygen for longer than 15 hours, like navy subs. Seems Seb & Lewis know about that, for the coming 'oops'. Will we see Lewis, Sebastian and the twins make an appearance? Of that I have no doubt. After all Seb and Lewis' 'Southern Explorer' has to put in at Port every once in a while. Might we see interaction with media-shy like-minded aristocrats - Baron Edwin Fordell and Lord Lewis (note proper Peerage ranking) - who also share interests in Law, Historic Properties restoration, protecting the environment, flora and fauna? Why not, South East Perth less than a stone's throw from where Edwin is. Throw all that into a meeting scheduling App and see who has an opening. C-19 giving you extra time to work on this. Stay Safe, 2m Distant and #WearTheDamnMask. + =

Jim? Are you testing us? In the order we meet our characters and first learn their names we have, to start, our Lotto winner Jeff Simpson. (Realtor Brad Wilkins who sells him the rural Virginia farm 4 hours from Washington DC, which by my experience puts it near Culpeper). The boys, by appearance: Squirt aka Paul; Todd; Abe; Luke; Roy and Bob. The only 'Jim' is James the architect. What are you up to?
-
And so it begins. Jeff is ready to start. Does the road to salvation run through a Virginia farm?
