  1. Someone realized where I got the name from! I can't believe it! Yes, indeed, but no relation exists for the name beyond the fact that I remembered the name of that play. The Latin professor... for now, he had some good advice for Lawrence.
  2. That is one question Lawrence already filed for later perusal. He needs to focus only on the details that matter... or seem to matter. But he's smart and will remember things.
  3. Chapter Seven – Second Times Are Sweeter Education was taken seriously at Veridien. Throughout his first day of learning, Lawrence found it impossible to escape the many obligations for the average student attending the academy’s lessons until it was too late to explore the grounds without drawing unwanted attention. His methods of investigation – not exactly tried and tested – required getting the lay of the land first, but he was forced to reevaluate his priorities. It looked like he
  4. I think that would be quite challenging! (to be a vegan wolfshifter) - but you can take pride in being the first of their kind to say no to steak! (or maybe only eat in human form - there must be a workaround, just in case) Theo is no match for Jack. Jack basically walks around with a pocket full of kryptonite, aka humor.
  5. Everybody votes for steak, lol.
  6. Of course. He can't be called Theo. Jack says - hold my beer.
  7. They are so hitting the ground running. That's also their chance to shine! Especially for Jack. This little pun of mine will make sense at one point.
  8. You're correct. It's a way for Jack and Vee to witness the past. On the other hand, for the longest of times, Theodore didn't recall what truly happened to his pack.
  9. I promise they're delicious!
  10. Yep, they're quite the pair, lol!
  11. Chapter Thirty-Five – The Shadows Grow Longer It wasn’t yet noon when they left the settlement, headed for the Black Forest. But their steps seemed to linger, something pulling them back as if wanting to prevent them from arriving. Vince knew he should ask if they were getting any closer. The day of the Embercasting, as young Theo had explained to them, was essential not only for the Whiteflame wolf pack, but for the world as a whole as well. The pyre lit on this day would keep the evil spi
  12. Thank you! And I will check out that movie!
  13. I will put your detective skills to the test! Consider yourselves warned!
  14. He-he, I will look forward to how the readers' opinions of various characters change over time. A fluffer, lol. Yes, I'm old enough to know what the term means!
  15. Oh, Bastien is right to warn Lawrence. And Lawrence will be on his guard, but will it be enough?
  16. Hmm, what an interesting POV. Yes, readers get to see only what Lawrence gets to see, hence the whole mystery. As he investigates, I like to believe that the readers will start investigating by his side! Motivations - oh yes, that's what a motive makes!
  17. I know I think it's because I'm focusing on the mystery - without neglecting the characters, only they will be revealed more gradually. If it helps, it will still be a love story - though romance might be only a subplot in this one for a change.
  18. Lawrence is down to earth for the most part. His attraction to Bastien may work or not in favor of his investigation... but we will see!
  19. That's a reasonable worry to have!
  20. Oh, yes, especially some of them Bastien... will charm Lawrence.
  21. Chapter Six – The Invisible People The first thing Lawrence did after waking up and getting ready for the day was to ignore Bastien’s order about not taking the empty pot back to the kitchens or express his gratitude in any way. To prevent curiosity and questions, he had wrapped it in the same cloth, along with the spoon that had been provided with the meal. It had been a hearty dish, allowing Lawrence to go to sleep in a good mood, but now he was back to being the investigator in charge of
  22. Thank you so much. It means a lot. I hate stories where details are forgotten or things exist without mattering for the plot, so I always do my best to make my stories make sense.
