Thank you! And with me, while HEAs are guaranteed, there is a lot of action or heartache or misunderstandings before that happens! The mystery of the bite will become clearer in the next chapters.

Very much on point! And Theodore clearly was waiting for an enemy... not for one moment did he think Ryder to be anything else!

Since we're getting into the action part of the story, things are going to get pretty wild! All will be revealed, some things more quickly, others slowly...

Theodore has a story of his own. Right now, it is only through these bloody interactions that the readers get to know him. But he will reappear...

  12. Chapter Nineteen – Secret Power “We need to call an ambulance,” Danny said, sniffling and wiping his tears away in vain as they rushed to where Ryder lay, sprawled on top of a pile of bricks, all the life knocked out of him. “We need to call the emergency--” A gasp coming from Ryder halted his words mid-sentence. Danny climbed onto the pile, using both his hands and feet, his heart in his throat. “Ryder, can you hear me?” he shouted. The dark eyes he had come to adore opened slow
  13. Thank you! And there will be more on him and his background.
  14. A very insightful analysis on Lyn and this memory chapter. We are who we are because of circumstances, and how we grow up shapes us the most. Also, the things learned during the formative years are the toughest to shake off. Well noted on the gifts. They are symbols. And indeed, Lyn got used to wear a mask so he could survive the world.
  15. I'm glad Lyn's background came as a surprise. He hid himself well More on the mom in future chapters.
  16. As I was getting the first reactions on Lyn's character, it became pretty clear to me that showing his background will help with shaping a 'more' complete image. Actually, the reason why I chose this structure - going back and forth between present and past - is because I wanted to have the chance of showing the background of the characters in a 'raw' format instead of just mentioning it now and then.
  17. Alexander's home situation will appear in a future memory chapter - through Lyn's eyes, but still. Brad didn't suspect a thing back then... Lyn didn't ask where the coat came from, so it might remain a mystery
  18. He is under a lot of pressure - not only in the past, but that's particularly harder since he's young and without any means he could call his own. Oh, was that a reference to the series Overcompensating? I watched it and though I thought at times it was just so dumb, I couldn't stop! Also, that famous line - is he gay or is he just British?
  19. Lyn, I think, is just waaay too focused on himself. He'll get to know Alexander more (in the past, so memory chapters), but Alexander will also be pretty good at holding his cards close to his vest.
  20. Chapter Nine – There Is Always an Easy Way Out Dinner was set in an open-air pavilion close to the beach, so the sound of the waves reached them from time to time, as well as the pleasant summer sea breeze. From the crisp ivory linen tablecloth and the expensive candles flickering inside tall hurricane glasses to the tasteful tropical flower arrangements, the whole setup looked like something straight out of a magazine or an insta-reel for the rich and famous, making Lyn think again about h
  21. Oh, lol, that throw! It would be so good...
  22. Oh, so true. At least Jamie is not alone in this, I agree. And that will matter. You will know when that moment comes what this means.
  23. It's my secret-est guiltiest pleasure!
  24. Thank you for this comment. I know I'm guilty of not reading everything as careful as I should... so I thought Jamie would be the same. Glad to see we're not alone in this!
