This trip was always going to be about healing on two levels: the primary and obvious one is Asa healing the hybrid pups (his healing of Theo is a promising indicator after the twins, hopefully he paces himself so that his health remains unaffected). Secondary is Caleb’s healing, which started with Asa coming into his life but would not be completed until he faced Vann and his former pack….Sebastian’s public apology and acknowledgement of Caleb’s excellent leadership did much to mending his broken psyche; if Caleb’s reflection that morning reflected an image of what he used to be, he’ll be leaving the compound with an even better visage. 🪞 Enya is right that Vann deserves the truth but Asa is also right, it is up to Caleb to decide when the time is right. We want to say that good triumphs over evil because the forces of good are stronger….while I believe that to be so, the forces of evil can never be discounted-they are strong and insidious, as it preys upon vulnerabilities and ignorance, on top of the fact I believe some people are just born more bad 🤷‍♀️ Evil thrives when good men do nothing….Sebastian vs. Huntington? My 💵’s on Sebastian, all the way.

This was a very enjoyable chapter. Brian, Gordon and Toby have settled in nicely as a new family unit, now they intermingle as such with their society at large….while Toby misses his mother, he seems to have a realistic view of her, her absence guarantees a bigger turnout for Toby at school functions and life in general, which he seems to really appreciate. Toby and Noah’s sexual exploration was no surprise, just wondering if they are going to be friends with benefits or progress into something more It was interesting to see the further development of Brian and Gordon’s sex life, Brian is quite the power bottom & Gordon is all too happy to share his expertise with him, lol. Their new normal looks pretty great, hopefully typhoon Deirdre stays far out to shore.

ME TOO!!!! That it didn’t happen now just increases the likelihood it’ll happen in the next chapter….or the one after that, to throw us off, lol.

Instead of feeling alarmed, Elijah welcomed the sensation.” This felt like Kage giving his protection over their union, as they did not need his blessing, what followed confirmed that he gave both….for all his shadow abilities, Kage was pure goodness at heart, it was fitting that he came out of Elijah “A thin tendril of brightness” that “illuminated the room”, he celebrated this union, for while Kage was not Elijah’s mate, Elijah was the truest love of Kage’s life….it is from that love that Kage shared his gift with Elijah and the most important people in his life. “I got your back.” I am my beloved and my beloved is mine. ❤️💞💞 This was really beautiful, it was what us Kage lovers needed to move forward and let Elijah and Ashton be. Thank you. ❤️‍🩹 This gift to the newly mated quartet will also ensure that Kage is involved in the capture, punishment & eradication of that mangy he bitch.

Workplace hookups happen all the time but I still feel some kind of way about Toby and Noah watching Kostas and Bruno….not quite sure about Kostas at all, with his subtle advertising to Toby, I don’t think Brian would like it too tough, either. Toby and Noah both like ecology and botany, they are in the same age range and both gay….experimentation will be attempted at minimum, lol.

Because I thought it, I’m writing it: Mpreg. This chapter made me think of mpreg. Ashton, Austin and their husbands would make beautiful babies….maybe the Kage light could inhabit Elijah & Ashton’s baby? Drug like sounding (though totally sober) thought done, lol.

What was touching was in the midst of all the revelry, Caleb and Vann was very frontburner for Asa: “Asa was preoccupied, looking across the room at Caleb with a concerned expression. The former pack Alpha had his arms around a young boy about eleven or twelve. The kid was looking up at him with adoration. “ Caleb’s problems are Asa’s problems, Caleb’s joys are Asa’s joys.

