Yeah, that was pretty much what I wanted to say. Having had worked in a place where sometimes I couldn't eat for days because of stress, I just wanted to point out what awful it can be. Thank you for your comment!

Well, maybe they're not members of a cult, but they bow with much adoration to St. Profit, which can be as bad as any other false gods. I haven't thought a lot about the boss and his motivations, as my intention was to leave him flat and sort of a cardboard character, but your description of him can be pretty much spot on. You're right to be cynical of his inclinations, and I'm glad that I succeeded in this 'show don't tell' portion of the story. Thanks a lot, as usual!

Hmm, if you're thinking that the boss is actually a better person than he shows, I'm terribly afraid that you'll be disappointed. Thanks for your comment, and, as long as confessions are concerned, they will get better (with some mishaps along the way).

He-he-he, thanks a lot! I live for this!

Thank you! I'm glad that you noticed how they are both advancing. In any relationship I write, I am most interested in giving characters growth so that they become something at the end of it all.

Chapter Twenty-Four – Publicity Stunt Aidan could tell something was not quite right from the moment he set foot into the office. A couple of gossipers by the water cooler threw him strange looks while another guy quickly averted his eyes the moment he looked at him. What could have happened to warrant such a peculiar welcome from his colleagues, when, usually, they totally ignored his existence? He didn’t have time to ponder over the change in atmosphere, as the door to the big kahuna’s

I guess that's also how you make a fire 'that you can't put out' ....

As I replied to @droughtquake, there is a word for 'insensitive' in my language that could tell a lot about a person, lol! Edit: Just to make it clear, I have no idea who Dan Savage is, and I'm not saying anything about him!
-
Ha-ha-ha, and someone else joins the gif parade! I don't mind! I love it! Also, @Kapucinski may feel more motivated by the competition!
-
Well, some people are more insensitive than others ... And in my language, you can say 'insensitive' as another word that practically says that someone's a total scumbag, lol!
-
Toothpaste might be an euphemism to something they also put in their mouths ... errr, I shouldn't have gone there, right?
-
Yeap, that pretty much sums it all up! Their dance is getting more and more intimate, and this is something they both notice. Who will say it first? Feel free to place your bet
-
Yes, yes, the distance is growing shorter ... Thank you for your praise! It really means a lot! And, as always, you made my day with the gif! The one on top looks very much like a tomcat I had for nine years! He was a big of a scumbag, too, at times, lol!
-
Yes, Aidan starts to believe. I know he's a little bunny, but with each passing moment, he gains confidence! I hope that will show even better as the story will progress!
-
Thank you! I'm planning to bring the boys closer than ever

Chapter Twenty-Three – At A Stop “So, are you ready?” Heathcliff looked over his shoulder at Aidan. “Come, take my hand. I promise I won’t be all over you once you set foot outside the house.” “I have a feeling this might be a little too much,” Aidan said. “What am I going to say at work about this?” “Just that you are ensuring the success of the company through all means necessary. I’m sure they will appreciate it.” “The scary thing is that you may be right.” Aidan grimaced, but

You're right about Heathcliff; he would be 'deadlier'. But I totally agree with you that Aidan should leave some feedback upon leaving that horrible workplace, lol! -

That's true, and I'm glad you remember that - which happened, I think, almost ten chapters back. But I have bigger plans for Aidan. You'll see! -

I think it can be especially hard when it's not about something that's overly in a certain way. And bosses dictate what kind of environment exists at the workplace. And, since they are humans, and have many different flaws, you can have some big surprises with how things stand in different places! -

Who should do the bitch slapping? Aidan or Heathcliff?
