    Chapter 1

Below the cliffs lie tilled fields golden now with winter’s wheat This is beautiful... a clay flowerpot tipped and broken where tenacious red geraniums still grow This is very vivid and captures the scene for me .. And prompt 5. Very well done. I especially like this: I set aside minutes and then while away hours, having done nothing I slope into slumber with the same lie on my lips These are an excellent start!
  2. Cooking is not my favourite sport. I did make tim one unburned grilled cheese during our fifteen year (so far) marriage. I've burned a lot more. Needless to say, I'm persona non grata in the kitchen. I agree with you about the hot dogs, I'd add to that marshmallows but I don't think I've had one in the past fifteen years.
  3. My we do have a fixation, don't we?
  4. Very true as long as I'm not in charge of them. Unless you enjoy the charred version. 🔥
  5. @akascrubber acknowledging comments brings back again to this most marvelous of poems. This was a triumph, my boy. I'm grateful to have read it again.
  6. You'd lose today. It's been a week and I need a day off. Listening to the Leicester City game at the present time and then plan to spend some time with FarCry 6. Dan and tim can do what they want in the kitchen.
  7. My first thought once I'd finished reading this was... Thank you, God. Of course, it's not God but you, tim. You who have come to see your own worth. I hope you can see that now mirrored in the eyes of those of us who love you. Not to be a downer, but you suffer from depression and you will likely lose this feeling during those times, but now I can point you here. Then you will remember what is possible. Your own words and feelings to help drive away the negativity. Until that becomes necessary, remember you are worth it, you always have been. Don't obsess over the daily poem (or anything). Try, but remember that trying or writing a portion is okay. It is enough.
  8. It is frustrating. The fact of it is, there isn't always an obvious or easy answer. I'm loathe to ask for additional medications, he takes enough daily as it is. Often the over-the-counter painkillers will work for him. It sounds the same for your husband. The symptoms just don't fit no matter the tests they run.
  9. he's been for tests as this isn't new, but nothing was found. They say it sounds like a migraine but they don't think it is. They also think it may be stress headaches, but waking up with them is odd. We tried different pillows, more fluids (we'll look at this again) maybe more exercise for better sleep. Perhaps some night time meditation. If nothing works, we'll return to the doctor.
  10. Some day, boy, some day. It looks like snow for the beginning of winter, not now.
  11. Bit of spice never hurt anyone, or so you keep telling me.
  12. You need to try harder then. LOL
  13. Wayne, you not getting enough, son? LOL
  14. Ours isn't too bad yet, likely because it's quite wet. I can hardly wait for it to dry up.
  15. Not all sisters together, eh? How did the bossman react to this news? These four are costing him money and reputation.
  16. I can only imagine. So good you had to remove it, eh? LOL
  17. Sounds like you enjoy a challenge from your partners. Which sounds enjoyable. My partners normally are required to do as they are told, they aren't offered a choice and I certainly don't wrestle with them. However, our lives are quite different. I'm sure you're on that list...wrestling partners for position is a thing.
  18. Thirty notifications.. I just skipped to the end. I enjoyed the pics, though they are a bit on the beefy side for my personal tastes.
  19. Interesting. I can understand why you chose not to add anything about this piece. I'm not sure I'd call it a beacon, but it's brave and the pictures it brings to mind are of strength, loss and power. I'm sure I'll read this several times.
