Thank you for all your comments! Jamie did a good share of growing, I agree. And Hearst needed to navigate shady waters, because it's never that easy to get what you want. I like to think that Wen and Hearst do care about each other to a degree. Hearst doesn't think that this sort of soul-selling job is a good option for Wen, and Wen often thinks that he must protect his younger brother. They disagree, however, on important aspects, hence their distancing.

You're a bit on to something in what you're saying about Brad... he doesn't even know what he's doing. And who might you be talking about when you say Alexander is like one of your favorite characters? Could it be... the forever charming Mr. Darcy?

I am so hiding them... That's so interesting, about how you see them as a family. I worry at times that the depth of their friendship is not clear for the readers, but I see that I'm getting my point across. While it's fun to write easygoing college kids as characters, I think this version is closer to the truth. It's the age where we still want to impress upon others that we're cool, interesting, witty, knowledgeable, etc. (insert your own choices). So they all perform without being completely truthful. And each of them hurts because of that, but in college, yeah... they weren't ready. And you're asking the right question. Brad reunites them, but why? He just recreated his triangle of a family... or did he? I have a big reveal planned out, but it will come much later. Until then, enjoy getting to know the characters

Wow @Cane23 be aware, you have competition It's so true what you say about Lyn. He's the one with the difficult to bear secret, of his own design, of course, but still. However, he's too caught up in his own head that he fails to see that the others might not have it all 'figured out' as he suspects. Adoration is not love... I agree. Lyn should learn the difference. He doesn't question anything. He thinks things just 'are'. He-he, Alexander is water... I like this. He might turn into solid ground at one point. Just saying. (Lyn is up for grabs for smacking, but he might end up dizzy).

Okay, let's go Hmm, yeah, the male bonding is pretty strong in Alexander and Brad, who act like they don't give a damn, while for Lyn, it's all this big disaster waiting to happen. His friends have nothing to hide, unlike him. (But that's just Lyn's version of the 'truth'.) He doesn't even realize that his denial, his refusal to own up to his own preferences and identity complicates things. Alexander doesn't ask him those questions by accident. He truly wants to know what Lyn thinks, because he realizes something's very wrong there... Patronizing, even a lil' bit humiliating? Yeah, I guess it is, lol. Alexander can be a little petty, although he's too subtle for Lyn to understand what he's seeing. Oh, self-erasure sounds pretty much like Lyn. He's so decided and determined that he's got no chance. He does nothing but retreat, retreat, retreat... He-he, you noticed how the 'sour' was actually 'sweet' That's why I chose passion fruit instead of lime, which Lyn prefers. Not only because it's on the nose - passion fruit - but because that flavor has sweetness, too, just like Alexander. Since I'm working hard to capture these unspoken things between the characters, just imagine me riding 'weeee' all over the moon. Thank you for your analysis, so great, like usual!
