I have really enjoyed reading this story, I am glad that Eric is moving on with his life and learning how to use a computer and also that he will start to get out more. Looking forward to reading more in the next book.

What an ass Andy’s dad is, why his wife suffers his ignorance, drinking and his attitude is beyond me, she should leave him and take everything she can. Eric’s neighbour reminds me of a woman in a tv show in the late 1970s, called Number 96 it was about the lives of the residents in a block of flats in Paddington, Sydney, Doris was the self appointed concierge of the building and liked to know everything that was going on, her poor hen pecked husband was called Herbert, her favourite saying was Herbert why wasn’t I told? the show was also very risqué it had bed hopping people, you got to see naked women’s breast, a bit of lesbian sex and gay men in bed, with Dudley Butterfield who was a right old movie buff, his line was did you ever see, he rattled off the name of a movie and then started talking about the main stars of the movie. Number 96 gave plenty of teenage boys something to ogle at, and learn a thing or two about sex etc.

Christmas is so commercialised that it’s not funny, children pester their parents to buy them this and that, people spend to much money on presents and food etc, it’s just not a nice time of the year. Sometimes it’s just the way that a child is born, 2 of my cousins have dark skin, their dad is Malaysian Chinese, the oldest daughter has 2 boys and they have white skin, the other daughter has 3 kids and her oldest child has a lovely caramel colouring and the other two don’t have the same skin colour. When I go to the supermarket I use a handheld scanner, it scans the barcode, keeps a tally of your groceries, then bag the items, go to the self serve scan tills, scan the QR code, pay via Google Pay and then leave the store, it’s quick, efficient and given the current health pandemic I don’t have to interact with people. Although now I am more likely to buy my groceries online.

I hope that the books are large print so that Eric can read them. I am also one to support small businesses wherever I can, the dry cleaners, barber, local greengrocers, printer, travel agent, loads of other small businesses.

This bus looks similar to the ones that they have in Banff, our buses have have a ramp that is used for wheelchair use, the buses in London are mainly Mercedes Benz or Volvo, we do have the Van Hool as seen in the picture some of the tourist buses are Irizar UK

Andy and Eric didn’t get off to a good start, I would like to think that they give each other a chance, and I think that Andy needs to ask Eric what he needs help with, even though it’s obvious that he cannot cope on his own, It would seem that Eric has been living a bit like a hermit the last few years as his health has deteriorated. The aged pension in England is very low, so many older folk are living in poverty as there aren’t any real benefits, which it seems is the same in America.

Vintage Volt on Quest in the UK not sure if it’s shown on cable tv in the states, is a show about a group of grease monkeys converting classic cars to electric, as a petrol head and a Classic car owner and enthusiast they should stay as is, it’s wrong to muck around with them

There are going to be more cars in the breakers yards as it’s not cost efficient to replace the batteries, converting existing cars to electric is very expensive and also not cost effective, the SL Shop just converted a R107 Mercedes Benz to become the Sportline Zero, which I think they will sell for £100k, it’s a one off conversion and restoration.
