  1. As far as your style goes, you seem to take your time as far as laying out the setting of the story and describing the characters and scenes. Are these what you feel most comfortable writing?

    The Elementalist

Very cool! It's awesome to read another author on this site who also enjoys writing fantasy! I'm liking what I'm reading so far and getting a feel for the characters.
  3. This was a such a treat to read, though I'm sorry for your experience haha. It's so relatable and sounded like a joy to write :P. I hope you're feeling better!!

    Killers

Scary. It must be unsettling hearing these stories when you must walk through your neighborhood every day and not know if the person behind the wheel is paying attention to you. These stories are familiar and frightening. I appreciate your written thoughts on the subject.

    Chapter 75 S.A.D.

The winter can be challenging. I don't know if you're used to being outdoors, but it feels like its hard to be out and about in the winter, especially with the rain in Seattle :/. It could make me feel cooped up and mess with my mood. I hope writing has been of some solace for you as it has to some degree for me :).
  6. I find it so difficult to write haikus, and you wrote five! Your skill shows, and I felt the passion in your writing. Thank you for these!
  7. Very sad, yet well written piece. Your description of foggy memories is described well. Thanks for the share :).
  8. This was a nice poem to read. I could envision the imagery you used showing how things were back then. A nice blast to the past. Thanks for sharing!

    The Fallout

    Thank you @Nana Atuwa !!!
  13. I flew for sometime before traveling on ground. The air was heavier in these parts, weighed down by humidity. I was curious to be an observer of these people instead of acting on my duties as a soldier of the Royal Army. I’d ground myself in a place they call Orion. Many of the townsfolk looked upon me with peculiarity, probably having never seen a Neku unclothed and unarmed. A few managed to recognize me, judging by their looks of anger and fear. Maybe that’s how they looked at all of us.

    The Fallout

Thank you, @kbois! It was fun short story to create, trying to write as though I'm in the mind of someone who knows they're doing something morally questionable, and how this mentally, emotionally, and physically alters them. I'm glad you enjoyed :)!
  15. Aww, thank you NoSkis ^_^!!!!
  16. A blue flame kindled in the background. I was left in my room, allowed to awaken in the confines of my own private space. Seeing where I was, I removed myself from my bedding, slowly investigating my legs, belly, and chest, seeing them function normally and remain intact. I lifted from the bed and felt myself restored! My lungs expanding and constricting, the sound of my stomach rumbling and vibrating in my ears. My arms, hands, and feet, they all moved smoothly. I didn’t feel any pain. Who

Thank you so much, Parker 🧡!! I'm glad to have finally been able to conclude it after starting it I think a year ago? I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I hope to write more soon :))))!

    Playing with Fire

Yep, all the fun and risk taking seems enjoyable for a time. But when you make those kinds of risks, there's always a chance it'll blow up in your face later, ie losing a friend.

    Bi the Way...

Thank you Parker! You feel for Lex in the sense that you know he's a closeted bi man in a marriage. And while his desires are not wrong, the way that he and the narrator go about it may not be the best, and it obviously negatively affects them internally. What seems harmless now gets a little sticky later.

    Foolish

Yes! I tried as best as possible to humanize Lex, even though he isn't the most ethical of characters. I also wanted to show that our narrator isn't necessarily trying to be vindictive, at least for now, in his choosing to be with someone who is married. If you were able to pick up on this, then I hope I described it well !

    The Fallout

“Are you sure you want us to be around for this?” asked Loren. “No, but you’re here now,” I said. “I can’t believe you’ve been going around with your junk on fire all this time,” said PJ without any tact as usual. “I don’t know how you do it. I don’t know how I’d do it.” I scoffed. It had already been a few days since I’d seen the nurse. He said he would need to do some tests, having drawn my blood and taken my urine. I couldn’t believe this was a thing that others had to do when the

    Getting Burned

“Ahh...fuck!” It was happening again! Every once in awhile, when I needed to go to the bathroom, I’d notice this burning feeling creep up inside me. It hadn’t been going on for very long, maybe a few days, and it felt more irritating than anything. Since it has come and gone, I figured it was on its way out of my system. That was my hope. “You okay over there?” I zipped up and flushed. “Uh yeah...no worries, man.” PJ was shaving at the sink in the shared shower room on our dorm f
  24. “You’re still with that sleazebag?! Bro, I knew you had some masochistic tendencies, but this takes the cake!” “Fuck you, PJ.” “Don’t get upset with me! If I knew you were into married men, I’d introduce you to my dad’s friends!” PJ was further adding to my humiliation by chucking it up in the study lab within the Sciences Department. We’re surrounded by students using microscopes, handling slides and Bunsen burners, and we’ve already been asked to keep it down twice. But alas, this

    Bi the Way...

Frisbees flew past our heads as we wandered through the emerald green Lyon Field. Our school’s soccer field was taken over by booths with signs made of construction paper, paint, and glitter, propped up and held high by our several clubs and organizations. Royal purple and gold flourished around worn on our shirts and shorts, painted on our faces, dyed in our hair. Classmates got intricate henna tattoos done by the Muslim Student Alliance, took pictures in the photo booths provided by the Studen