“Elijah and Tyler shared an understanding smile. They were used to the closeness they shared—the need to be near, to rely on each other. Especially today. The next several hours were going to be tough.” This passage touched me because I interpreted it two ways: 1/ Elijah and Tyler had been in Austin & Ashton’s company enough to understand the twin bond they had, made closer due to their captivity 2/ Elijah and Tyler are as twin like as non twins can be, their genuine love for each other is transcendent, which makes them the perfect in laws for A & A….they get it and will never be jealous about it. 💞 The twin thing almost derailed the healing but leave it to crafty Elijah to put 2 and 2 together, 👏 A & A’s healing was reminiscent of Reilly’s, while the abuse of Reilly’s wolf kept him in suspended adolescence, the hybrid spell (an abuse of it’s own, sadly descended from Reilly’s original abuse) would do the same to the twins. The family reunion didn’t disappoint and the crowd around them weren’t the only ones crying as they bore witness. Taco Mac & Cheese? Lemon meringue cheesecake? What a food porn tease, you used to go much harder, lol. 🌮 🥮 “After licking his plate clean, much to his mom's dismay, judging by the look she gave him, he threw away the disposable plate and fork.” Full disclosure-I do this with ice cream cake (especially Carvel’s, those crunchies?!?! 😋)….started as a child and have no shame in my game, (okay, I’m a bit more circumspect in public, 🙄) So Asa is the hybrid cure….Ashton and Austin were more human than wolf, did that have a bearing on the healing? Time will tell as Asa deals with each case. 🤞

Always a bridesmaid and never a bride? Lol. Some people have that fate, I don’t think Sven should be one of them. Sven is an excellent cameraman, respected and liked in his field, the Seahawks season tickets he and his family have and use show that he’s family oriented. I suspect like most people, he sells himself short in his personal life, falls hard and passive aggressively plays his hand, usually to his detriment. Sven’s loyalty to Loe by telling Jay about the Lars sighting even after being rejected by Loren speaks to a strength of character not many people would have displayed in the same position….he is a good guy who deserves a break, perhaps after he establishes some boundaries & expectations of his own. Sven auditioned as boyfriend material for Loe by trying to show adaptability and flexibility (in more ways than one, lol) and wound up giving away nookie to someone that wants to work for it….Men like a challenge & Sven deserves to be courted, not bent over “that couch” and disregarded after. That's my five cents. (price raised from two due to inflation, ☺️)

Sex is one of the most pleasurable things two people (or one) can engage in….with that said, it’s different strokes for different folks, as long as everything is consensual. Kudos to Connor’s open mindedness & his willingness to ask the uncomfortable and embarrassing questions.

Are you related to Neil deGrasse Tyson?” That this was Tad’s immediate response confirmed he and Jeremy were meant for each other, lol. What commenced was a lifelong friendship that included both their families. While I’m sure Jeremy would have loved he and Tad’s relationship to turn romantic, Tad showed how special Jeremy was/is to him by continuing to hook up even after he realized he was heterosexual, as well as naming one of his sons after him. jeremy’s leap of faith yielded great benefits. Lovely story.

That’s if he wasn’t blowing smoke up Kyan’s tookus about going on the trip. If Perry was going to propose, I’d like Max to be there & I'm not opposed to a #ReMax pairing…. I just see great potential in two loyal, feisty, characters who can use a chance on healthy and happy love.

That the chapter started with a jump forward in time showing the remnants of an adventurous night between Kyan and Perry (with Perry bottoming!!) was a clear sign that this was truly a new life for Kyan. YAY!!!! Hooray for the JayLoe family cameo, Loren Patrick is a natural connection to get Kyan next level with his small business….the professional validation Loe gave choosing BedSack for his “Small Business Saturday Showcase” is just as important as the personal validation Perry clearly gives him as a partner. “The parents that once judged him now rallied behind him.” Kyan’ll take their money but if I was him, I would not be friendly with any of those judgmental, fickle fuckers….buuuut that’s just me. Max is still number one friend, Midder Max’s way with Gracie is so winning, he has her number, even if she still gives a little sass….Keegan being back full time with his mother means she’s in recovery, congratulations to her….Max will clearly always be around for his nephew but this gives him more time to have his own life, which I see does not include Reid (at this time.) 👀 Perry coaching Noah’s baseball team, gave me the warm fuzzies inside….he is living his dream life-a dream he never thought would come true. “Dayna’s Day” is a beautiful idea…. I hope wherever she is, she’s come to peace with where her family is-both the one she was born to & the one she gave birth to. The proposal would have been nice to witness but we all know where Kyan and Perry are going, so it’s a great place to leave them. This was a journey rich with dichotomy: love & loss, clarity & confusion, endings & beginnings, with life moving on throughout. Thank you @Mrsgnomie for another enticing, satisfying exploration into the many ways love and family are created.
