Yes, you're right, dear godmom, there is something there, and as always, you have great intuition. But it is not as much as Jett not wanting to be gay as not wanting ... something else that I believe will become more clear as the story progresses. The thing with people, even those who appear to be simple at first glance, is that there are made from multiple layers (and now I remember the donkey from Shrek calling Shrek 'onion boy'), and Jett might want to keep everything clear and simple, without succeeding much.
Jett's father will play a role in the story, at the right moment, and you will be able to judge for yourself how much Jett's upbringing and his relationship with his dad influenced his shaping up as a man, as well.
As for the big reveal, I might keep it as the cherry on top, as the mess the outline for this story is at this point demands my attention in multiple and varied ways ... like usual, it looks like I haven't changed, lol!
