    The End

you're right of course. Living includes dying. There isn't a choice in that. What we do with our time, is. How we love and care for others is a choice and the most important things we'll do. We cannot let knowing our ultimate fate, stop us from living everyday. It is built into us to work, to live and love. And since we are here, then we may as well. you have seen the worst in people, experienced much we never should in your life. Leave it now in the past and enjoy what we have today and tomorrow. xo
  2. I'm well, thank you, girl. "Not as well", doesn't sound too bad. I've no doubt you'll continue to improve the more you use this new skill. Rome was not built in a day ... or in a month. I don't think I need to say, "don't quit".
  3. Thanks to all of you for your best wishes. Dad is doing pretty well. He's had 3 small strokes and is in hospital. He can walk and speak though he has facial drooping on the left and some weakness on the same side. They are trying to determine why and think it may have something to do with his cancer treatments. They are looking to send him to a rehab centre for 2 weeks to help with getting him back on his feet. Thank you all again for your kind thoughts and words.
  4. my dear molly pop you have the skills. you have the tenacity. you can build your confidence. Allow yourself time to adjust and learn this new skill. I have every faith you will turn this corner and find success. I'm sure you've spoken to Phil. Remember He is there to help you. M

    Flutter

As I'm married to a poet, I think I can say syllables only matter if you're writing certain types of poetry. Even then a line that's 'out' by one or two, isn't important. What is important is the emotion and feelings expressed. This one you've written is perfectly clear. It touched me. That's a win for sure.
  6. Wayne is right. What he says about who decides about what you need to be happy, may not seem to fit in with our lifestyle. I decide a lot of things for us. I hope I'm right. I hope you're happy. I hope my choices are right for us. I know I cannot make you happy. Only you have that power. I can offer suggestions, ideas, support and love. And yarn ... lots and lots of yarn. I believe happiness can only be found within each of us. It's not a constant 'stepford wives' kind of thing. It can be fleeting, and elusive. It can be that piece of cake you've been craving for months, or seeing a nuthatch land on the balcony. It can be remembering your mom's rose garden. Happiness is made up of many and varied things. It makes me think of Dicken's A Christmas Carol and Marley's chain ... except this isn't an unimaginable weight. It is sweet moments, laughter, beauty and love that are sewn together with gossamer thread. We can wrap ourselves in it and call it happiness. you are on the right track, boy. You should not live in the past. Keep on pushing it back and keep looking around you today. Tomorrow will look after itself. Btw, your latest order of yarn, shipped today. xoxo
  7. you just keep on, boy. Remember what we talked about.

boy, I sometimes do not have the words. I love you, will have to suffice. xo
  10. Thank you, molly Being 'on' is hard work, but I've every faith in you. I hope you found it worthwhile.

    Moments

you've been quiet and pensive so this poem doesn't surprise me. I like that it's questioning things in the world, rather than turning inward.
  14. They usually seat me on an exit row for a number of reasons; because I'm tall, I'm muscular and can get the door open, and people pay attention to me. I mean they obey me. So, I have leg room.
  15. I am off tomorrow to see John in Vancouver for a few days. Leaving the boy home alone. It will be good to see him. You all take care.
  16. That's excellent! Enjoy yourselves!
  17. Lots to consider here. You've gotten lots of good advice and you're wise enough to take it. The gift of life is the ultimate thing we can do. Sign your donor cards. Talk to your families about your wishes. Of course, we don't want our loved ones to die, but if part of me can save another family some pain, well it's worth it. It's my last loving act in this world. @1brokNangel I wish you and your family strength and peace.
  18. Just a reminder to those who may not know.. GIFs are not welcome. Granted it was discussed sometime ago. Please refrain. Thank you.
